    From the Solasta Saxophone Quartet:
Our programme today is made up of three contrasting movements from different pieces written for saxophone quartet. Together, these create a suite of fast-slow-fast pieces. We started with the first movement of Claude Pascal's Saxophone Quartet, followed by the second movement from Faustin and Maurice Jeanjean's Saxophone Quartet, called Doux Paysage, meaning sweet or gentle landscape. Concluding our programme, we performed the third movement from Mike Hall's Tales of the Sun God, called Cassandra's Kiss. Mike Hall's quartet is loosely based on the sun god, Apollo, and this third movement deals with the interactions between Apollo and Cassandra, one of the Trojan king and queen's most beautiful daughters.
