    Caged layer hens, although commonly used in the egg industry, present several disadvantages from an ethical and welfare perspective. One of the primary concerns is the lack of space and confinement experienced by these birds. Cages restrict their movement, preventing them from engaging in natural behaviors like perching, dust bathing, and stretching their wings. The confined environment can lead to physical discomfort and psychological distress, ultimately compromising the hens' overall well-being.
    Additionally, caged layer hens are prone to health issues, including bone weakness and feather loss, due to the restricted space and inability to exercise. These conditions can result in a lower quality of life for the hens and a higher risk of injury or disease.
    Furthermore, the lack of environmental stimulation in cage systems can lead to boredom and frustration among the hens, which may manifest in harmful behaviors like feather pecking or cannibalism. These negative interactions can escalate and create a stressful and hostile environment for the birds.
    From a consumer standpoint, caged eggs may raise concerns about food safety and quality. Overcrowding and unsanitary conditions in cage systems can increase the risk of disease transmission, potentially affecting the quality of the eggs produced.
    Considering these disadvantages, many consumers, animal welfare organizations, and even governments have advocated for alternative housing systems that prioritize the well-being of layer hens, such as free-range, barn, or enriched colony systems. These alternatives offer hens more space and opportunities for natural behaviors, contributing to improved welfare and more ethical egg production practices.

      @user-pw3nn4tz5o Před 6 měsíci +1

      2750÷30 eggs in a crate = 91.6~92 crates (100%)
      But she said her farm gives her 82 crates.
      So, (82÷92)×100= 89~90%
      So her farm gives her 90% not 100%.
