Back in the day gangs used to hang out in the center of the bridge. They would have watch-outs at each end identify potential victims. Once in the middle of the span, the victims would lose their belongings and phones making them incapable of asking for help. The center gang will split and no one is caught.
BTW, gotta do Food Bazaar in Red Hook to get that unobstructed view of the Statue. Then hit IKEA for some clean bathrooms.
