There were several times during the video where the front end was wobbling. How could you not notice that?

I'll also throw in that aerodynamycs don't really matter under 60mph, somewhat important under 120, and super important over 150_ish..

Need to adjust that damper. Throughout the video I was noticing small wobbles after you were rocketing down the straights at full throttle

And not delete your fairings
to reset the gear indicator do this :
- Turn the ignition key ON and immediately turn it off while the gear indicator
display is counting up and is showing “3, 4 or 5”.
Repeat this step 5 more times.
- On the next power up, the display will count backwards (“6 to 1”).
The memory is now cleared and you can perform the Setup procedure. find a place where you can go up all 6 gears without stopping and there you have it ...

My guess would be, Lack of fairings = next to zero aerodynamics caused it and bump on the road or bad landing from the powre wheelie caused it. Please atleast get the cheap Chinese fairings without cut-outs man. Just a thought.
Joe Rossi that is what I was thinking. There is no down force at the higher speed and the nitrous on is making the front end lighter.
downforce isn't an issue on the bike. if the bike is only going straight then yes. downforce plays a little part. bikes use gyroscopic energy to turn. if you disrupt that gyroscopic energy you're not going to turn. cars need downforce more so it wouldn't flip during a turn. if you're going to blame it on aerodynamics, then naked bikes are a freaking death trap.
@@Syn741 There's more to aerodynamics than just "downforce" buddy. I'm an automobile engineer. The technical name for this is called self centering castor effect. There are a lot of scenarios that could cuz it. Right from a small bump that makes the front and loose contact and set down at an angle to bent frame that always sets the front end at an angle. What ever it is it makes the wheel come down and touch the ground at a different angle other than the ideal way(straight/inline with the read and direction of motion) this will cause the wheel which is connected to the frame with a certain rake angle to try and straighten itself where it over shoots to the other side (left to right or right to left) this is where the oscillation start's and gets amplified when the front end is loaded even more cuz the rider applies brakes are shuts off throttle which in-turn will only enlarge the amplitude, until it finds equilibrium and comes back to its normal state. By that time you'll be on the ground eating gravel. Hence why it's always good to throttle it out and stay loose on the bars, let the bike do the work and hang on. Sportbikes reach higher speeds due to their ability to cut through the wind with ease and being able to stay solid. There is a reason why naked bikes even tho in some cases despite having higher power outputs and CC's only top out 155-160mph while the litre class SBK's top out 186-190mph. Nakeds at hight speeds are a deathtrap indeed.

If you get a tank slapper go full throttle and get the pressure off the front. Wheelie, straighten out, put it down and slow it down. Dont freak out and you can do this and save you and your bike

You've got to get those GPR Stabilizers rebuilt every once in a while. Worn and front tires and triple tree bearings will also cause wobbles.

I just learnt to ride and this go's to tell me that it even happens to the best of us it's even happened to my brother but because I'm still a learner I haven't passed 30 mph (UK speed limit) but sooner or later it only takes a confident and curious mind and I'd have this to, if I don't pay enough attention. But I hope your good max don't die or go to hospital because I need more good shit to watch.
Possible causes of head shake are tyre pressures, wheel balance, binding front brake, worn head bearings or wheel bearings, bent axle, bent forks, bent swing arm, or bent frame.

Holy shit Maxy!! That was one of the most violent tank slappers I've seen on a bike with a damper where the rider stayed on. Kudos to Maxy for the save of a lifetime, what can one do at that point but loosen your grip on the bars and tighten your grip on the tank with your legs. I've watched this at least half a dozen times and it's still just scary the last time, as the first. Glad you're ok bro, your fans couldn't bare to lose you man 🙏😉

I have a 2018 750 & it has a steering damper. Have'nt had any wobble at all in any gear.

I did exactly what all the instructional videos said to do when it happened. I relaxed my grip and just let the bike sort it out. Steering damper probably helped save me, but it was scary none the less.

Speed wobbles=direct result of an undermaintained front suspension system. Dropping the front end hard can cause this. Or, a misaligned/bent steering stem.

U want to get as much weight off ur front wheel as possible. I luckily havnt had speed wobbles before but i was told to try to almost pull a wheely.

@@lokomono89 u just want weight off the front. Pulling a wheely would be safer than staying in a bad wobble. To be fair most wabbles happen at higher speeds than u can pull a wheely so just full throttle and pull all ur weight back if possible.

@ no he is actually correct, I had the same damper on my R6 and how you tighten it is that you twist it for stiffness.. even when Max was doing pulls you can clearly see the wobbles before leading up to the closing of his video, the damper kept on getting lose as the day went on he needs to either get a new one or reinstall his because something isnt right about it..
