A team wins a Stanley Cup every year but it’s been about 30 years since a player scored 70 goals. I don’t know if that’s any solace for Leafs fans. Meanwhile, on the Devils’ side, Timo Meier has been knocked all year but he’s closing in on 30 goals. I know his plus/minus looks pretty bad, but he’s producing all right. I think the Devils will be good again next year.
Great summary! That‘s what happens when Timo gets more shots and is used the way he needs to be used.

Me, and it's just me, I would rather have a team who's highest goal score has 40 goals and wins a Cup then a team with a 70 goal scorer and is out playing golf before the playoffs are over. Like I said, that's just me :)

why do current goalies always fall to their knees? Most goals go up high. How many NHL goals are scored on PP and how many bounce off skates. A lot of fluky goals are being scored. Not much based on hocket skill.
I've been noticing that for years now.
First every goalie now is seemingly 6'2 or bigger , which historically is very odd and very big for the position.
Yet all these unit goalies seemingly jusy close their eyes and drop to their knees for no reason giving up the height and size advantage.
It makes not sense whatsoever.
Who is teaching these goaltenders?
It's completely the new and ONLY style they teach all goalies now... I was a coach for my son for 10 years (stopped 2 years ago - he was done playing) and every goalie we had was this style. It's drop first to butterfly...no matter what the situation called for. Myself a hybrid style (like Brodeur but not NEARLY as good LOL) tried to instill a little shakeup to their thinking, but it's all that is taught now.
It totally leaves the top corners vulnerable.

I dont think you can take much out of this game .Both teams did not have much to play for so it was pretty loosey gosey run and gun .The Leafs will tighen it up for game 1 in sure .If they dont it will be a very short series .All Florida needs is 1 goal to win with their D and goaltending
