Heyy Ruth, the place is truly beautiful and this was our second time here. First time we didn't have any issues, and it was just this one incident with the said duty manager but we are yet to receive any communication in regards to action taken by the management.
Regardless, we didn't let it spoil our holiday❤. Thank you ❤❤

Hi Mariie and Eamon this video is so nice in spite of the difficulty you experienced the evening before. Continue to enjoy yourselves and bask in the joy and happiness of your engagement. I had an idea of what you could do with some of the beautiful shells that you collected. How about enlarging your favorite engagement pictures and put them in nice wooden frames and glue some of the shells on each corner. Also, do a picture taken on Congo River and add some shells as well. Just a thought❤️🥰❤️.

What? I'm so much shocked! That was indeed a rude behaviour. Coast region is extremely hot and not convenient for long pants. I was in prideinn flamingo beach resort and spa earlier this year together with my man and when I was packing the suitcase I packed for him only shorts coz I understand how humid and hot the area is. The hotel didn't have a problem with anyone going for meals at the restaurant with shorts. The only thing they don't allow at the restaurant is swimming costumes, PJ's, wet clothes/feet after swimming.
A big shame on them!

Hello mariie I don't know when you visited Diani since the vlog is two days ago .... I'm also here 11th 12th,13th14th &15th/4/24 visited Kongo river too for the second time now . Diani beach is amazing. We also did wasini island . Wish I saw you there around 🤩

what i know about dress code is there for some of this hotels u cant wear a short for meals . Most kenyans they will rather live in apartments than hotels,simple(save),otherwise i would say management problem.Labour rights i think they are not adhered to.SORRY for that,vacations can also have disadvantages.hope you had your time.

Sorry about the many disappointments. I have realized you are losing money to people who disrespect people's financial effort.the house, the river hotel and now those guys too....to much dears indeed. But handle it deligently,you gonna recover your money in Jesus'name...... with time.❤❤

My caucasian husband and i have been to Diani 3 times and i think that many resorts treat black women who have a white man VERY poorly because they imagine we are prostitutes and they are paying for the service, but thats not the case many of us are innocent, and me and my husband met in europe where i was already living and working, so YES you were picked on coz of colour.

I stayed there in Nov last year and that rule caught me off guard, I had two dresses that I kept repeating for dinner 😂. And yes 90% of clients are whites more so Germans..
That worker was utterly rude. That’s double standard and the hotel should make the rules known before guests book their stay. And the audacity of allowing other guests who are not observing the dress code to go by and telling you he’s not addressing them. What!!! If it’s a rule, everyone must be addressed. What is this? Pick a guest to harass tonight day? And that’s discrimination and obvious racism. I’m sorry but I’m calling it out! That individual needs to be trained as well. Shouting at his coworker as though she’s a child is not acceptable. He should not only be reprimanded but some consequences to his actions must be done. And to know that you have paid for your meal in the package. I bet if it was not in advance they would not be so rude and bossy. This is beyond me. And to tell you that you have to eat in the hot restaurant so no one can see you!! Ugh!! It’s like he’s putting you on time out or at the kiddies table because of bad behavior. Total disrespect!!!
He definitely intended to be disrespectful to us..and moreso to me. To make it worse, the hotel management did nothing about it. It felt awful to face colorism in your own country from your own people💔. I suppose such is life.

What?????? Am a Kenyan married and based in France.... We were there a month ago( I, my french hubby, our two children, my Kenyan cousins and my nephew).I went to the restaurant in shorts! My hubby wore Bermudes every night and day!! No one said anything to him. I love Papillon Lagoon reef but am very disappointed on how they treated you.
Dress code blabla is written on the the notes you find in room (on the desk).

My point exactly! There was plenty of people in casual beach wear during the dinner at the restaurant and he specifically picked on us. It might have been the individual's fault but we did lodge a formal complaint to the management and we are yet to receive any form of communication that action has been taken against that behavior. I'm still in shock tbh. They've definitely lost me as a client.

I am embarrassed listening to the whole scene you guys had. I wonder why they have that stupid rule of controlling adult dressing? Is it a religious resort? Like owned or run by a religious institution? I can't imagine being on vacation and someone is on my neck about what I am wearing. And the fact that they don't have it on the website is crazy coz they know no one will book with those backward rules. But also I think you mentioned this is the same you stayed last time was it like that last time??

Funny enough, last time it wasn't the same. The rules were there but hidden in a notebook on the table in the rooms. It wasn't a big deal and no one adhered to those rules anyway especially because it was around high season and they were nearly fully booked so I think there was too many people. But And no one told us about the rules either, we just came across them.
It's not a religious resort..not to our knowledge and certainly not indicated on their website. To say that I was embarassed that this happened to me in my own country is an understatement🤦♀️
