Jadzia Dax was a great character and Terry Farrell played her beautifully. Tears of the Prophets was a truly sad episode. A real shame they had to kill her off. What they could had done, instead of Dax dying, in case Terry Farrell changed her mind about leaving DS9, Series 6 could had ended with Dax falling into a coma and recover at the beginning of the final season. I've begun to have a better understanding about the Dax symbiont. I believe lots of fans were really confused because they thought Jadzia was Curzon hence Sisko calling her "Old Man". Jadzia Dax isn't Curzon Dax. When the Dax symbiont was transplanted into Jadzia's body, she inherited Curzon's memories and a part of Curzon lives on within her. Poor Worf and Sisko. I am glad Sisko avenged her in the final season. Jadzia now lives on within Ezri.
She was and is and will always be one of my absolute favorite Star Trek characters.😎👍

Are you going to do a vid on Dax and its many hosts? You cover some of it here. You did not mention a historical moment in the episode 'Rejoined.' Terry Ferrell (Jadzia) and Susanna Thompson (Lenara Kahn who used to be Dax's wife) had a scene where the ladies kissed. The first same-sex kiss in Star Trek was almost as controversial as the mixed-race kiss back in TOS.
Wasn't Susanna Thompson also Borg queen ?
I might do a Dax history in the not-too-distant future. Histories with multiple ships are people in it take a bit longer to make. Some of the history of cut out for time.
Was she the second Borg Queen? I know Alice krige was the first.
@@OmegaOrdained I think they both played the queen. Not sure which one was first. Both actresses look similar.
Oh wow I didn't know that, I thought there was only two actresses that played the queen. Alice krige was in first Contact, and the last episode of Voyager. A different actress played the Borg Queen in the middle

@@OmegaOrdained Perhaps the writers for SG1 were also Startrek fans ? But the joined Trill on DS9 seemed slightly different than the original Trill on the TNG episode "the host". Jadzia enjoyed a blended relationship with her symbiote, while ambassador Odan seemed to completely suppress his hosts (which would make him more Goa'uld like).
That would be funny if there were two factions of trill's. I know the guy from TNG when they first introduced the trill physically looked different as well.
@@jacksonheathen2092 they did that because one of the show runners said the actress was too pretty to be covered in the full Trill makeup. This was later explained away in a novel as being the result of the same virus that altered TOS era Klingons

Judzia & Ezri were both really good characters. But of the two, I would have to say that Ezri was cuter. 😆

No I don't think so. I believe the Symbiote has no gender. But carries the memories of all of the previous host whether they be male or female. The new host can remember being a woman or a man, due to these memories from the Symbiote.😎👍
1:28 i thought Curzon was the same person as Jadzia. Heard it was a trans person?
Hello Jordan, Dax is the name of the worm symbiote. The memories from past hosts are transferred from this worm. When one of us dies the worm is moved to a another body, who then shares the memory of past hosts😎👍
