Some of these mods are ancient.. but Dark UI has been mandatory for me since it was released. I sometimes forget it is not the default game UI tbh.

When I was looking at the list, I figured “crop fencing” was a mod that made it easier to sell stolen crops, cause like realistically it shouldn’t be THAT hard to sell stolen vegetables.
You really shouldn't be selling vegetables of any kind, stolen or not, they're not worth anything

@@KokoplaysMB Revisiting your review just now was very telling to a question I’d been asking myself since finally trying out mods the last few days.
In the matter of Kaizo and Genesis vs Reactive World, those other two just aren’t in your top 20… it’s been hard getting a clear ranking on Reddit. Mods of such a scale are so objectively impressive I think it’s hard for folks to say anything bad about them. Even your dismissal of the other two came with a generally positive appraisal of them. You could probably spend a whole video just comparing these three overhauls, not even necessarily ranking them, though that could be fun too.
@@chazblank2717 I'm doing a Genesis playthrough now..and it definitely has some issues, like the recurring "mobs walk through walls" bug, but in towns, so NPCs occasionally pop up in my house, which can be problematic since I'm in Mongrel atm
Use universal wasteland, reactive world, and living world (there are add on mods to make them compat) genesis sucks because it can make your game unplayable and is full of bugs and optimization issues
One of my favorite mods ever is a mod called organic limbs. Lets you craft prosthetics out of severed limbs, and I simply love love love mixing and matching limbs. Also now I have a habit of collecting limbs, which gives me a newfound appreciation for the peeler.
Also yeah these mods are pretty short, basic and old. I clicked on this tier list hoping to find some great mods I mightve missed out on, but nope.
I made a mod video like that some time ago where you might find some new mods. This one is about ranking the most popular ones, I didn't pick them out specifically, they're the 20 most popular on steam.

It would be interesting to hear your perspective on more "overhaul" mods. Genesis, Universal Wasteland Expansion, Kaizo, and Living World. At this stage, most Kenshi fans are looking for that 2nd, 3rd, 4th playthrough. Wow, looking at your videos, you and I have a surprising amount of overlap in the games we enjoy. You may enjoy "Stalker Gamma." Just finished a Starsector playthrough with a bunch of mods. Great game.
I've played a lot with all of the overhaul mods you mentioned, they all get big thumbs up from me.
yeah id love a video on kenshi overhaul mods too. especially since im now looking at something to change the game enough to make it feel new
Re_kenshi isn't popular but it is incredible. It provides attack slots, performance improvements, customisable speed options, further camera distance scroll and fixes the RNG bug (Same NPCs in same locations even non unique)
Once I started using it I can't play without it
I'm thinking about getting into modding, gotta great idea for a group of brutal hash smoking monks the Monks of So-Hy. They do stuff like requiring a tribute of hash that has to be farmed by the PC with increasing quota's otherwise they will launch invasions on the PCs base that can be a little brutal.
That sounds like a great faction actually
You should do a tier list of your favourite base locations in kenshi. Could make for a cool video.

I prefer Strength Gain Re-imagined. Less strength gain from running around overencumbered, more from swinging heavy weapons.

I don't understand people's obsession with Dark UI. Its ok I guess but not even close to mandatory. I have it and will probably keep it because its whatever and it definitely doesn't make the game any worse, but I never had any problem with the vanilla UI. I didn't feel like the dark UI was a significant improvement. It was fine before and its still fine.

Am i the only one that figured out that building a well and a tank on 2 sides of your base and having 1 person hauling water set to "walk" (you get the same XP as going full speed) while all the others follow him with the trader back pack filled with ore carrying a dead animal.
faster than the benches.
just delete the tank once it hits 100 and you don't have to deal with all that water.
Great idea. I had thought of the water hauling strat, but never occurred to me to have people follow you instead of also haul water
This list brought a lot of mods that went under the radar. I love the fact the mods focus on making the game better or fun. You even went the extra mile of giving your opinion without just saying, "Its bad" or, "It's good." You actually explain why

When thinking which mod would be deserving of S tier, I thought to myself that it should be a mod that everyone playing kenshi would always want installed, no matter their playstyle or personal preference.
Compressed textures seemed like the obvious pick for me:
-Cuts down on loading time
-Doesn't rely on personal preference or a certain playstyle
When you said that you don't use the mod and that you're putting it in B tier, you managed to kill me twice in the span of 10 seconds

@@KokoplaysMB Do you mean that it barely cuts down on loading time? For me and many others, the difference is quite significant, but I can see that if you gave a high end computer, that a difference in loading times might not be noticeable.
Or do you mean that the content of the mod is limited, that it doesn't change the gameplay itself? Well, in that case, why is something like dark UI in S?
@@bobthebox2993 High end computer doesnt make a difference in Kenshi, I believe. The game engine can only handle one CPU Core. I have a very good gaming laptop, but the game still stutters and it has long loading times in certain areas when cities are loading. This mod has reduced loading times significantly. No more issues running around with 3x accelerated time.
@@Gentleman...Driver there is programs that can force any game/application to use another core so you make the game run on core two or whatever and improves performance.
@@metroiddoom5178 Not sure if this works with all games. I assume the Kerbal Space Program community would have figured it out if that was a possibility.
The video would have been better if you've added a game play or image to actually showcase what each mod adds to the vanilla game.
The weight training mod and vanilla strength train both suck. If you load up a heavy backpack you can just run around a friendly town completely safely, even safer than in your own outpost. Or, just run around your own outpost with the backpack on. I don't really see a way to make strength training great, but either way weight bench is a lot more fun than the tedium of micro'ing a person to run up and down squin over and over
you can use Patrol by Control Points mod

I agree..the bench is nice, as is the advanced training dummies mod for when I use things like stronger group combat. Until I'm able to craft it, I do go through the vanilla tedium though, but kinda RP it as recruit training for new hires
I have the weight training mod but never use it. I just rush get a bull or garru and fill their pack with water, take the pack off and put it in the trainee’s inventory and have them carry a dead body while set to haul water or work various farms etc…
Genesis mod is just loaded with the most nonsensical garbage that doesn't belong in the Kenshi world. It's so bloated with unnecessary, bizarre, and utterly downright horrendous mods that will 1. crash your game, 2. corrupt your save later on, 3. render entire cities uninhabitable because of fps death. It also makes EXTREMELY MAJOR changes to the landscape, which impacts pathfinding worse than what it already is. The new NPCs and locations are terribly buggy where buildings will be clipping inside of each other, NPCs will be attacking their own faction which effectively causes a civil war (I don't even know how this would be possible based on looking at FCS, but hey, this is genesis, the buggiest mod ever made.) Overall, nothing it adds would measure up to even mediocre quality. Absolutely horrendous.

I dont have such issues with Genesis. Only ran into one area that was crashing the game, even imports didnt help. But the rest seems fine. No pathfinding issues (well, at least not more than vanilla), no NPCs attacking their own people,... I think the map looks nicer and more realistic than vanilla. I dont like that in Vanilla EVERY building is leaning... There went so much time in remodelling the places, making them a bit more believable and more atmospheric in my opinion, but okay...
Have played with Genesis as it was quite new and I am doing right now a playthrough. Seems fine to me.
One of my favourite mods is the "Outlander" viking mod on the steam workshop. Adds a small viking inspired faction, new game start option, their gear and a small village for them. They can sometimes be seen fighting the berserkers in mass melee's in Berserker Country which adds a reason to travel there. But mostly it is for the gear.
Yet they feel completely natural in the world of Kenshi the way their gear look and act. It does not feel like someone just copy pasted vikings into Kenshi.
Tbh dark ui mod is great but I wouldn't say it's s tier. It has screen size compatibility issues due to the game which can be very annoying. Some people have no problems while others can't even see the stats of their players
Which mod gives funny cursing dialogues to npcs?
With all the training dummies mods add I just create a little story to justify using them. Best example are the Ancient training Mk II that i think genesis adds that are completely OP. So I put them in a temple and only chosen characters in the band that had "seen the light" or had a higher calling could use them and for restricted amounts. Standard self authoring Kenshi fun.
So like, the only thing I agree with is Slopeless in S-Tier.
Strength training and population do not even make my list, simply because I just edit these values myself so I need no mod for it.
The map for zones and roads would be an S-Tier for me in all honesty, and clearly you forgot the ACTUAL MUST HAVE mod for Kenshi.... Silent Corpse Flies !! I literally cannot imagine ever playing without it anymore....the corpseflies just drive me crazy, especially when the sound bugs out and is constant / until you reload @___@
Generally recruit prisoner mods are good, making it less tedious to get recruits and I like building my people up from the ground. So with the exception of specific bounties i just recruit all the jaglongers, hotlongs, meows and whatnots of the world !
Better Crop Fences also easily S-Tier for me. Like you said, the vanilla 'fences' for your farms are just...nearly nonexisting lol
Also, I like the Vanilla Game UI to be honest, looks as rusty and sandy as the Kenshi deserts and that makes it kind of fitting in my opinion XD

Gotta say my all time favourite mod for kenshi is the MORE ANIMATIONS mod. Seriously i dont think i could go back after seeing my heavy shek jump up and smash someones head in with a frag axe. Not to mention the extra dodge animations, so cool.

The mods you listed are all great mods. But come on... Those are some of the first mods ever released. They are popular when making your own modpack. But they are standard mods. They are not better or worse then all the others. They should absolutley be apart of the base game. The modpacks I listed have substantial differences between them and take extensive patching to use them together. For example You can play UWE and Kaiso togegther. You cane even add General Modicications to it but its not very well balanced.
My list would look like this
1. Universal Wasteland Expanded and Kaizo modpack collection
2. Blood and Sand Collection
3. Genesis Collection
5. General Modifications Collection
6. The Outbreak
All of these can be found on steam workshop collections with a search and I would use the one you prefer as base kenshi.
As I said, I ranked the 20 most popular mods on Steam, not the 20 I'd choose as my favorite.
Also I prefer to set up my own mod packs, a lot of those you listed have mods in there that totally doesn't fit my Kenshi vibe.
How is no cut efficiency not the number one most popular mod?

There is a overhaul mod "odyssey". It's quite good even though it's on beta.

personal favorite of mine was kenshi kaizo but hasn’t been updated in some years and unfortunately has some pretty sucky bugs and crashing that makes it not worth it
I use Kaizo in pretty much every playthrough but I don't really see any issues or bugs happening with it.
@@KokoplaysMB Huh, maybe im misremembering. I couldn't find any substantial bugs from a quick search. Might be thinking of the issues with compatibility but the main one was with cannibals expanded which has a premade patch already on the workshop.

I’m just getting into kenshi. I’m wondering if I should get some mods for qol and to help with loading and etc. I want to get most of these mods if it keeps the world difficulty the same and not terribly harder because I’m a newb. Are all these mods compatible?
For your first playthrough I'd recommend keeping it vanilla, then you can slowly start adding mods when you're ready.
Can u do one on the minor factions? It would take forever if you went in-depth so I mean a “quick” ranking type of vid.

You can use recruit anyone mod to recruit them or go into editor and edit in a start that will allow you to play as one.

Dark Ui is cool and all but the rusted ui in vanilla is top tier. Its litterally rusted😂could never be plain. And ppl use dark ui for their eyes not cause the original is ugly. Had to rant cause the vanilla ui is too nice

@@fargoth391 I have a monster PC, so outside of chugging on occasion when loading zones I haven't recently been to I haven't experienced any of that. Never had the civil war thing happen. I guess I'm lucky? I can understand your feelings with those issues though.
