Love seeing a realistic view of how many of us actually live and have to reconfigure space for a baby! I was feeling down that we don’t have a bigger house with more room but this is almost exactly our situation and I love how positively you addressed it!
Right? You see people doing these fancy over the top nurseries when they're 5 months pregnant, and I guess it's the nesting or something, but realistically, a baby doesn't need their own room. We only did our son's room shortly before he turned 2, it was the ideal timing for us 😅
Was thinking the same thing! Working with what you have is normal, but if you were going by social media you'd think everyone is moving to massive houses, hiring interior decorators, and shelling out for designer baby decor.
I've lived my whole life in apartment flats and I only got my own room when I was Abt 16, frm ages up to 10 I slept with my grandparents and then I shared a room with my sister. It was completely fine and what my family could afford and also what is the norm in my area (I grew up in the city). And I wouldnt trade city living for more space at all, so much more to do and experience! So it's weird for me to see a full nursery for one tiny baby lol
@@ca-ke9493 I feel you. I only had my own room when I was 18. That was when my sister moved out because she had graduated from college (her uni was just 10 min away & she lived with us) and she found a job in another city. In my country, it's common for kids/ siblings to share rooms if you're poor or even middle class.

Also the whole sun painting section 🤣🤣 It made me realise how much of parenting is actually about creating completely made up 'problems' through new projects for your children, then working as a team and in all seriousness to find a solution and complete it. Well done!

Thank you for showing life's imperfections: sometimes plans change; sometimes things aren't tidy; sometimes other things (like babies) need attention; sometimes things take time. The finished room looks great though! Maybe you could add some rays to the sun to make it more obvious to adults what it is?

I really like it! It was a nice thought to have the animals be different sizes so they are closer to their real-life relative sizes, but it's not your fault that the etsy store messed up. The sun in the corner looks great, and Dan is right, seeing that will help him understand shapes as he gows up. Young children do a lot of their early physics learning through play and just seeing how things roll and bounce and look from different angles in real life. Being familiar with how physical objects look and behave in real life sets the foundation for being able to describe that with maths when they're older.
Seeing how you made the sun was fun! Thank you for showing the reality of how much effort and mess is involved in changing a room purpose. It's a lot of work but worth it for the result

Can definitely relate with trying to sell a flat and buy a house. I gave up trying to sell my flat in Reading, I kept dropping the price but none of the 3 bed house sellers would reduce theirs so it ended up being a stupid amount of money for me to lose and so much more to borrow.
I've given up until 3 bed house sellers accept their homes aren't worth what they were in summer 2022 as people at the bottom of the housing ladder are having to reduce their prices by so much and simply cant afford it!

It looks like you have a wide hallway, if you need more storage or end ou not liking the shelfs on the bedroom, the hallway may fit some shorter bookshelfs, or some of those Ikea skinny shoe cabinets without feeling too full. The bedroom looks beautiful!

3:00 Imo, as a non parent, a baby becomes a toddler when they are mobile. Maybe not as early as they learn to crawl, but at the very least when they've learned to walk. When they can run, they are a toddler.

Tip from a mom - get a waterproof mattress pad, goes under the sheet, to protect the mattress. Actually, get two, so that while one is in the wash, you have another to use.
Loved this lifestyle vlog Hannah! I love your family vibe between you, Dan and Rowan and Rowan is such a precious gem. I can tell he's so loved. You are such a lovely family and I almost have tears in my eyes watching these vlogs. I hope to have a lifestyle similar to your family dynamics, once I am more established in my career path, as I am only 23 years old. I also love the 1950s theme in your vlogs: the standby footage jazz music, your clothes, the décor of the flat, Rowan's clothes. It's so relaxing and easy going to watch and I also have a fascination with 1950s style décor. It's quaint, low maintenance and when you live in a small flat, it makes the small flat less claustrophobic.
This felt very similar to my daily life with a 1 1/2 year old. Espacially the part where you and Dan are debating how to do the sun and Rowan leaves and closes the door and site behind it 🤣 been there donne that 🤣

Love that you painted him a bit of a mural! I did a big one for my little when she was too small to know what was up, but she asked for pink flowers to be added, so I've done that and she even helped with one. I'm so stoked that she'll get to see the flower she painted when she was 2 when she's big.

I feel you on having to reconfigure your small space to make room for baby. We recently moved to a much smaller house with our three kids & it has been a complete nightmare 😅 I have no linen closet, nowhere to put towels or bedsheets or anything. It's infuriating. Not to mention the insane amount of baby shit 😂 you did a wonderful job on his room! 💗

And I totally feel you, in order change one area (not even a whole room) I need to find alternative solutions to store these things in another room. especially when you have been living in a space for a while, the furniture can feel a bit stuck - since it has always been there since you live there. So sometimes I like to remember the feeling of the empty apartment and the many different possibilities there are

You are so right- everything’s a phase. We all learn to sleep, go to the loo, become civilised in the end- even my four boys!
I still can't believe buyers can just pull out of an agreement in the UK. In Belgium doing an offer on a house/appt is binding. There is a clause that says you have to have 3 rejection letters from banks (as in prove you can't get a mortgage) within 1 month of doing the offer to be able to pull out. But if you don't send this to the seller within the month you're legally bound to buying or paying a massive fine to the owner... It's to stop these types of things happening I guess!

We had a time and half with buying a house over the last three years. We managed to buy a house the day after we pulled out of a house we are going around in circles with for 8 months. The house we ended up buying wasn't the house we wanted but what we needed.
