Hi I’m from the Cayman which is basically next door to Jamaica. Since your building on the south coast next to the sea. One thing to take into consideration for your house design, hurricanes and stoms! we have to face hurricane season every year and normally if a storm comes it always comes in from the south. My advice, build the house on stilts to protect your investment from big seas and storm surge!

@westsida101 I agree with your advice. I am a Jamaican, and I know what the peoples in Cayman and Jamaica experience when it comes to hurricanes and storms. Especially when you live close to the coast line. People never life close to it to experience the outcome, but they just make silly comments.

I wanted to say buy your own land, but I didn't want to seem like a spoil sport. What is stopping you from getting something of your own.? A quarter acre isn't much, only because it's on the sea shore why it seems so attractive. If he wants to sell, buy it. My gut says, keep the friendship intact and let Peter help as a friend. Two of you as friends and not that kind of business partner is better. This is nothing against Peter. I have seen so much life changing, negative things with land in Jamaica that I want to caution you both. Peter doesn't sound like a local, but still...

Wish you both the best. There already some nice homes in the area. Just make sure you know all that you need to know about building in the area, building codes requirements and what’s allowed in the area. Building close to the ocean can be challenging on what materials to use.
Congratulations, i hope you will make something very nice with it. How about putting a couple of tiny houses on there? It will make for a very quick and relatively easy and relatively cheap option to start things. Also plant a lot of coconut palms for your guests to drink on. :) Coconuts do great near the sea, and in fact, it even makes them tastier. :)

And still do! And i always hoped you found something like this for yourself! And your dream is coming true!! Lots of love for that alone❤
If you need any scaffolders we are gladly to help if we can fly over 👌 and we can help you construct the place in maby 1/2 months with nice fruit gardens chill areas and a nice nice view of the ocean! Cause we think the best you can do is like build a 2 story house with balcony (for the owners you and peter) so you can enjoy the view every morning when you wake up! And like for the airbnb part, smaller complexes like on chucky’s yard!

growing all these fruits sounds great! i actually am also planning to get a house either in thailand or portugal and grow tropical fruits because currently i live in germany and i dont like the cold german winters. But i'll take my time to decide where and when exactly i wanna do this
