    Hi from Germany, thank you for the video. My blower speed control is working again now.
    The cover I closed/fixed with little screws instead of electric tape.
    Instead of the little plastic pieces you fixed with rapide glue I used little screws, which I drilled in from the rear side.
    The little screws I collect from old electric equipment.

      Hi sir! You are most welcome sir! Happy to help you and other 190e owners. Really saves a lot of money. Too expensive even for a used one. Thanks for watching sir! 🤗

      I used loctite original. After setting for 24 hours the little tabs still broke. So i guess i'll go with screws like you did. Thanks for the video @valveflow.

      Update: i used M3 steel screws. Drilled holes, cut the screws to length and shaped the tops of the screws with a dremel grinding disc.
      What originally failed in mine was the white plastic arm tab/clip got so worn that it popped out.
      I plastic welded the worn clip shut with a soldering iron and a zip tie as soldering material.
      Fixed for now, till it breaks again 😬😀.

    Amazing video! I have this problem with my 1992 190D, I imagine the reason and the process of fixing it would be the same. Will let you know once I try it!

    Thanks for this, it was a big help. Instead of plastic/glue I used JB weld. I let it set a little and then shaped it 👍

    Hi from the UK, I just bought a 190E 2.0 1992. Seemingly have the same problem, where I can only switch it to fan speed 1 and no further. Thanks for the video.

    Very well made 👌👌 i have to do this with my 93 baby benz too. But i think i will try to melt the plastic with a soldering iron from the outside so it should left a point in the inside which will prevent overturning 🤔🤔

      @@valveflow unfortunately i can't show pictures here. Bu the method with melting the plastic with a soldering iron worked perfectly. Let's see how long it will last :-)

    Is there a way for the switch to work without the stoppers? Will the switch have enough "grip" to remain in place and slide around when turning? I'm saying this because I feel like this kind of stopper system is prompt to fail very often, that's why I'm asking if the switch can work decently without it.

    • @valveflow
      @valveflow  Před 2 měsíci

      Before I know how to repair, I used to poke a, screwdriver to trigger the switches 🤣. The answer is, no sir. There's no way to select blower speed without the stoppers

    • @dosh8276
      @dosh8276 Před 2 měsíci

      @@valveflow Too bad, was worth asking. Alright, I'll try to fix the damages the previous owner did by pulling the switch back and forth like a brute and broke the whole switch mechanism... This is gonna be a pain...🥲

    The 4 pins all seem to work fine on my car but i cant slide it to the left. I dont understand, ive looked insidr and none of the parts seem to be broken but it get stuck in the middle

    • @valveflow
      @valveflow  Před 8 měsíci

      Maybe it's the same problem. Getting stuck because of the mechanism inside not working together. Better check again. Slide the slider without put the cover on to see which part make it stuck to the left. And sir, for the record, it is really pain in the 4ss for first time I crack it open. So very over engineered for a climate blower speed control. 🤣

    Thank you for the video this seems a little more complex for me to do. I just came out to my car after not driving it for 3 weeks and all of a sudden the speed switch doesn’t move is that a normal problem for it to randomly go out like that? Also how long did it take you to fix?
