  • Many people ask me how to start riding.
They think I need to hold on to a pole or something else to get both feet on the wheel.
This video shows how simple it is to start a ride once you mastered the balance.
Some clips are old, others have been recorded for this video.

I am definitely doing something wrong. I watch this and I see it and I seem to understand but yet every time I try it I fail! Arrggg!!!
Although I have had my Solowheel for about three days now I have really only had about 15 minutes a day worth of practice. Hopefully I will learn to “start off” this week end when I have more time to practice.
Looks like you should try to get a little bit of forward momentum with one foot on the machine then simply step-up with the left foot. Well this is easier said than done folks.. Every time I go to step up with my left foot the machine falls on its right side as my weigh is on my right foot.
I know I know its feel so hopeless right now but I'll learn this if it is the last thing I ever do.. lol

My Solowheel extrem doesn't start up in the right position. So I cannot rid it anymore. Does anybody know if it's possible to make a system restart?

Thank you, very interesting tutorial. It really seems very easy and natural, isn't it?

Part of the time the handle is out of frame, and there are no full-body shots to see how to stand or how to position your arms.
It's useful, don't get me wrong, but not enough by itself, at least for me, sorry.

This is a Solowheel from 2012. While the manufacturer claimed a range of 16km, I get 10 - 12km range.

Sorry, not so simple, feet must be placed in exact location, as you can not adjust once both feet are on, secondly, you can not see or feel the pressure that the top of device against the one leg on unit needed while mounting! It goes from full weight of body to zero once fully balanced, and you must retain 90° to ground the full time, anything else then 90° and you will fail to mount...

    • @SolarizeYourLife
      @SolarizeYourLife Před 9 lety

You will have full weight against inner leg when ever you do a one leg maneuver, starting, stopping, or the fancy one leg riding mode.... So you must never have a gap between leg and unit, especially a nubie, or leg injury can and will happen....

SolarizeYourLife Man I am learning exactly what you are talking about. When you step-up with your left-foot (in my case) if it is not positioned just right it is HELL to adjust so that you can have both feet equally positioned on the foot-pegs.. This has proven to be a LOT harder than it looks. I have only had about 45 mins on mine and I already feel a sense of hopelessness :( but Im NOT going to give up no matter what!

That being said once your going, it's OK to relax and have a gap between leg and machine, but if you get the sore foot/sole try doing one foot stands, you don't have to completely take the other foot off, just try to take pressure off for a while, then change feet...

SolarizeYourLife Well I'll have to take your word for it because I am not to the point yet where I can "get going" in order to relax and have a gap between leg and machine .. This is why I am watching vids like this .. I am trying to learn how to get started.. As of now I am a complete disaster on a Solowheel! I cant get started-off!
Hey do you recommend using training wheels in the beginning or do you think this just delays what you really have to learn?
