its actually true that pregnant women are at an increased risk of violence. i think the stat is that they're twice as likely to die by homicide than other pregnancy complications during that period.

I will never understand how someone could kill a pregnant woman, or any innocent person for that matter, and in the case of domestic violence I just don’t get how someone might think that the easiest way of avoiding responsibility is to kill it! Not only does doing such a thing tell you a lot about how twisted someone’s mind is, but also that they’re just plain stupid.
