So, in short no revives only replacements.

To answer your question yes this game has optional mirco transactions. I say optional because you can earn super credits by playing the game so if you just save up you can get everything for free. And you can communicate with random poeple with ether the in game chat box or the in game coice chat.
The game have microtransaction but it is very unused because you can get the super credits for free if keep playing the games a lot which reminds me another game called SAS: Zombie Assault 4
Oh it’s helldivers I thought it was gonna be about Red Alert (btw you NEED to react to the Red Alert 3 movie even though you won’t know the actors because you don’t know people…) I thought this was gonna be about metal wolf chaos
This game hasn't been here super long. It certainly outperformed the devs expectations when going from a top down twin stick game to full 3D. They were going from a game that had maybe 10k players and were only expecting maybe 50k people to get this sequel. It got more than 10 times that. The dev came to Twitter and was basically like. "hey we know you all love our game, but maybe don't buy it right now. Wait for us to fix this whole server stuff and add some more content." more or less. I can at least attest to the server problems more or less being gone now. I've never once had a connection problem since I started playing this month.

In terms of lore, yes. But in gameplay terms, yes you can revive your teammates.
Please keep in mind there are 9 difficulty levels in Helldivers 2. Smii7y here is playing at level 2 (easy). That is why it seems calm and easy.
