Just when i was wondering where Rebecca Pidgeon had gone off to... What a surprise to find you here knocking out one of the hardest Beatles songs live without any assistance. Sign me up!
@@rebeccapidgeonmusic I am so glad you're here! I went to Goddard College after David and William did and just heard it shuttered it's doors for good this year. I dunno if you spent much time in Plainfield but it was really a magical place. State and Main felt so much like my time living in Montpelier too thank you for that, you captured the true Vermonter hustler and brilliance that is impossible to describe to the uninitiated (and having spent so much time at Bear Pond books at State and Main st. in MontP, i know this well. You're the brass ring, babe. Stay magical I have to go listen to your stuff now what an embarrassment of riches you are xoxo.
Dang! I didn't even KNOW this could be solo. This is great. Let me tell you, when this song came out in real time in the late 60s, it scared the heck out of me; plus I thought it was just a mess. I had to grow into it. And I did. Thank you.
You are so gifted, Rebecca! I'm extremely impressed and wish I had your abilities. I don't have half the singing voice you do and can't play guitar at all. Thank you so much for this amazing performance of another one of my favorite Beatles songs. You are a beautiful gift to this world on so many levels it's just silly. Thank you for making my life more filled with fun, joy and amazement. 🙏
This is one of my favorite Beatles songs, and not an easy one to cover, but you really nailed it, dear beautiful RP! You’ve captured the spirit of the surrealistic pillow of winds and the Edgar Allan Pancakes of it all. Ce n'est pas une couverture? Blessings upon your home and camels... 🐫
Excellent cover Rebecca. You really captured the feeling of the original with just your guitar and voice. I read that John Lennon wrote these nonsensical words because he'd heard that academics had been analyzing the Beatles' lyrics. Great song, I've always loved it.
Not an easy song to cover with due diligence to the emotion of the song, but you did. You have a real gift for honoring the originals you cover and yet, still make them your own. Good on you. Cheers\=/\=/
Awesome awesome sharing dear friend ❤️ Really enjoyed watching and listening to this beautiful song 😍🎧🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Super big big like thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 See you again keep intouch ❤️
Excellent interpretation and thanks for letting me discover this song, I didn't know it, it's a masterpiece. I've never liked the Beatles even though I recognize their value, I've always noticed that their composition was excellent but something was missing in their performance, too much "simple". Jimi Hendrick didn't have this problem in my opinion. Even "tomorrow never knows" is a song that I appreciate, out of time, it anticipated the Chemical Brothers/fat boy slim/Prodigy by 40 years. I discovered your music in 2019, with 'it was a window lit in the dark, from which came music with unique sounds, I had never heard a song with that way of singing, I quickly took the Shazam from my smartphone and it was Grandmother, one of the best songs I have ever heard, then I discovered that you were the Hollywood Vermont actress, a cult for my life Thanks for your work from Italy ;-)
Gosh Moramax thank you for telling me your story! I’m so glad you enjoyed this rendition of Walrus- it is quite a composition this song. And how wonderful that you like my music. All the best!
Well that is pretty impressive. A cover with others would have given a lot of good harmonies, but it is impressive that you did the song and its facets yourself. As others have said here, wouldn't think it possible, for a solo person to make so good. It is from love and skill...always remembering , of course, that (here's a little clue for you all...the Walrus was Paul...)
So this is Rebecca Pidgeon, the actress from the movie ""Spanish Prisoner"? Never would have guessed. This is a great solo arrangement of this song. I'll have to hear more. Probably the glasses kept me from recognizing her.
There's really nothing more phenomenal to add to these comments, that has ALREADY been fully said. I will say however, as a retired radio broadcaster & concept/concert producer, most of the time, when I come across a stripped-down "Vocal/Guitar" vignette here on good ol' fashion You Tube, it's just that; bare-bones, stripped-down & a bit lifeless. HOWEVER, I have to say & congratulate YOU on both style of production with vocal & guitar AND the way you mixed it down with ample...JUST THE RIGHT...amount of compression, reverb effect, room ambience and everything it takes to make it work for you. And I really mean that. I was so pleasantly surprised. We all wish to hear more soon. Oh yes, I must end off here in the epilogue; I feel your husband did an EXCELLENT job with his HBO film in 2013. "YOU" really convinced ME, that indeed, the 'White Coat"...would have been TOTALLY DRENCHED! PS: Your closing song during the credits WAS EVEN WAY BETTER, than that darn White Coat!!!
