Hello! Might I ask if you can estimate how long it took you? I know everyone progresses differently- but if you're okay with it I would love to know ( 〃▽〃) I'm diamond 2 on my second account but I cannot seem to get past Gold 4 on my main account!
@@Hennesse truly sometimes your account is just shadowbanned to a certain Elo , it’s good to have maybe 3 accounts to see where you fall in competitive rankings. For me it’s Masters 3-1 . I have almost 2K hours on mercy playing since 2018. I’d estimate you can Improve your gameplay in 3 days to a week. Watch your replays; reflect on your losses. Greedy rez; not using Valkyrie ; poor positioning ; not prioritizing damage boost on your teammates abilities (Helix ; Railgun ; Javelin; Bastion Tank Configuration) make up how well a mercy is playing. Mercy is a TRIAGE support. Meaning it’s your job to prioritize who needs to stay alive and needs your healing the most depending on the FIGHTS CIRCUMSTANCES AND who can benefit from me DAMAGE BOOSTING them long term and building their ultimate consistently AKA POCKETING. I really should make some mercy tips and tricks videos! Please tell me what you think friend! With watching eleyzhau and this advise backed with intentional gameplay! YOU WILL CLIMB OUT OF GOLD SO FAST!!!!
@@HennesseI really think once you’ve had a few seasons on an account you’re internally locked within a certain bracket; on my main account I can’t get past plat which sucks bc I have almost every skin. But it’s the account I’ve had for 5+ years and siblings, friends, etc. have played it so the ranks have historically been all over the place. I first had this theory when I placed in GM on the switch with my first alt account but figured it was bc console, so then made another PC account and placed in play and ranked to masters. My main account is still perma stuck in plat, I’m one of those players that can go 5-0 and not change ranks. I can’t say for a fact how they internally handicap people, but I would bet my life that it happens.

I do enjoy comp but the que times for support really takes away a lot of my time so I play QP only now :( hopefully it gets tweaked but prbly won't. I actually made it to Masters 3 in the last seasons.

If you're curious, Niandra has a video explaining that. Just search for superjump tutorial on their channel and you should find it, I think. But as a rough explanation: you just look up when you're in range and just about to ress, and press jump and ress at roughly the same time (I personally like to try and press space ever so slightly earlier so that I don't accidentally just stand still). That way you'll do a bunny hop in the direction you're looking, which in this case, is up, so you get a super jump ress.
If you're super close to the soul (like 6 or 7 meters or so) you'll want to ress by doing just a regular mini-super jump with crouch. If you're just a little bit too far, you'll go too high and cancel the ress with this method.

I’ve been having trouble as Mercy lately going up against new Sombra rework. Idk how to go up against her. She can chase me down and melt my hp so easily even after I try to escape with GA. Skill issue on my part probably but like I’d like to not die in the back line 😢
When sombra appears behind you try to go to a dps teammate that provides a bit of cover so they can kill the sombra:)

@@NaomiOW OH YEAH no I remember lol. I guess I have another question then, for console players-what do you recommend having jump bound to? Having to turn the stick and jump is hard unless you play with the claw style which isnt me lol
@@Nicow723 Unfortunately I don't play on console so I have no idea on what good recommendations for that would be, sorry :( There's probably at least one good Mercy main out there on youtube or twitch who does play on console, and then you could look for their settings on their channel or just ask them directly :D
@Nicow723 console player here :) highly recommend switching your rez and jump binds (so rez from r2 to X for me since im on playstation) it helps so much with super jumps, super jump rezzes, and not accidentally falling into a rez while using angelic descent
@@Nicow723also to piggyback on the other person Niandra made a great practice workshop for super jump rezzes. the code should be n9944. i also highly recommend using it. just going into a freeplay and practicing to get the timing right helps a lot. theres also a slowmode mode so you can see exact frames and stuff
As a mercy main, what heroes do you find specifically hard to play against?
When I play mercy I feel like zarya and Genji are the two I die to most, not sure if thats just because I'm garbage or if that's a common mercy enemy. I don't even die much against Moira oof
Bet u didn’t see a DVA that will dash on you whenever she sees you, Zaria is also a bad enemy for mercy
