The 721 is the predecessor to the 732, unfortunately I don't have any schematics for that meter nor do I have any pics handy. I'd suggest opening it carefully and test all the components ..if you think it's a burnt out resistor that should be fairly obvious on the pcb. I repair meters for a living so feel free to email me privately and I can be of more assistance.

That's a good short list. All of these multimeters should serve you well. FYI , I'll be doing a review on the BK2709B next month! Cost wise the SANWA CD732 and the BK 2709B are similar and about 100$ cheaper than their rivals. The Keysight is the only meter in the bunch that SHIPS with a Calibration Certificate, so that's a plus. If cost wasn't a factor I would choose the Keysight on build quality alone. It's built like a tank and they can take alot of abuse. After that it's really close, second choice is either BK Precision 2709B ( Taiwan) or SANWA CD732 (Japan) Both are well built and accurate meters that should last a long time. The BK has the best capacitance range at a whopping 66mF! That's at least 6x better than the rest. Both meters have great continuity and decent input protection and are a great addition to the bench. The SANWA has no backlight so that's a plus for the BK. Hope that helps! Btw, nothing wrong with having a couple cheap multimeters on hand. They can come in quite handy! Thanks for watching.
The Hioki DT4252 was also on the list but it does not support micro-amp. The robustness is less important to me because the device will be bench only in laboratory conditions. It will be very interesting to see your 2709B review, waiting impatiently. Thank you!
FLUKE is made in China now, except for the 85-7. I REFUSE TO BUY ANYTHING FROM CHINA-they have NO QUALITY CONTROL IN CHINA. Rotors for my car were made in China & warped right out of the box!
Some Chinese products are high end (Skywatcher Telescopes for instance) depends on the factories and politics. I've seen horrible multimeters from China and I've seen some very high end...depends on alot of variables. Japanese meters tend to be very well made in General...excellent quality control for the most part.
I got rotors from my car from China And they were warped right out of the box. They did not even put coolant on them on the lathe! The Chinese government wanted us to make a compressor for them for their refineries they sent a wrap from China to make sure no parts went in it it came from China and that all the parts were made in the US. They found one part that came from China and made us disassemble the whole thing. Are used to inspect parts in receiving from China and a good 30 to 40% of them are out of tolerance and could not be used. There is no quality control in China Ford has a class action lawsuit in there fusion transmissions because they’ve got them from China everything from China is junk
@@KeepOnTesting Trust me I bought many chinese products thinking they made of high quality & they improved a lot .. but lol they all died in less than a year .. the recent ones are mostly from Xiaomi Brand
@@TearfulNight indeed, however it all depends.. There are some very high quality Chinese multimeter manufactures now...including UNI-T which has done an outstanding job in recent years. SANWA is a trusted name and you can't beat the Japanese attention to detail...superb!
I own this meter. Very poor selector switch design. Doesn't have the authority while selecting ranges this is clearly visible in this video too. It is having play and will shake your confidence. Wonder how Japanese started designing crap things like this and charging exorbitantly in the market exploiting the company's brand value. Very very bad.
Appreciate your input. I agree the selector is definitely not the best that Sanwa has implemented. Despite this, CD732 dmm is still one of my favorite Sanwa meters. Small size and sheer elegance of the display means this dmm is always on my bench.
