  • The Chicago White Sox have not been very good at baseball this year and on top of that they are in the news now for all the wrong reasons. Garret Crochet, a starter who was expected to get dealt at the MLB trade deadline has doubled down on his demands to get an extension if he was to pitch in the playoffs. This has a lot of MLB fans well... upset.

The 98 yankees were 82-29, that's kinda close

Even the 01 mariners were “only” 80-31

I'd take Bauer over him. Also, I'd imagine he'd be somewhat grateful to go from being on the worst team in history to a playoff contender overnight.

Could have done without all the language. Making yourselves sound ignorant and unable to articulate.

You can’t blame the guy for the very innings teams will use against him in negotiations next year, I think it’s a fair and smart move by Crochet (while unpopular) but I’m also of the mindset of extending guys that you trade for and in my teams recent example (Luis Castillo) that was the right thing to do for the Mariners. He’s been on a terrible team and has done everything to make himself a lot of money as a starter if he hits the open market, why should he have to sacrifice all of that for a franchise that’s done nothing for him? Position players don’t have the same injury concerns so that was VERY DISINGENUOUS to rope in all players risking injury everyday
Think of it like a team trading for a RB @ the end of his deal who already had a major injury in the past and is primed for a payday in the off-season with how he’s came back stronger… why should he let a team ride him into the ground, risking him 10s of millions of dollars (oh and things like vesting options exist for IP thresholds)
