Shakhsiyat with Teejan Bai

Teejan Bai is an exponent of Pandavani, a traditional performing art form, from Chhattisgarh, in which she enacts tales from the Mahabharata with musical accompaniments. Interestingly, as the performance progresses, the Tambura becomes her only prop during her performances. She uses it in various ways throughout the performance. The same Tambura becomes Arjun's Gada; his bow; chariot or even Draupadi's hair at various points, allowing her to play various characters with effective ease and candour.
