    I've seen the community say that pickpocketing is broken in this game. For that reason I think you should have a gadgeteer instead of a rogue always

      @ImmanuelCan  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, I mean you can pickpocket, and you can get some nice stuff from it, but in general it's not necessary and not worth it :D If you know where to look, you are swimming in treasure and money anyway without many detours :)

    Great video! Playing through the game for the first time and found this video after I got Madras in the party and went on the internet to find some tips on how to use build him. You talk at 11:15 about where should you place your character, why excatly is that important? does a character's place in the roster afect anything?

    • @ImmanuelCan
      @ImmanuelCan  Před 4 lety +2

      Thank You and welcome! Now:
      It's absolutely important, even more at the start - after moving in turn-based mode of combat, the order of your actions is determined by the placement in the roster. Top left => top right => middle left => ... (you get it). So you want the buffers and debuffers to act first and the damage dealers to act last so they have access to all the buffs cast before and the enemies are already debuffed before the damage dealers act and "throw the dice for the to-hit chance" and similar things. So you should place the buffers in the top spots, so they can buff the debuffers, then the debuffers that (already buffed up) have a chance to debuff the enemies, then the damage dealers who will be buffed and acting against debuffed enemies (optimal to hit and damage output).
      It's vital to move in tough fights, especially using walls and edges to stop dangerous groups of opponents, especially casters, so they cannot throw all their magic at you at once.

    We all know the best gadgeteers are furry, often shoeless little characters, like Ratchet, Rocket Raccoon, or in this game, Madras.

    • @ImmanuelCan
      @ImmanuelCan  Před 4 lety +4

      Ok, I'll give you that, it makes sense a lot. Hobbits are at least half-furry. Well, they have furry feet. Maybe that can count as an excuse?

      @@ImmanuelCan Maybe. They don't use footwear either, and they are small.

      Should have included the Felpurr and Rawulf more, I see it now. It's what they have in common!

    How do you craft something? Like that tripleshot crossbow you mentioned.

    • @ImmanuelCan
      @ImmanuelCan  Před 3 lety +1

      You need to use the combine button (the two arrows pointing to one thing). Click thing, click button, click other thing... combined.. if your skill is good enough.
      For the tripleshot crossbow you need a high engineering skill. You combine two light crossbows to a doubleshot crossbow, already good, then with high enough skill you can combine the doubleshot with another light crossbow... then: Tripleshot Crossbow.
      Other examples would be combining potions to more powerful potions using the Alchemy skill. Two light heal potions will become a moderate heal potion for example.
      Doing this will also level up your skills!
      All the best, your Immanuel Can

      You use the Merge Item option. To make a doubleshot crossbow, you need 2 light crossbows, and 35 Engineering. To make a tripleshot crossbow, you need 1 light crossbow, 1 doubleshot crossbow, and 75 engineering.

    Hello friend could you make a special let's play of Dual hybrids characters for us too ?

    • @ImmanuelCan
      @ImmanuelCan  Před 5 lety +1

      Oh my good man, dual hybrids is something I've always avoided to do because I don't really see where it would bring me or others a good experience. That is the very reason I am very interested in your try and the stories coming out of it :-)
      I had tested this theoretically with Wiz 7 builds, and thought about it in Wiz 8, but I'm not convinced. Someone has to convince me and show me the light. You could be that one :)
      Also, I'm still invested in 3 other RPG projects that I want to complete. Then though it HAS to be a Wizardry 8 run again. So there's plenty of time to give me reasons :D

    I am playing Wizardry 8 for the first time and I want to start with a gadgeteer. This video was useful. I must say though, it was extremely annoying hearing to your gasping and running out of breath between sentences. Get a inhaler buddy, do some exercise that increase your lung capacity to. Peace.

    • @ImmanuelCan
      @ImmanuelCan  Před 7 lety +4

      Great the video helped you :) Seems like I shouldn't have recorded it then. When I did, I had a severe cold, still only my old headset microphone recording more breathing noise than voice and yeah.. had pretty bad nights as our babies were very young then. :D
      So don't worry, I should be able to outwalk most joggers again as I walk ferociously and love it and my breathing is OK.
      Maybe I should rerecord the video with a better sound quality :D have to look into that.
