I had the honor to see one of Red Skelton show live. I saw many shows, living in L.A. Talk shows, sitcoms, and shows such as this. What amazed me when attending shows in person was how often the "star" seem to care less about the audience when the cameras were off, but, Red knew how to treat his audience, even when the camera were off he made a point to make us feel special. He truly cared and worked to make people happy.

Well they obviously can’t be focused in the audience when they have costly expenses and a show to do

@@Engelhafen I might agree if all did the same, however, some like Steve Allen, Joey Bishop, Merve Griffen who also had costly expenses gave time to the studio audience.

I totally agree. I was a big fan of Red's growing. I recall being upset with my drivers training class in the mid 60s being on Tuesday night when he was on and missed a bunch of his shows. :)

"I am a Rock" was listed in the music clearance sheets and there are photos of S&G on top of a big guitar but the song was not broadcasted.

Thanx again, Red Skelton Museum, for sharing!
Always a pleasure to see a post from you.
So great to be able to see darling Red again. Mama and daddy and I used to gather together on the couch to watch him on our new color console tv, with the stereo combination.
    I miss those days.
RIP, Red, mama and daddy, and thanx so so very much for the magic, music, and memories.

Arguably, one of the most underappreciated songs from Simon & Garfunkel..and rarely performed on television…except here..”The Dangling Conversation”…thanks Red

S&G also did "I Am A Rock" on this episode. Not sure who posted it before, but I do remember seeing this show posted earlier this year and it also did not have I AM A ROCK included in it. That's okay........any Red Skelton Show is good to watch a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time.............

"Rock" was listed but not on this tape. Once again I goofed and trusted a source. I will go to files and see if can find more info.

That was along dance sequence after the monologue which could have been used for Simon and Garfunkel to sing I AM A Rock.
