I remember seeing For Colored Girls on Broadway (1977) and hearing the song "I Found God in Myself, and I loved her dearly." The message about the true nature of God was there for a long time.
This is one of my favorite movies. It was in heavy rotation in my household & i can quote it verbatim. Fun Fact: Robert Townsend auditioned for the role of Harpo.
