In this video we shall be taking you around the beautiful continent of Africa and we shall be presenting to you the top 10 longest bridges on the continent. A bridge is a structure built to span a physical obstacle, such as a body of water, valley, or road, without closing the way underneath. It is constructed for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle, usually something that can be detrimental to cross otherwise. There are many different designs that each serve a particular purpose and apply to different situations. These bridges help to ease exchanges between cities and countries within Africa. Though the longest in the world might not be found in Africa, There are however many long and beautiful bridges in Africa worthy of their own place in the hall of fame.

so without any further delay, here are the top 10 Longest bridges in Africa.
1. 6th October bridge - Length 20.5km - The 6th October Bridge is an elevated highway in central Cairo, Egypt. The 20.5 kilometres bridge and causeway crosses the Nile twice from the west bank suburbs, east through Gezira Island to Downtown Cairo, and on to connect the city to the Cairo International Airport to the east.
2. Third mainland bridge (nigeria) lenght 11.8km - Third mainland bridge in Lagos, Nigeria. length, eleven point eight kilometers third meal and Bridge is the longest of Three Bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the other are the Eco and Carter Bridges.
3. Suez Canal Bridge Egypt length, three point nine kilometers the Suez canal bridge has many names such as Al Salam Peace Bridge, the Shohada 25 January Bridge,
Egypt Japanese friendship Bridge. It is a road bridge crossing the Suez Canal at El-Qantara, whose name means "the bridge" in Arabic.
4. Mozambique Island Bridge. Length three point eight kilometers. Mozambique Island Bridge is located on the island of Mozambique with a length of three point eight kilometers across over the Indian Ocean and connect the island of Mozambique, the former capital of colonial Portuguese East Africa to the mainland over the Indian Ocean.
5. Dona Ana Bridge Mozambique. length, three point six kilometers. Dona ana bridge is found in Mozambique. It crosses over the Zambezi River to join Vila de Sena to Mutarara towns toward that other towns in Mozambique effectively linking the two towns of the country.
6. Armando Emilio Guebuza Bridge (Mozambique)- Length -2.3km
The 2.3km bridge was built in Mozambique across the Zambezi River. This bridge links Zambezia and Sofala provinces. It is named after Armando Guebuza a former president of Mozambique.

Nigeria is coming up with the 4th mainland bridge with completion plan of 2024 which might take this crown for many years to come. its going to 56km bridge over the both large water body and land.

These guys don't get their facts right. Tuta Bridge is Zambia's longest bridge with 3.5km in length, and yet, it doesn't appear on the 10 longest bridges in Africa. It's puzzling indeed!

He missed the Mukuku bridge also known as Tuta bridge or Serenje Samfya bridge. It’s 3.1km. Built by Chinese contractors in the 1970s. Funded by Zambian government. The bridge lies on the Luapula river and connects Luapula province to central province.

Mukuku Brigde is longer than kazungula bridge in Zambia not katima mulilo wrong. Mukuku bridge in luapula province Zambia is one of the longest bridge in Africa. 3.5 kilometres long.
What about Mukuku Bridge on Luapula river in Zambia which is about 3.2km.
The producer need to do more research. Mukuku (Tuta) bridge in Zambia's luapula province spans 3.56km on the mighty luapula river.
