Reginal Dixon was my Godfather and to be able to hear these notes coming from his fingertips is pure magic.

" Beside The Seaside " is the reason I love the theatre organ. And the fact of me being born in 1972 - means I'm not one of those coffin-dodgers that listens to this music to bring back happy memories of fighting world war two ! ! !

Not everyone was happy when it appeared i don't think Reg threw his hat in the air , it was a re release for some of us it was a chance to get a number of old 78s on LP we were too young to have bought them first time round so was delighted to get hold of both vol: 1& 2, after a few years going up to Blackpool in August but can't find a list of who is playing.

I have volumes 2 and 4 on vinyl, dropped them to MP3. I think that some on 4 were recorded in Bolton, not that i had anything to do with it. Golden.

Does anyone know how these were recorded? It’s too good a quality to be dubbed from 78’s but too early to be from tape recorders.

May have been one from original masters no doubt sadly gone now

They most likely were dubbed from 78s, or at least the masters. They were then put through a stereo effect, which is so poorly done, it sometimes sounds like there are two records playing at different times.
