@Robert Biswas Well, my favourite Adrian solo is definitely Stranger in a Strange Land. It's perfectly written and fits incredibly well into the rhythm. It brings me to tears almost every time I hear it. My favourite Dave solo is Judas Be My Guide. Such a powerful and intense tone, with killer bends!!! But I understand why you love Alexander the Great, it's without a doubt one of the greatest masterpieces of heavy metal. I think it's more of an emotional approach I have with those songs I listed than a technical analysis. Powerslave is also a great pick!!!

Smith grew up in London and became interested in rock music at 15. He soon formed a friendship with future Iron Maiden guitarist Dave Murray, who inspired him to take up the guitar.
"He started me off playing; I bought my first guitar off him."
"We were both at the same state, but Dave was a bit further down, he'd actually put the time in and learn to play the guitar. And I sort of... he started me off playing. I bought my first guitar off him, I think it was like five quid or something. It was something he had lying around."

However, after playing in an Iron Maiden tribute band where I had to play all of Adrian’s parts, I would say that Adrian is def the more technical guitar player. It doesn’t necessarily make him better because Dave is a super melodic player, but from a technical standpoint, Adrians stuff is so much harder to play.

Debo decir que me gusta más como toca Adrian Smith, pero mi favorito y al que más quiero es Dave, él trasmite algo genial que no se explicar, es una parte muy elemental de la banda así como Steve.

I love that we got Adrian's solo in Powerslave because it happened to be between two of Dave's. Honourable mentions for Dave should go to the solo over the slow part of Phantom Of The Opera and his solo in 22 Acacia Avenue. I think it's his solo anyway.

Dave had been historically overshadowed by Adrian for both wrong and good reasons. Dave the amazing lead player, sided by Adrian the amazing writer who could kill on solos too. Adrian provides way more, but Dave is awesome at his thing.(for the record: my favorite songs on AMOLAD and TFF are Dave's!)

I’m going to have to go with Remember Tomorrow, but I’m talking about the Maiden Japan version. I’ve never heard DM more vicious than on this particular solo. I have to add on that little bluesy solo but after Adrian’s solo. Since it’s coming up on my anniversary that I first saw Maiden live. I have to mention Dave’s guitar solo on his own that night. He broke into The Star Spangled Banner, I thought we were going to shit our pants! Not an exact copy of Jimi’s, but enough to make us giddy! Check out the Chicago ‘83 bootleg to reference it 🤘🤘🤘
