    I've got a Hardy H2 that I put in 14 years ago, best money I've ever spent!
    It's easy to get "free" firewood when friends and family know that you heat with wood. Everyone always has a dead or downed tree!

    That is one awesome dump trailer. It looks to be a very steep dump angle. The dump I use won't go steep enough at full stroke to even dump gravel on the level much less dirt ! Was that full stroke of the cantilever/cylinder or will it go even higher and put the rear of the bed on the ground. I was reading comments and get a kick out of the controversial topic of burning green wood to make the fire last longer.

      It's ok man. I debated with myself about the price because I wanted one but didn't want to buy it unless I could make it pay for itself. Boiler was about 9k. But pipework and accessories and setup was about 4k. Hope i haven't wasted my money. But I'm hoping for a 130 dollar electric and heating bill this month. It would probably be about 500 plus normally with how cold its been

    Good video. Have a couple questions. Why do you buck your wood so short, are you limited by your splitter? I am sure your stove would take 30"? Less cut's and time and I know your mini X can handle them. Why do you keep your wood so far from burner? I used to stack on pallets when I split it then move as close to stove as possible. Burning wood can be a lot of work!

    • @survivingcountrylife7069
      @survivingcountrylife7069  Před 4 lety

      My splitter is just a used box store splitter with a wedge on the push side. So about 20 inches is my max. Also those ash rounds are heavy. So that usually outweighs my desire to make longer rounds. I'm also too lazy to stack split firewood so I tend to throw it in a pile or stack in little loader bucket when ready for use. Those are my thoughts. But I'm also interested in ways to make the process more efficient.....

    OK I gotta ask. Why does your AGP hat come out in the videos with the letters right while your Stihl hat has the letters mirror image? Sorry it's my OCD LoL! What is the backstory on the Bobcat 035? Did you buy it new or used? Mighty handy. Just me but I would hold the logs up over the trailer and buck the rounds right into the trailer. Sweep the sawdust out when you get home and compost it. When you are too old for wood splitting you might want to have a mini split installed or do it yourself now. That five hundred per month would most likely be around 1-2 hundred plus a/c in the summer. Whole thing would be less than two thousand if you do your own install. Just saying....trust me their will come a time.

I have had a side job installing sewer and water lines with it for about 8 years now. But to be honest buisness was slow last summer. Maybe hopefully I can do better this summer
