• Adam Carolla - Comedic...
In their conversation, Zuby and Adam Carolla discuss the shifting landscape of California, with many residents leaving due to increasing tax burdens and regulations. They highlight disagreements with certain governmental policies, such as those regarding transgender issues and regulations in schools. Despite these concerns, Carolla mentions his reluctance to leave due to his children's schooling.
They predict a future where red states become more conservative while blue states become more liberal, leading to potential conflicts and the need for cooperation between states. They also touch on the phenomenon of people leaving blue states for more conservative areas while simultaneously criticizing conservative policies, illustrating a lack of awareness in some individuals. The discussion concludes with observations on the contradictions within sanctuary city policies and the challenges they pose in practice.

If you move from a blue state (esp. CA) to a red one, just remember one thing: you're a refugee, not a missionary.
Lol given what "refugees" are nowadays that means they get free hotels and food.
I've never seen this original comment before. Let's take it a step further. If you never served in our armed forces, wrote a blank check to serve this country in wars foreign or domestic. You are just a citizen not an American. How many tours have you done?
More like a grifting traitor to your own state.
Lots of people leave California with a pile of money.....that isn't a refugee.

Most of them bring the same crap they fled from to the place they land. Here in Hawai'i, a lot of these San Franshitsco twunts came and are always trying to change my island into San Franshitsco.
It’s all part of the plan. Commiefornia has already been secured by the demonrats so they can now export their shitty people/voters to states that want to keep their guns so they can disarm the entire country eventually. We have no real 2A in America as our rights are treated like privileges to be taxed and permitted. Last i checked if it was a right I wouldn’t be asking for a permit, much less paying for one and getting jailed if not and stripped of that veery “right” as a result. Pathetic what America has become.
it's the education. I am from Boston and they teach communism and indoctrination 24/7 . critical thought is always attacked they want blind obedience😢
It's not just Californians, I talk to a lot of Born and Bred Texans that shil for Democrats (blue no matter who), of course this is in the metro areas. A short drive out these metro areas and it's straight up red. But it just boggles my mind sometimes how they can't use reason or pragmatism to discuss or argue their point and revert to the T-Man as an argument. they aren't about goals or building towards the future but bogged down by the notion that things can be fixed immediately with policy that has failed time and time again with no accountability for their failures but with the promise that it will work. Some people's sensibilities sometimes...
I remember when I was young (born in 72)
When someone said “I’m from California” your ears perked up.
Now when someone says that:
Everyone says “yuck”
Yeah! The rest of America HATES California honestly!!! I was told to NEVER say you are from California visiting another state because the rest of America HATES California.

Adam once said something along the lines of... California is that the hot girl in high school that every guy wanted to date and every girl wanted to be friends with. Now she's in her late 40s but still has the mentality that she's still in high school.
Accepts zero responsibility for her current condition and blames everyone else.
That is actually a fair analogy.
Too accurate
California started falling off in the early 2010s. I remember being there for college in 2005…it was SO dope back then. I came back in 2011 and it was right on the cusp on what it would start to become. You could see the vibe had totally changed

I’m a native here in Colorado and we have always talked about how tired we are about Californians moving here since the 90s and turning our beautiful state into a Blue state by voting for the same policies they tried to move away from. Now we have more homeless people, higher taxes and cost of living, higher drug problems and mountain towns, camping spots and hiking trails being shut down due to addicts and homeless leaving trash. It’s just not the same state I grew up in.
It seems like denver and boulder vote as metro cali does. Out of the fire and into the frying pan.
We moved to Colorado to escape California 8 yrs ago. We left because of the politics as well as financial issues. We have been angry and distressed by the migrants from blue California bringing their politics with them to Colorado and taking control of the government.
It is not just those from California who have made Colorado another liberal cess pool. Colorado has always had a left leaning population, much of it centered around Boulder. Socialist policies can look very attractive when viewed from outside, but are very different when actually lived. Take a look at Corruptafornia, home to Pelosi, Kamala Harris, and Newsom, all heros for socialist policies. That doesn't seem to be working out so well.
Since SF destroyed mine and thousands of other businesses back in 2018 and my circle of friends all went BLM, antifa and trans crazy...one long story later I was forced out of California. My family is (were) a multi-generational Californa family, going back to 1800's...due to crime, financial abuses by local and state governments and the terrifyingly toxic political landscape, they have been slowly exiting the state.
Same here, it was hard to leave the Bay Area, friends and family but I sleep better knowing that it was no longer what I remember or where I want to be to raise my kids. Getting out was the right decision.

Invariably the weather is invoked as a reason to stay in California. But you are talking about the coast. The mountains are nice, too. Most of the interior of central and south California would be desert but for the extensive water infrastructure. And some of those Central Valley towns look apocalyptic.
Most people default to that reason even though 90% of their time is not spent in those nice nature locations. I have lived in Southern California my whole life and people here are so weird. One minute we are in a drought and it is the end of water and everything must be "drought resistant" then the weather cycle goes back to normal and they all complain about how it is raining too much. I am too lazy and apathetic to fight or run from the policies that will drain my bank account 🤷♂️
I live in inland San Diego and of course i want to gtfo asap-but i will say the last 3 years the weather has been a bit dif, no crazy Santa Ana’s in winter (we had a couple of years of TERRIBLE ones, but they have gone away for now at least), we had maybe 2 days over 100 degrees last summer, we have had record rains, atmospheric rivers, all of the reservoirs are full, everything is green-its temperate and lush-so either this is climate change improving things here, or its a normalization of the weather cycle, and its nice, but not nice enough to stay in a place where the politicians are stark raving mad and pedophiles to boot
The dots don’t connect in what passes for a brain here in Cali
The haven’t for a while now.
The best bumper sticker in the 80’s was “Welcome to California, Now Go Home”
If people were still using that bumper sticker today, they’d probably be pulled over and forced to remove it
it's amazing the cutting volleyball nets thing at the beach isn't a joke.
When we made it known we were leaving CA and didn’t have a definitive destination, someone asked “ok so of all the states in the US, which do you definitely NOT want to be?” My wife and I in unison said “California”
Every bad neighborhood in America has too many basketball players........
My family left Los Angeles and moved to Idaho. It was a great decision.
You’re wrong Adam, people in California like myself did care about politics 20yrs ago and tried to stop what we saw coming. Where was your head at back then? Hollywood? Sincere question. I’m glad you’re on board now though.
A public service announcement. If you don’t make at least $120k a year, don’t even think about moving to Florida. Property taxes are creeping up, auto insurance has increased significantly not to mention homeowners insurance and HOA FEES. If you really wanna move to Florida, I recommend renting for a year first then reevaluate your plan. Good luck.
It is inevitable that Florida is feeling growing pains. It is so much better than the places they are coming from (ie. New York and California) that they don't see how the infrastructure will need to be overhauled and increased. That includes all utilities, roads, sewers, etc etc. All of this is incredibly expensive to do. Of course all these things will have to be paid for and that means taxes will have to increase. Think carefully about where you plan to move. Maybe pick a place that not everyone is blindly rushing to, and remind yourself you are not on a missionary mission, but are a guest in someone else's house, at least temporarily. There plenty of places still left in this country that have not gone bat shxt crazy with socialist agendas. And still respect the right of people to live their own lives with little government interference.
I left Illinois for Florida during covid. Best move ever.
My wife and I got out just as Covid crashed down on us. We ended up in SW Idaho.
The number of Californians up here is insane.
We are kicking ourselves for not doing it a decade ago.
We left CA summer 2021. My family moved there in 1890s. It was literally like “living” in a different country. It was awful. I don’t even want to visit now. It’s madness and out of control.
I moved from California to Utah 10 years ago. Since that day, anytime my california neighbors, friends, or co-workers suggest ANY liberal policy (laxed immigration, higher taxes, dumb regulations like cell phone laws while driving, lawn watering regulations, etc) I remind them that they are trying to make Utah into California and they won't like it.
I left Cali for florida 10 years ago. It’s gotten 10x worse since I left. Crazy.
Other states should refuse any Californian that voted for newsome.
Move to floriduh or texass..That simple!

California needs a new Governor!
Every governor since Pete Wilson has been a wrecking ball on steroids. It has become a commercialized corporate sacrifice zone for human life.

Sadly, I moved to WA state just as it turned towards lib insanity.

How’s the rain 8 months in a year? Lol

Thanks for another great show Adam. Please keep telling the truth!!!!!!
We defected to Florida from Colorado.... No regrets and no Biden votes from us! Fabulous pool though 😁
I’ve been in Cali for 40 years. I recall the Californians going to Colorado 25 years ago. Turned it purple/blue.
@@jamesdellaneve9005 there's that.....and Dominion 😳
Austin and Arizona also turned blue thanks to Commiefornia.
@@zeorhymer6 and illegals.... I won't be going back to Tucson in a hurry.
@@jamesdellaneve9005 And I recall as a Californian for almost 50 years, when people were coming from everywhere back in the 70's and 80's including Colorado, many brought their liberal political ideas with them. CA wasn't like this until all the new arrivals. The great influx of those from south of the border also has a great deal to do with the change in policies and politics. Mexico has a history of heavily leaning liberal agendas and a socialist political culture. It is natural they would bring their ideas with them.
You can say this about most of the country, these days
There are VERY few places in the country you really want to live in right now
Nice observation!
I strongly disagree. You should get out more.

I’m ready to leave to TX. My siblings are considering it as well. My wife refuses because of family. Yet she complains about every single issue that California has.

Just stop voting blue please!
Keep voting blue 😂
Here come all the comments about how people voted for it in California. All the people who think the illusion of voting is real and these career politicians aren't installed. People who do not have a clue about Lobbyists or the electoral college and how that works. Suuure. We voted for it
Yeah I tried to explain this to my family and I was shouted down as if I was the ignorant one they might as well have put their fingers in their ears and said lalala I’m not listening to you because you don’t vote and they’re conservative rich and college educated it’s mind boggling

And you are right!! For example in the last presidential election in 2020 I found both candidates not to my liking. But someone else told me I must choose between those two. For me that wasn't a choice. It was a joke.
TBH, move from state to state is not the solution. I’m highly considering leaving the country. The issues are mostly nationwide. Red states have also major issues too.
The USA needs to change the current trajectory for damn sure.

90% of the federal spending is on superfluous junk!
Actually most of federal government spending called "transfer payments". Just the facts. It has been thatway many years. Think Social security, unemployment, etc etc.
I left 20 years ago, thank god. Zero regrets!
Here in California certain cities are penalizing the supermarkets for getting their shopping carts stolen instead of blaming the homeless for stealing them.
We have new people coming here from California and they haven't moved in and have already pissed off everyone because they want to sue the homeowner association. Which will raise the homeowner insurance on everyone.
Californians have this idea that they can sue (or threat to) to get their wayt on anything. BEWARE!! That's the way it is here in CA. It's mostly threats in your case I belive. Someone needs to send the aholes a message. Go back!!
I haven't been back since 2021, just cant seem to do it now.
Left CA in 2020 for TX because of Newsom and the Democrats. Born, raised, and lived in Northern CA for over forty years. I started two companies, a trademark, and was an executive in healthcare.
Cali had a great opportunity to change course and pissed it away. Let the exodus continue!
I escaped California in 2021. Best thing I ever did. Good luck Adam!

I left Cali in ‘96 before my kids entered preschool and it was the best decision I made for them. Btw, I left the country and opted to live in Japan. My now adult offspring are wonder humans that have faced normal challenges in life.
I suggest we put on the ballot a proposition to split the state. We can then create a New California, minus the Bay Area and the city of LA. Every other part of California will be the New State.
Its been brought up in the past and I believe they should split the state as you mentioned
@@reneebivin9374 The last potential proposition was rejected by a judge, while they were starting to collect signatures. They claimed it could not go through because of some BS rule and paperwork. I say split the country
I left California in 2013. I would have left in 1991 but I took care of my parents until their deaths.

You're Italian?
Me too. I went to Italy.
Been listening to Adam for 26 fkn years.
Sick of people painting California with a broad brush that it’s all bad. This is narrow thinking. Those who leave it’s fine with me. But Los Angeles,San Francisco etc… is not all California is… it’s mostly conservative geographically it’s also very beautiful. So go some of us choose to fight for our home others are cowards who give up.
Amen. As always they think California is a city and not a state. But shhh... trust me... you don't want people from LA and SF finding out about the conservative counties in CA... just let them think it's all meth and snow...
Absolutely.
You obviously dont have kids...
Y’all gotta vote things won’t change until conservatives step out.
It’s not that we are cowards, and even if the conservative percentages are 40% to 60% liberal, there is nothing moving into the “Good” column at every election . There just seems to be an endless amount of politicians always trying to devise ways of taking more money and increase regulations, and limit rights. I chose to have a safer and saner lifestyle. I will also tell you that a year after leaving CA, Ino longer have high blood pressure and don’t have to worry about my catalytic converters being stolen, or packages stolen from my front door step.
The one thing I do miss though, is being able to drive my car in area state , like I was able to drive in So Cal.
If you are speeding in a Red State, you are doing it for a mile or two or you will have a ticket for certain. That is a fact, because there is little other crime going on.
I was born and raised in So Cal, and really saw the decline coming, and chose to leave Ca 3 years ago. I have been a regular conservative guy, with pride for our nation and always try to do right and help out. Ca was declining so fast, I saw taxes, fees, crime, illegal migration, vehicle license fees, utility bills, fuel prices, and taxes, and there really was no reason to stay. I moved to a Red state, and still help neighbors, and hold doors open, fix things for older people I see needing help, and I couldn’t be happier. I am truly sad to see my state of Ca become so unsafe, crime, infested, and filthy, with trash everywhere. People say that Liberal policies are progressive and help all, but I don’t think anyone could point to any liberal policy and show where it has really helped or raised up home values, and made a city better. It makes me truly feel ILL when I think about this rapid Ca decline and don’t see Democrats helping to stop it. I don’t think it can be saved at this point. Tax base is continuing to leave, and businesses are closing down, and lawlessness is going to keep increasing. Bummer for those who want a safe place to raise a family , and can’t find it in Ca any longer, and your local politicians say they are fixing things. But we know it is all just BS.
I'm currently here in CA, and it's gotten even worse since you've been gone, crime is from bad to rampant I even had someone try and get in my car while I was stuck in traffic, homeless went from bad to every town in between cities, migrants everywhere you turn, e.r waiting rooms, getting coffee in the gas stations before work, in traffic all around me. I even seen migrants walking through the mojove desert on my way back from Arizona to Northern CA. I stopped to pee on the side of the road and stretch then I turned around and seen them walking in the desert ).
Everyone here is pissed off, roads are crumbling, actual pot holes on the freeways and less houses than people.
I own my home but feel sorry for the younger generation. They are not going to be buying homes here unless it's hours away from the jobs. Utility bills now are even higher by the way, fuel today was 5.40 a gallon regular.
I would never go to California again in my life. It has turned into a nasty mess.
thank you for not returning. I appreciate you!
