    In America we put the seal on the door, not the floor! Last forever that way and all that sealant is not required. The seal is always protected when the door is lifted. It just slides into the channel at the bottom of the last door panel, 5 minutes and you're done!!!

      Well, when i get my American garage... i’ll bear that in mind. Cheers.

      @@billy4rocks A door is a door my friend. If yours don't have the chanel for the seal to slip on then, just purchase the channel strip and screw it on, ($ 6 us ) then slip the seal through it. Cheers to ya as well.

      Unfortunately Riley what you just said is completely inaccurate. Garage doors do come with a bottom seal, but this is a door threshold and combined with the door seal, seals out critters and water if done correctly. These are installed by every garage door company in the US if you want it as an added barrier and is also sold at every major hardware store in the US. It's true garage door manufacturer's in the US include the bottom rubber (seal) and I would assume that's a worldwide standard when bought new.

    I love the idea of keeping the outside water from coming in the garage, but would it be difficult to wash your garage floors and get it over the lip of the threshold?

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a good point… a bloody good point actually. I for one just sweep my floors, so the lip does not pose an issue, i guess if you had one of those floor squeegees you could force it over the lip, depends what type off floor you have in there as well i guess.

    I like that. Threshold strip. I have a garage in a block and sick of the leaves like that. I want it for my getaway. Have you any thought on light and heat when there is no power supply. I painted my floor but I like your tiles. Just depends how hard they are for a female hopeless to put down .

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello Alison, sorry for the late reply.. in terms of light, you can get decent solar powered light, which run powers its own battery, my mate has one in his garage, pretty good. For heat, that’s a bit trickier, you can get gas heaters, the ones that run off bottles, but apparently and i might be wrong, you need ventilation to run those, but I’d double check that... kinda defeats the purpose if you have open up a window to heat up your garage. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.

      Ohh and the tiles, but tricky round the corners and angles, but i used a jigsaw to cut mine which made it so much easier.

    Rubber garage floor? Where you get this from? Does it stop damp/water thanks

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  Před 4 lety +1

      Those are just standard garage pvc floor tiles, they are essentially waterproof, but liquid will seep between the gaps.
