- Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) is an absolute beauty. This is indeed a journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes I have witnessed. To be able to witness an 8000m+ peak, to be able to stand in front of one of the tallest structures on Earth, it was definitely surreal and a feeling that I will cherish forever. Keep trekking!
And this is a complete guide to any possible doubts that you may have regarding the trek. Should you still have questions, feel free to ask in the comments. We will be more than happy to help!

I completed this trek in December of last year, entirely on my own (solo), finishing it within just six days. I highly recommend that everyone consider taking on this must-do trek, and if possible, embark on it solo.
Yep, definitely quite the beauty. It being commercial, definitely helps the newer trekkers as well! 🙌
Completed it June 2018. I however, do not recommend solo trek. When I was decending, I reached a point where I got lost a little and had to go through a gushing river with a log acting as a bridge. If I fall, noone will know I died there. But that became a story to tell. Lol. I guess June being the low season without much trekker on the road didn't help either.
How was the weather in December?
@@MrGoo189 how was the weather? Was it rainy?
Can Indians trek alone to ABC, is it compulsory to hire a guide?

Awesome video

Awesome 👌
Glad you liked it. Thank you so much!! 😀
Superb video guide. Systematic, 5-Star voice clarity, crisp yet complete, appropriate visuals. Pl suggest the fitness regime for a 64 years, of course not asking for shortcuts. Keep it up 👍
Thank you so much for your kind words! Really appreciate it!
Glad you liked the video, Sir.
I am happy that at 64 you are willing to attempt this trek. And it is very much doable.
We are not per se so we might not necessarily be best suited to give you a fitness regime. Even though in the video, I have mentioned 10km in 60 minutes as the cut-off. If you do 5km in 30 minutes that is also good enough. Maybe you can start with walking daily, then jogging and condition your body to somewhere around 5km in 30 minutes mark.
Additionally, you can choose to take a couple days extra on the trek to make sure you do not overexert your body. Also, hire a porter
to carry your backpack. Between all these things I think you should be good to go.
Hope this helps! 😀
Planning for October 3rd week ❤
Definitely a wonderful time to do this trek. Hope you have a wonderful experience!! 🤘🏽
Very very informative❤

Very helpful 😊
Glad you found it helpful! Thank you!! 😀
Concise and informative video

The best guide to any trek/country i have ever seen. Such detailed information with beautiful animations. Just a small suggestion, to cut 3-4 small clips of this long video so that you can get more people to watch this. Overall the best guide ever. I really like the personal ratings section.
Hey Pratik! Thanks so much man for appreciating our efforts and taking time out to comment and help us out! Means a ton!
We have made few shorts and reels from our trip! They weren't exactly clips of this video but from our experience.
We are falling short on editing videos right now, but suggestion taken and will try and play around clipping this video itself in future for more content and reaching more people!
Cheers! 🤙🏼
Thanks
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks. It really goes a long way in ensuring that we are able to make more such helpful guides!! 😀🙌
There are taxis/buses till Jhinu. So you can like save a day in the trek.

Very helpful information well presented. Do you have the same for Langtang trek as well ?
Thank you so much for letting us know and very glad that it wad helpful!
Unfortunately we haven’t done the Langtang trek to be able to make a reliable guide like this for it!
Hopefully soon in future 😄
Thanks Bro 😅 from Pokhara Nepal 😅
Glad you liked the video. Pokhara is a beautiful place indeed!! 😍
amazing video! Thank you
Thanks so much for appreciating! 🙌🏽
The trail passes through multiple settlements and villages. So you will be able to follow it.
Also it is well marked on All Trails so you can use offline GPS to find your way.
And you can keep asking locals for directions as you will keep meeting people on the trail.
It's a Sonali border.
Looks amazing! I am planning to do this trip to in April this year. Can you recommend your guide? Which company did you use?
Hey, the company we went with just acted as the middlemen and passed the lead on to a local agency. The person who is running the local agency is Mr. Subeed (Ph. No. +91 9886274292). Gyalje Sherpa works with him.
Thanks.You re very helpfull.
What is the most exciting trek in Nepal for you and why?
Glad you found the video helpful. Thank you!
ABC is the only trek we have done so far in Nepal. won't be able to answer the question from personal experience. 😅
Great video. Which month was this?
October 2022
Thank you for appreciating 🙌🏽💛
Very informative and helpful video! I think this is one of the most densely packed videos on the ABC trek I have seen. Thank you. I don't mind getting a guide as this will be my first time in Nepal but I am concerned it may be difficult to find a guide service that will not try and charge me for many extras and other services I don't need.
I will be there in a week. Is the guide you recommended still working there? I was planning to find one in Pokhara when I get there vs trying to find something online.
I bought a sleeping bag but do you think its not necessary? Perhaps I will use on other treks but it does add weight and bulk on the hike so should I leave at the hotel and not take it w me on the ABC?
Glad you liked the video. 😀
As for your queries, yes you can find a guide in Pokhara. You can check with your stay, most probably they should be able to get it done. But try and have a few days buffer in case you are getting the guide from Pokhara. Otherwise, you can contact the guide from the video. If his number doesn't work, feel free to contact Subeed Ji (+91 9886274292).
You do not need a sleeping bag on this trek. You will find proper tea houses to stay in everywhere. However, do make sure to wear clothing in layers to keep yourself warm at night.
Can you suggest any trek that is suitable for beginners?
We are planning for this trek in October, can i get hotels on the way of trekking without package
Hello! I have a question if you book a guide do they also make sure you have a place to sleep in the teahouses?
Hiring a locally registered guide is compulsory now. And yes they try to take care of the bookings so that you have a seamless experience. 😀
It was really a helpful video for those who are planning for ABS trek! May I know which time of the year you did visit?
Thank you so much for appreciating! Means a ton 😄
I did this in October 2022
Thanks for replying, keep exploring😎
Most treckers could do it alone and do not need guid, and paying for guid in a way for some travellers are not afordable, if they force me to have guid maybe I should forget the treck and cancel it, bcz its expensive for me and I know I could do it alone, while treckers eat and sleep in each day of trecking, it make income for Nepali people, which is really good, also while treckers pay about 50dollars for permit, it would also good income for them, so please do not make it mandatory to have guid bcz most treckers would cancel their trecking and it wont be rewarding for Nepal's tourism industry.... tnx for your video💯
Hey, you are right that hiring a guide adds to the cost. Nepal Tourism Board has done it ensure safety of its trekkers, given a few incidents that have happened. Can't do much about it now. 😅
Can't believe this video has under 1000 views...
That makes the two of us man. But glad that you liked the video!! 😀
Are there teahouses on ABC or will we have to stay at Machhapuchhre Base Camp the night prior ABC?
Hey Prajakta, there are tea houses available throughout the trek, including at the ABC. You can very well stay in the tea houses at ABC, just be mindful that it will a little colder. 😊
How do you edit your videos man, which Software or app you use?
Hey, we edit our video on Adobe Premiere Pro. But a lot of the graphics in this one are made on Canva and then imported in Premiere Pro.
The cost of guide & porter is per person or fixed which can be split among the group of Trekkers.
Can we also add poon hill to the Itenirary. Pls guide.
TIA
There is a minimum cost per person for the Guide and the porter. However, if there is a group, the cost does go up but not in the multiples per person rather the Guide will charge a lump sum for the entire group and it can be split amongst all of you.
Same with the porters. Don’t have info about Poon hill. If nearby, you can definitely request your guide for the same
Thanks for the infos. Which travel agency to join?
You're welcome. The organization we did it with just acted as the middleman and passed on the lead.
In the video, you will find the number for the guide Gyalje Sherpa, who took us on this trek. 😀
Hi there, what was the name of the waterfall .
Deurali Waterfall
Does it rain a lot in Spring?
Towards the tail end of the spring it might start to rain but I wouldn't expect it to be too over the top.
bro Will the view be available in the last week of June?
Thnx
Difficult, our guess is that it will be cloudy and rainy so less views!
Hi bro.. great great video... ! jus need one clarification.. if i hire a guide for ABC for 8 days, so the cost of 21K wd be inclusive of my permit, food and stay along with the guide right ?
Yep, that's correct. So, in the video I mention INR 21k including cost of everything Pokhara to Pokhara including the guide and porter for 7 days. As long as you pick options on the budget side of things you can easily get it done under 21k. All the best for your trip! 🙌
Are there lots of stairs on the way?
Yep, more than half the trek is stairs. 😅
Do you need TIMS card for the ABC trek ? and being an Indian, are passport and travel insurance mandatory for this trek as i got to see online in the TIMS form .
Yes, TIMS will be required for doing ABC. If you hire the guide in advance, they can take care of that for you.
For TIMS form itself, during my time only the passport details were needed. Not the travel insurance. I would still recommend that you confirm with the guide about that before hand.
Is it okay to trek in April?
yes
Thank you so much for this video. It is very helpful to plan things. I have a few questions... please help me with that..
1. Is early June a good month for this trek?
2. Is it now mandatory to have a guide while on this trek?
3. Are there any changes in the permit registration process now?
4. Tried to contact the guide whose number you have provided but, call didn't go through. Please help with the alternatives by which we connect with this guide or any other guide even before leaving from India for the trek.
Please do reply.
Glad you found this video helpful. 😊
1) Not really. It will be the rainy season in Nepal. And it will last until mid to end of September. I went in October and it rained for almost 3 days continuously.
2) Yes, it is mandatory for a registered guide to accompany you for ABC.
3) As far as I know, there aren't any changes to get a permit.
4) Feel free to contact Subeed Ji (+91 9886274292). Gyalje Sherpa works with him.
Hope this helps.
Hey, I have one doubt..initially you said guide is mandatory and in the last you said you dont need guide if you are experienced enough and can DIY. please clarify
Yes, you are right. Actually until earlier this year trekkers were allowed to do this trek themselves. However, after the latest guidelines from Nepal Tourism Board, it is mandatory to do the trek with a locally registered guide.
Which month of the year did you do this?
October 2022
Hi. The license guide requirement has been impossed or not?
Hey, it has been enforced. You will have to undertake the services of a locally registered guide and get your permits sorted before you start the trek. 😅
Which month of snowfall start???
Hey, that can really differ season to season. Though you expect snowfall in December.
However, if you are thinking of trekking during snow, that is something I wouldn't recommend unless you are a seasoned trekker and are well aware of the risks that come with it.
How about may months?
Difficult, less people go it starts raining. Views are cloudy
Most informed video on ABC track.
But gyalje sherpa jis no is not correct. After 977 there should be 10 digit no. Please provide the correct no.
Glad you liked the video. Try this number instead: 9841819020
Doing this trek on 1st of april with trek the Himalayas.. what will be the weather like.. and where can i rent trekking gear in pokhra
hello, not very privy to this info. For weather, you can rely on online websites for a best estimate.
Regarding the poles, you can check with TTH if they rent it out, otherwise once you reach Pokhra, ask your guide to arrange them
At 13:15 mark, did he say “if you can do 10km in 60 minutes”??
Haha, yes I did. But the trek will be a breeze then and you would thoroughly enjoy it.
If you may not have a certain baseline fitness you will still be able to complete. But you would get tired a lot and it may take away from the experience, You can check my vlog on Annapurna to understand what I mean. 😅
Hello !! Tried that given number but it’s not working , I think you missed one digit
Hey, the number is alright, but he can be off-grid sometimes while leading the trek. Try Subeed Ji (+91 9886274292), Gyalje Sherpa works with him.
Can you please share more information regarding permits, if it's possible to get it in Pokhara or Katmandu, duration to get it. Thank you would be really helpful
Hey, just keep a day or two as buffer before the trip and that should be enough to sort your permits. And yes you can get them done both in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Also, do look up the National Tourism Board's website for up-to-date details.
@@XploreTheEarth Thank you!
How to get a tour guide ?
number provided in description of the video
We 4 ladies planning to start fm 18th october... wl take a porter fm Pokhra..
Pls suggest a best way to reach without hindrance
Hey, it totally depends on your budget really. And if budget isn't a constraint then as mentioned in the video taking a flight to Kathmandu and then another to Pokhara really is your best bet. Hope this helps. 🙂
