Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 8 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have 2 half Thai, half American boys named Luke and Leon. Nam is our Nanny and she is life family to us. She is from Myanmar. She has worked for us for over 5 years.
Wat and I have owned several businesses together on Maenam walking street. Right now our restaurant Lilikoi Bistro is closed but we will let you know when we reopen.

My Thai parents came across your channel, and enjoy your videos. Thank you for the glimpse into your life. I wanted to mention to you that your nanny probably shouldn’t feed your baby meals while he’s laying down. It’s such a choking risk. I know everyone has different ways they raise their kids, but avoiding choking should be a universal concern for kids’ safety everywhere. I’m posting this out of concern, and not trying to be a jerk at all.

I totally agree also..that is a very dangerous way of feeding anyone really but even worse a baby...I pray for safety 🙏🏻
@@sljchandler I don't even work in the medical field yet I know to NEVER feed a baby like that or anyone...makes me wonder if that's how the nanny eats..laying dwn?? U know... and she has to know anyone can choke to death eating like that it's common sense to be honest..yet if u watch more vids you'll see more things that's not norm ...just saying..so I just keep prayers 🙏 for safety of the kids/babies

I just found your channel and I am sitting here with tears running down my face. During my military career I spent a lot of time in and out of Thailand and the surrounding area. You have brought back so much of a language that I thought I had lost. I remember water festival time and Loy cat tong, with the candles in the paper boats on the rivers. In Thailand was my best time of life so many friends, my older friends taught me to speak Thai, but the younger ones always got me into trouble when trying to talk to girls. I remember the Thai band that came to America and love their songs, still remember that. But that was early to mid-1970s another place, another time.

The songs you chose for your videos hit so hard even for Thai people (me, for one); it makes me wanna cry cuz they’re so beautiful 😭💕. Like, they’re not in the list of the most popular Thai songs at the moment but they’re indeed hidden gems. Even me, a native Thai person, have not even listened to any of those songs. It makes me see that you don’t just follow the trend and pick what’s hot ATM. I can see your LOVE towards the country and its people. I am so happy to see a complete foreigner who is actually in love with Thai culture and not hesitant to express their love for others to see.

I discovered your channel yesterday and since then I’ve watched 3 or 4 of your videos that I find to be highly enjoyable. Running through the comments I found a lot of people saying how lucky your husband is for having you. That may well be true but by the same token I think you are extremely fortunate to have met such a seemingly gentle and well-natured man who has given you two lovely children and given you the opportunity to live in the wonderful country that is Thailand. The desert is Med Khanun (Kanhun seed). The inside is made from steamed "peeled green beans" mixed with sugar and little salt. Then they made it into individual seed, dip it in beaten egg yolks and drop it in a hot sugar syrup.
