This chess academy is run like an Edtech Company! Upstep Chess Academy

Upstep Chess Academy has trained over 25000 students online. We visited the academy in Mumbai and were very surprised to see how it was run. The academy has more than 40 employees, but none of them actually work on chess. They are into Sales, HR, Marketing and other fields. In fact the coaches work from home and do online training. The academy was co-founded by Salil Ghate and Abhijit Hatkar, two chess players from Mumbai and they also work with 5-time World Champion Vishy Anand, who helps them to train their trainers.

I am taking coaching with upstep for a year now. The classes get very expensive as you get to the higher level but coaches are really good.i started in advanced beginner and now I am in Master level

Commendable job and achievement by the team. But a lil too hyped, they don't have 25,000 students for sure. Even if 85 tutors work for 8 hours for 20 days a month they can only provide a maximum of 3 classes per month per student. So 3,000 - 7,000 students is a reasonable number.

Don't believe this upstep.. it's not great chess learning.. high costliest and tedious to contact.. you will end up in loosing money like me.
