Youngest Voices Recorded in The Church Studio: “LIVIN' IN THE 918” | Hot Toast Music

Co-written and sung by the kindergarteners of Monte Cassino Catholic School, this heartwarming song called "Livin' in the 918" was recorded and filmed at The Church Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma! With the guidance of local musician and educator Symon Hajjar from Hot Toast Music, these young students embarked on a unique learning experience to create an original song that captures their love for their city.
Throughout the school year, these enthusiastic kindergarteners were fully engaged in the songwriting process. Led by their dedicated teacher, Gina Jacober, and Symon Hajjar, the students explored their imaginations to beautifully capture the essence of Tulsa's iconic landmarks and the warmth of its people. This collaboration with Hot Toast Music provided them with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to harmonize their knowledge and emotions, resulting in an unforgettable experience.
The Church Studio is a historic studio that was built in 1915 as Grace M.E. Church. It came to life in 1972 when Leon Russell, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy-Award winning artist, purchased the old church and turned it into an analog recording studio and home office to Shelter Records. Teresa Knox, a Leon Russell fan and Tulsa native, purchased The Church Studio and has brought it back to life as a professional analog and digital recording studio, event center, audio engineering school, entertainment network, and home to The Church Studio Archive.
