  • Wild sage is a very important part of First Nations People in North America in religious or other ceremonies. It is also used in many other cultures around the world too. There are many varieties of sage around the world and most people are familiar with the middle eastern sage used as a spice. In the midwest the prairie sage or white sage is the most common. In staying with local traditions only wild sage should be used to make a smudge bundle & of course because red is a sacred color we tie it with red thread.
Now there are countless traditions that vary from one group to the next, in my traditions smoke from the sage is used to purify one's self and carry prayers to the creator. How you choose to use it is is between you & the Creator.

It's how I was taught by my mother and my elders. A tradition to hand down to those that learn from us.

Love the fairness for Earth. “Take only what you need and give back. Ask for consent.” If more humans had that mindset, much of the problems in the world could be solved. Always respect the Earth and care for her. ❤️

Thank you. It is the belief I was raised on, a long held tradition. I hope to inspire people to do the same

Thank you for your respect to Mother Earth with the tobacco and giving back for your harvest. I appreciate the use of the red thread to honor the native culture and our creator. Looking forward to future videos.

Thank you for sharing how to wrap the bundles. I have wild sage out in my yard. I smelled something and could not figure out what it was until August when our mower broke and the sage started growing all over. I'm glad the mower broke.

I usually go out mid day when the skeeters aren't out. If they are a little Repel but spray works great for skeeters and ticks

The best offering you can give any plant that you harvest for personal use is stewardship. Let your local tribes in on the lands to put expert hands on it.
