    What happened to the other 75 pulls? This thing never (never) starts on less than 30 pulls.

    I absolutely hate trying to start my Stihl! I’ve NEVER had so much trouble starting one before! Such an aggravation after spending more $ hoping to get a better quality product. I spend as much time trying to start the thing as I do actually using it!

    For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

  • @HondoTrailside
    @HondoTrailside Před 6 lety +4

    With mine the answer was that there was no way. I bought a commercial grade one, and it worked for a summer around the home, then never started again. Complete opposite of my chainsaws. Never give me a moments trouble, and they get used heavily infrequently, while the trimmer gets used lightly ever week, while it worked. When I took the trimmer for repairs the local guy laughed at me. The dealer charged me 150 for something major sounding and it worked once or twice after than.

  • @rays9719
    @rays9719 Před rokem

    I have the FS 55 R. It has been hard to start so I cleaned the exhaust screen and it ran great one time and now I can not get it started.
    I bought a Stihl because everyone swears by them and all the landscape companies use them.
    I have a good strong blue spark at my plug.
    I have 145 psi of compression in the cylinder.
    The on/off switch is working perfectly
    The fuel is good and new and works in my Stihl Leaf Blower
    I took the carb apart after it quit starting and cleaned the screen and everything appears to be working well. It was not very dirty at all.
    I shot carb cleaner into the carb to fire and got nothing.
    The primer bulb fills with fuel like it should and I press it Zero to 5 times and it will not fire at all.
    I tried by setting the hold trigger and by not setting the trigger hold.
    Without taking the housing off I held the flywheel in place and pulled the starter cord to see if the flywheel key broke and the timing was off, but it is very tight.
    The fuel lines and fuel filter appear to be in good clean working condition and fuel flowing to the primer bulb.
    As you can tell this is not my first rodeo. I rebuilt a new Honda engine on a friends snowblower after he grenaded the motor and got it perfect and it still is after 4 years now. I know what I am doing and if I need help there are a million videos on CZcams for everything under the sun.
    So what the hell am I doing wrong?

    I got a used one of these for free from a friend about 2 months ago. I should give him $100 to take it back. What a piece of trash. I always heard these were a good brand, but I never trusted them. I've never had a problem like this with any of the echo equipment that I've purchased and used for over a decade. I hate to be stuck up in a tree with one of these chainsaws and have it quit on me like this weed wacker does every time. Three times I've tried to use it and three times it's been a headache. Free to the next guy!
