- Months of work went into making this Extremely Special Episode. Building the Worlds First Turbo LS Ford Festiva was no small task, it involved combining 3 cars and hundreds of hours of work. I hope you like it as much as i do!
Talk about a sleeper. lol Not one cop will ever suspect that thing as a street rod, and not one hot rod driver will take you seriously until it’s too late!! ❤😂
You put a Ford Festiva an a turbo LS engine LOL I love it.
I was watching your front rotor/bearing replacement video and near the end of the video with the shot of the two yellow festivas...I was like, WAIT, I RECOGNISE THAT HOUSE...Yeah, I'm the guy that bought the wheels, engine and two transmissions from ya. Glad to see progress on the wonderful creation
Small world right! Thanks for watching the show.
BRUH, WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS? Never change. 😂💜
My wife had one. Owned it for 5 years before I found out the back seat flipped up...we're still married.
This thing is like my 98 s10 it didn't need a tach cause it was so slow you purposefully had to hold the gas for an extra 20 minutes to over rev it.
What is astonishing to me is that you know how to do something like this transformation. I am in awe. Wish I had that kind of know how. Great video. Thanks. Andrew from Tampa FL
Thanks for watching. I'm no expert. And I had a lot of help from my friends. A lot of it is trial and error.
Can't believe I'm just finding this channel
You better take this thing to a Cleetus and Cars event at least once
Thank you from iran
Dude please never never never stop doing what your doing. This is epic and i definitely dont want you to stop until your ripping this thing in the burnyard. Congrats on over a million views and i have a feeling your subs are gonna jump soon. If this is the type of crazy stuff your gonna do with cars your gonna go far on youtube. Keep up the great work your great on camera and your editing is strong. Keep living it fully everyday my friend. Insta sub
I appreciate that more than you could imagine. Leon and i are both hard at work on this and a new project!
Wow, Congrats! It's like you planned it all along! Three (four?) projects come together and form Mega-Miativa :D
Bad ass bud !!
Zero drivetrain loss. 4 inch driveshaft I love it
Just saw your post in Sloppy group. Earned yourself a subscriber for life. Sharing it too!
Thank you so much! It literally means the world to me. Ive been pushing hard on youtube trying to get that big video. If this doesnt get traction i dont know what will. Thank you for the support!
Same same I'm Scott bro
This is such a good build. Im from philippines and my family owns a Kia Pride 4door hatch back. Just like yours but 4 doors
Is there still a lot of surplus parts there in the Philippines po?
Yes po madami po parts dito ksi common ang kia
@@ronaldcharlesnunag2454 I wish I could visit banawe again. I got a set of mag wheels and side mirrors from there.
Nice work bro!
You did a very well job 👏👍
I had a 93 with a B6T and a 92 with a BP swap that was fun as hell but i can only imagine how this deathtrap is lol
I owned a b6t swap before with 200hp and it was insane. This feels more like your just sitting with a motor and no body. The bp or bpt swap is the way to go. Na or turbo for extra fun. Ive been in a few and its the "correct" seap. Thanks for watching.
This is cool af...
Nice job
Thanks Thomas. Whens the Fairlane gettin goin?
This is what i want
Just saw this on Facebook. Its sick!
Thank you. A new episode for it will be out in like 10 mins.
I like how I found an article about this build but I am already subscribed lol
Can i ask where you saw the article?
I’ve seen motor swaps, but I think this is my first body swap, I literally just got an 89 festiva for free today 😂😂
Hold onto it. Its gonna be worth a fortune as gas prices continue to skyrocket
Jim Carrey voice..... like a glove.....
Love it
Keep up the good work I love the oddball cars
Thanks man!
I'm actually tempted to do this to a geo metro and turn it into a tube frame drag car.
Id say go for it. What do you have to lose?
Matt told me to watch, so I came to watch....Amazing build :)
Thank you so much! Which Matt?
My buddy and I have been talking about putting a 460 big block in a festiva.
Front engine or rear? Im guessing front. One of the biggest hurdles is the suspensions. Just for something to think about. Best of luck to you and your build!
Longtime Festiva owner here...There been a couple V8 Festivas over the years, small block fords, chevies, big block fords, v-6's too but its like they disappear soon as someone makes one. I figure they must crash em out, probably just too much for a tiny car lol
Mines still a work in progress. I bet your right. But it is a bit of a handful to deal with. Id be happy to take mine to work one day. We shall see
You, sir, are a saint. I couldn't believe what I was reading when my buddy sent me a link. This is so damn awesome man, I have so much appreciation for all your efforts hahaha
Thank you very much! Your appreciation does not go unnoticed. Both leon amd i are hard at work on this and the next project. Thank you for the support!
@@thousanddollarcarguy Hell yeah man, you guys are true champions! Haha I'm glad to see this is blowing up the interwebs, too, you guys deserve the recognition for this beast! Can't wait to see what's to come my man
Bad ass
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is great!
Did you go buy the Festiva with this in mind? Wheelbase looks pretty damn close.
I did! Dude this is so cool you reached out. I started watching your channel a few months ago and keep recommending everyone to go check it out. Especially your recent idea of building the motor you want in the yard and walking out with just one motor! Also sloppy mechanics just subbed me. Greatest youtube day ever! But to get back to what you said. I did have this in mine. Let me go get something ill be right back.
Here it is. 1 year ago. With a different festiva i had the idea. czcams.com/video/UaNrHWZaQYc/video.html thank you again for the comment. It has been a day to remember!
dam! the wife wont let me build one. i would go 3.0l duratec and 6 speed semi auto though
I so hope you finish this. You are nuts! I love it. Will this be street legal when you are done?
Its already street legal lol.
im suprised you didnt keep the original wheels on! those look gorgeous!
Do you mean the original miata rims? Or festiva? The festiva has a different bolt pattern. And the stock 13in daisys from the miata sit too low and the oil pan scraps the ground. Thanks for watching the show!
@@thousanddollarcarguy ohhhh thats why you changed the rims! still very cool!
Holy shit!
This is stupid and ridiculous.. I LOVE IT
This is the most obscene thing I've seen in awhile. awesome work!
On a long enough timeline, everything gets an LS swap 😂
At least in this universe ha
Why didn't you use the other festiva for this project since this one was in good shape
Legality title reasons
@@thousanddollarcarguy oh gotcha
Sloppy Mechanic fans in the hizzy. Lol. LOVE THIS CREATION!!
Thanks so much im a big fan of Sloppys! Im picking up my tuning skills from his videos. I need more learnings lol
hey I'm installing clutch cable on a 93 festiva L and was wondering if u have any tips or advice as to where to find even a simple set of directions or schematics if not I understand
Join the fordfestiva facebook group. They have a tremendous amount of schematics and information that im sure will be able to walk you through your problem. Hope this helps!
Wish ford made those cars today
Not like....... love
I’m stuffing an LS 5.3 into a Volvo 240 wagon right now !! It’s on my channel
I have a love for wagons. Ill gp check it out now!
Ultimate sleeper build, eBay turbo fun project .. just getting going on it .. should get the motor stopped in the next couple of weeks
@@NorthEastMX single or twin turbo?
I was originally thinking twin... But I’m really trying to keep this build on a junk yard budget... so I’m back to single. Right now I scored the car for 200, sold the dead red block for 100 bucks, and then sold the tranny for 100 bucks.. car cost ZERO. Scored the 5.3 and tranny 480L for 200 bucks !!! Got my mounts from sts for 400 bucks, that was motor, tranny and 8.8 rear end set.. going to wire diet everything on my own. My goal is 600HP for under 3 grand .. and turn 10s !!
@@NorthEastMX dude thats sweet. Single is the way to go. It saves so much on just fittings to justify making power
Always thought about doing this with my 89 bf chassis Mazda 323 hatchback! Which chassis did you use? The wheel base matched up pretty decent
The chassis is the 90 miata. Buuuut if I did it again I would just bolt the miata front and rear subframe to the festiva body and cut out what else had to be removed.
@@thousanddollarcarguy do you have extra subframes laying around for a mock up? I’m intrigued even more now! Miata says width wise it’s 65.9 inches compared with my Mazda 323 is 64.8 inches for width
@@MotionDasBOOST I don't. And I actually sold this project last night. Sadly. But here's something to know. You need to have a lot of camber front and back to fit the wheel arches. If you don't want to put over fenders on
@@thousanddollarcarguy sad 😢 for me 😂 hopefully good money for you! My thoughts were finding an 83-88 bronco II frame wheelbase of 94.0 inches 68.0 inches wide and doing similar to what you did
@MotionDasBOOST it was terrible money. But It was completely apart basically. No motor or trans. Best of luck with your own project
Can anyone tell me where can i find a sequential gearbox for Ford Festiva 1990?
Holy shit......this is the ONLY Fiestiva that has meaning!!!
No auto transmission, 5 speed. and I don't know if you saw this on so I copy and paste again: OK, you said "Seat belts, and interior parts, I'm interested on the "front' seat belts, ignition switch if you have one, and tail lights. thanks
Send an email to me at thousanddollarcarguy@gmail.com and it will help me remember to go look for the parts. Im in the kiddle of a hurricane right now so i cant get them from my shed yet.
I want to do this but use a 1.8l dohc and 5 speed from a miata
And also make it rwd
I really would like to do this, ive been saving money for a project like this could any body give me some help.
Just get a nb miata. Cut the body off. Place festiva overtop. Done.
I see you used a Miata chassis.
I was joking in your comments on another video, but I was right!! You built the body around the engine!! Weight to power less than 10?
We will find out once i weight it. Im hoping for under 1800lbs. But that might be asking a bit too much. When its on the road ill go down to the scrap yard and weigh it
What did u use underneath to set the body on?
Its welded with bed rails to the rockers. Like we cut the rockers out of the miata. Then welded the rockers from the festiva to the miata floor with bed rails
Hey bro! Are you still have the transmission, pedal and the shifting sistem?
I ended up buying an actual automatic aftermarket shifter assembly. I did a video on it. It still works great.
@@thousanddollarcarguy oooh i see! But you still have original part for the ford festiva?
What was the base frame from?
1990 Mazda miata.
what body did you drop it on?
1990 mazda miata
I want to find one of those so bad. It kind of hurts to see you cut it up and put a V8 in it. I want to restore and fully built the original engine and transmission. Coilovers and the whole nine yards. Build a rear independent suspension.
What happened to the Mosstiva?
Its in the background. You can see it in the cover art. Sellin off parts of it to pay for more fun stuff
You happen to have a set of factory headlights you will sell?
I dont have any extra sorry
@@thousanddollarcarguy well thanks for saying so. They hard to find I have a 93. Drive the wheels off it.
is this a B3 engine???
Ha
what chassis was that?
1990 mazda miata
I'd like to buy some of those parts if you still have them! I have two of these
Depending on what you need i may have some. But truthfully i only have some duplicate interior parts. Stuff like pieces of dash or tail lights or seat belt stuff.
@@thousanddollarcarguy Well the Transmission shifter base (Big doughnut or complete ASSY) The back plywood cover "for trunk", the rear windshield tail light, the shifter knob (with correct markings) any AC parts (to install on one that does not have one), the front transaxles, and CV joints etc.
auto transmission???
@@abplumbing8734 sorry i don't have that
@@thousanddollarcarguy OK, you said "Seat belts, and interior parts, I'm interested on the "front' seat belts, ignition switch if you have one, and tail lights. thanks
I'd daily it
That's not a turbo LS festiva, that's a turbo LS chassis wearing a festiva like a hat.
How do I subscribe to your newsletter?
Wat? Lol
Any chance you would sell this ??
I would consider it. Just so i could fund other projects.
Should of just bought a chevy if you are a cheby fan 👍👍👍
Problem is i love both!
Nonsense. I am riding 97 KIA PRIDE in Korea. I want to be friends with you
I have plans for a festiva swap and honestly... Yours was far easier in my opinion. It will be a v8 swap but not with a done a million times over ls crap swap. boring!!! But a full audi 4.2 AWD swap!!! Talk about worlds first right.
I look forward to seeing it
@@thousanddollarcarguy If I do it I will be showing the complete build video for sure. Trying to talk him down on the price of his car first.
Dick anda Jane Ford festiva 😂
Why not use the parts car for this 😆
I have my reasons. Wink
Fare enuff.
Bruh you can buy a 2016 or i think even 2018 4 door festiva made in iran right now
For less than 5k dollars
If i could import them i would lol. I love these cars
