One thing I think gets glossed over is how Clervie is implied to have taken her own life rather than fight Peruere. Like, remember the shock on Peruere's face, followed by Clervie smiling and saying how she'll be a great "king", before saying "i'm sorry...thank you". Not only that, but also in that shot where we see the sword through her, we can't see Clervie's arms at all. She falls back and Peruere doesn't move at all, yet her sword is still in her right hand, not stained by blood.

remember how clervies mom crucabena has the ability to throw a ice sword? Shown in the fight vs peruer. Clervie prob took the hit and was backstabed by her mom and killed. I dont think peruer did anything to clervie. her arms were by her side the whole time. check the reflection from the broken glass on the ground. check peruers body language the entire time, if arle had killed her wouldnt she have to pull the sword from the body? Peruer never moved a muscle. I think Clervie took the hit from behind while they were fighting. There was no blood on peruers sword....Theres a reason peruer was angry and wanted revenge. Who killed bull fruit girl though???

CN lines confirm that. English just doesn't have a good way to call someone a birth mother without it sounding off, at least in terms of the sentence they used. "Do mothers usually argue with their daughters?" Kinda of hard to add in an extra detail that she means her biological mother, but I'm not a translator so maybe I'm just talking out of my butt.

Here's some food for thought:
There's a book in Fountaine called "Perinheri" which has a lot of Khaenri'ah lore in it and explains the Hilichurl curse in more detail.
It's stated there that before the last Royal Dynasty of Khaenri'ah, the Eclypse (who were into mechanisms and technology), the Kingdom was ruled by the Crimson Moon Dynasty (focused on Alchemy and Khemia).
During the rule of Crimson Moon, Khaenri'ahns built an Orphanage with the goal of finding Descenders. The Orphanage also housed any other orphans in the Kingdom.
A ritual is described in this book, where a child of the Orphanage has to traverse the *Fire* of *Two Worlds* within the *Hearth* to be reborn.
An Orphanage and a Hearth, huh?

Arlecchino's title is Dire Balemoon, a red Moon is shown in her ult, and her weapon is "Crimson Moon's semblance"
Perhaps she's the heir of the Crimson Moon Dynasty then?
Also, her eyes, if you look at the Khaenriahn star theres an x like design in the centre of the star it could be the symbol of the crimson dynasty, while the diamond shaped part is Eclipse dynasty look at Kaeya's eyes.
Maybe like Kaeya, she was left alone in fontaine and was found by the House of the Hearth.

Eclipse dynasty now led by the harbingers have full control of both khaenriah and snezhnaya. Its not really power level increase since arle is shown to be stronger in the fight against her mother, just that she is not composed and losing in element battle
The sad thing about it was I think Clervie's mother was "Mother"
Which meant her own mother put her up for a fight against her "brothers and sisters"
Plus with the flower symbolism of her mother stating how she should have 'pruned' her daughter long before the battle aka as like a kid.

a lot of people saying "why would she pick lyney he's just a magician" literally every quest we've had with him we're investigating stuff and he does the magic show as a public appearance/just something he likes/is good at. there is plenty of information (e.g his vision story i think) which shows he's pretty capable, he might not be emotionally tough enough yet but thats okay i think thats the point/makes it more interesting.
also his story quest is not boring 🔥🔥 its cool and has gorgeous animations

Since Descenders were brought up by chat and dish still hasn't done the Narzissenkreuz storyline, I just want to clear up something about the Descenders.
Someone who comes to Teyvat from another world isn't immediately classified as a Descender. To be considered a Descender, you must have the will to rival, conquer, destroy, control or rebuild the world.
This is why The Traveler is considered a Descender but their sibling isn't. Coming from another world is just one part of it. You must have the will to affect the entirety of Teyvat.
Also, Arlecchino most definitely isn't a Descender. There are only four.
1st is the Heavenly Principles (Primordial One).
2nd is presumably The Second Who Came.
3rd is an unknown person whose body was used to craft the Gnoses.
The 4th and most recent one is the Traveler.
That's kind of interesting, because the Traveler isn't really shown to any sort of motive to change anything. They just wanna find their sibling and peace out. The sibling is the one who wants to change things.
I think there is a good theory that change how you enumerated the Descenders.
1st is Primordial One
2nd is his shades
3rd whose body was used to craft the Gnosis is also The Second Who Came who is presumably Nibelung the Vishap King (He left Teyvat after defeat and returned with Abyss/Quantum powers on the path of Destruction)
The 4th is the Traveler.
Why do i feel the 3rd one is the dragon king. He could probably use all the elements so all the gnosis from him makes sense?
@@user-nl5rg5sv7d The power to change the world is more directly tied to their fate, and how their strong fate can change the fate of the world. It isnt rlly abt if he intends to change Teyvat or not, but that he has the power to change it. Fate is a very core theme of the lore
a lot of people seem to forget that its only a classification that the fatui use, to explain these people and their information might be incomplete, or out dated.

15:09 I would argue/theorize that the "bad guy in Genshin" isn't ever going to be any major player/playable character we're going to meet throughout the Traveler's journey through the seven regions, but rather it's going to end up being the gods themselves. Not the archons, but instead Celestia and The Heavenly Principles. The narrative has thus far really only had one constant force that has been antagonizing the archons, the dragon sovereigns, the people of Teyvat (omnipotently overseeing the mortal world and administering punishment by smiting entire civilizations with sky nails, cursing Khaenri'ahns, etc), and even the Traveler by taking their sibling in the intro. Dainsleif and the Tsaritsa's coincidentally?-shared endgoal seems to be to dethrone the divine and free humanity from Celestia's control, so there's a realistic chance the Traveler's journey is going to lead them down this path in the endgame. And maybe defeating Celestia might be necessary to fully rescue the Abyss sibling (see: the Travail trailer). Maybe the "fake sky" is actually a prison of Celestia's doing that Teyvat's been kept in and it'll be up to the Traveler to free the world in the end.
As for placing-my-bets speculation: The final boss will be Paimon, except she's not aware of it. My shot call is that they're going to pull off the same plot twist that Kirby and the Forgotten Land did with Kirby's innocent and friendly companion Elfilin (Kirby spoilers ahead:) who ended up being the benevolent one-half of a greater evil deity and in the end merges with their missing half, becoming the final boss.
Mihoyo games have a running theme of going against the "gods". Honkai Impact 3 and GGZ have the honkai and herrshers as villains who are also against human civilization progressing and label humans as "arrogant", similar to how Khaenri'ah was destroyed by celestia for "being arrogant" and progressing as an advanced civilization. I can't really say much about star rail since it is still relatively new.
@@lychee3002 In HSR the "Going against gods" thing keeps going because it has been confirmed in-game that Trailblazer will have to go against Nanook at the end of the plot (an Aeon, the gods of HSR), I don't remember the specifics because I haven't played the Quest where it was said this
Well Hoyo kinda shut this theory down. They told us outright that Paimon is nothing malicious or evil, that she never will be. Many players were worried she’d be a boss or an enemy but hoyo shit that down. I’d say just search it up, since I cannot recall where they said it, although I’m sure it was an interview.
It's also crazy that her name Peruere, is a latin word for either "To Perish/To Burn Up" or "To Succed" depending the capitalization of the letter "P" from her name. It's a bit confusing that one name has two different meanings which is hard pinpoint its exact meaning and I would like to think that the "To Perish "might be the actual meaning behind her name in my opinion because it make sense to me that ties in with her constellation which also means the cleansing fire.
I think it’s most likely both, genshin tends to do that. She is the successor and both “succeeded” in the fight against Mother as well as “succeeded her position”. Still, she is a pyro vision holder afflicted with a curse that harms her which causes her to burn up
I feel like her name being Latin and not French is perhaps a connection with Remuria.

@@Mr_Hoppykwins Not wrong so much, as imperfect. Latin has a terrible number of declensions for any given word. As spelled it is very close but does not perfectly match a number of hypothetical feminine future active participles for the Latin "Pereo." The catch is that there are no actual historical examples of Pereo in these forms. The best we can do is to guess how a native Latin speaker would have approached using this word in this context.
The confusion between "to perish" vs "to succeed" is that the root word means essentially "to go through." or "move forward" So depending on context it could mean either.
Cyno doesn't look exactly like Deshret, he bares some design similarities to Deshret's high priest, Kasala. Alhaitham has Deshret's eyes and it's likely that both he and Kaveh are meant to represent different parts of Deshret. Alhaitham being his towering intellect, and Kaveh being his humanistic nature.
?? The only images that we can consider semi Canon for Deshret's design was the one in the approved Hoyofair submission and He had the long white-ish grey hair there similar to Cyno
There's also in game text stating that Hermanubis could be an alias for Deshret; and its confirmed that the spirit inside Cyno is Hermanubis
So if there's any Deshret parallel here it would be Cyno not Al Haitham (since most of his parallels are only visual anyway, plus why would the king of the desert not be from the desert??)

The description for Dialogues of the Desert Sages says:

I can't find anything that says Hermanubis is theorised to be an alias for Deshret. Some people in the Akademiya speculated that Cyno was a descendant of Deshret and raised by priests of Hermanubis, but that was not true.

Honestly, full transparency, I was just never a fan of Al Haitham is Deshret theories because seriously? a scribe from the Akademiya who lives in the rain forest region, not a drop of blood from anyone from the desert is the reincarnation of the god of the desert region? especially when people from the desert has already been heavily stigmatized ?? its distateful for me tbh
but yeah, I admit I'm biased to believe that Cyno has a bigger connection to Deshret than Al Haitham

Most people who use delusions just treat the side effects as a price to pay for the power, but also the delusions given to the soldiers in inazuma were especially bad because they weren't really made with the same quality a delusion is usually made with.
As for the rest, they're either vision users, which I imagine gives them some sort of resistance or immunity depending on how strong they are, or they're not human/archon level power kind of people, at which point the side effects are probably entirely negligible.
I think the traveler would be able to use a delusion, though I can't imagine why they would considering they have access to elemental power already.
Also ,Cyno doesn't look like king deshert, we haven't had a look at how Deshert looked, Cyno looks like a priest of king deshert.

I don't think there is one. It's all fat gray zone, everyone have their skeletons in a drawer. Celestia has the most of them so far, especially after completing fontaine quest. So far, Harbingers seem-while cruel-working for the 'Greater Good' goal. And if the Teyvat is the Simulation, then it all makes sense. What the point of caring for collateral damage if its all not truly real?
And I think that she is not 'human'. At least not anymore. There was a moment in Fontaine when she self-ironically sarcastically stated about her 'mortal eyes' as in not mortal eyes. And.. well, the curse all too similiar to that one that hit the Khaenriah half-blооd children
As for 'Forbidden Knowledge', I think its that all people in Teyvat are dead and simulated to live by Irmensoul. So, when one learns that they aren't even real and alive.. Thats just a personal imho

What people need to realise about Dottore is, to an extent, he has an altruistic goal that he is fiending for (opening the path to Godhood for the human race and levelling the playing field) but he does not care what he has to do to get there.

Arlecchino was saying "no" to both. "Mother" asked her if she agreed with her assessment about the wilted flowers, but Arlecchino never answered her. Then "Mother" told her to let "Mother" guide her to become the new "King." Arlecchino disagreed with both sentiments as she disagreed with how "Mother" ran the House of The Hearth and the fact that they were forced to kill each other. This was established when she asked her friend, "Do Mothers always get into arguments with their Daughters?" The fact that she took the moniker of "Father" instead of "Mother" tells me that Arlecchino wanted to distance herself as far from "Mother" as possible.
I also suspect that everyone is wrong about who Arlecchino has singled out as her successor. Everyone is saying either Lyney or Freminet. I think it's Lynette and I'll tell you why. Hoyoverse let one very important fact slip (maybe intentionally) with the trailer and a lot of people caught it, but not the significance. Lynette is the only one of the Trio who has seen "Cursed Arlecchino." This was, presumably, when Arlecchino saved Lynette from slavery. Now compare Lynette to young Arlecchino. I think Arlecchino sees herself in Lynette, minus all the mental and emotional damage that "Mother" inflicted upon her. I think Lyney and Freminet are the bait for the bait and switch. Lyney is the "leader" of the trio so, naturally, one could see him being groomed to take over the House of The Hearth. Freminet, in the trailer, is clearly shown as the one "at odds" with Arlecchino and the one physically fighting her. With the Animated Short now out, Hoyoverse has, intentionally, drawn that very strong parallel between Freminet and Arlecchino. So strong, that I smell a Red Herring. Because, again, Lynette isn't focused on at all. And Lyney's line that draws attention to her is said casually and nonchalantly, "Freminet and I have never see this side of 'Father.' " It's almost like Hoyoverse wanted it to be there, but not to draw too much attention to it. Why? Because they wanted to hide the truth in plain sight. I think what we're ACTUALLY seeing is Lyney, Freminet, The Traveler, and Paimon confronting Arlecchino to protect Lynette because they don't want her to go down Arlecchino's path. In the trailer, Arlecchino says, "I want you to become the next 'King' of the House, but you seem to have other ideas." Everyone believes that she is saying that to Freminet because it shows her clashing with Freminet. But look closer at that scene. It's not Freminet she's saying that to. It's Lynette. The scene is Freminet jumping in front of Lynette and blocking the attack from Arlecchino. Freminet is DEFENDING Lynette. Why? If Freminet was Arlecchino's target, shouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't it be Lynette jumping in front of Freminet? Add in the fact that the Animated Short established that the "King" of the House of The Hearth is a woman ("Mother" wanted Arlecchino to be the next "King" and only the "Daughters" were to take part in the competition) and Arlecchino MUST be referring to Lynette when she is talking about the new "King."
I also believe that Arlecchino's History that has been revealed in this Animated Short is going to be the key to getting her to stop and relent and, ultimately, join us. I think either we're going to force her to realize or she will, herself, realize that she has become that which she fought so hard not to be: "Mother." And I think that's why they released this Animated Short. Because we, the players, need to understand who Arlecchino really is and all the crap she went through in order for the Story Quest to make sense. And there just isn't enough time to do all of that in a Story Quest. That's more Archon Quest territory... which they really should have done. Though... that still leaves one question: Who is Arlecchino looking for that Freminet found and kept hidden? Is it Lynette? The cruel irony here is that, by taking the moniker of "Father," doesn't that make Arlecchino the new "King" of The House of The Hearth like "Mother" wanted?
As far as the Descenders are concerned, we actually do know quite a bit, but there's still a lot more to learn. "The Primordial One" was the First Descender. "The Second Who Came," aka the one who got into a fight with "The Primordial One" over the "Authority of The Dragon Sovereigns" which "The Primordial One" had already usurped by that point. Now thanks to Fontaine Archon Quest, we now know that the Third Descender arrived some time during that fight and had a hand in ending it since the fight ended with the creation and distribution of the Gnoses. And, of course, we have us, The Traveler, who is, supposedly, The Fourth Descender. I say "supposedly" because our sibling exists and Alice exists. There's no way Alice isn't a Descender. And now with Skirk talking about "power from another world" and the reveal of the Narwhal which is, literally, a beast form another world, I'm 100% convinced there are, and has been, more than Four Descenders in Teyvat's past, but Irminsul only knows about and/or categorizes those four as Descenders. The Narwhal is, clearly, a Descender and has been in Teyvat's Primordial Sea since the time of Egeria (the Hydro Archon before Focalors). And both Skirk and Surtalogi (Skirk's Master) appear to be Descenders as well. Then you add in the fact that Nahida discovered that someone hacked Irminsul to insert "memories" of our sibling to tie them to Teyvat while encrypting the truth of who our sibling is within Irminsul and I don't trust it when they say that we are the Fourth Descender. To that, I say BS.
Anyhow, I'll leave it there for now. Great content as always!
I've said it a hundred times before and I still stand by the theory that there is only one true evil in Genshin and it is Celestia or rather the being controlling Celestia - The traveller and our friends, the Tsaritsa and the Fatui, and even our sibling and the Abyss Order are all going about things with different methods but are all ultimately going to have some sort of team-up against Celestia and you need not look any further than the current supposed bad guy, Pierro, who was a mage for the court of khaenri'ah so of-course he wants revenge against the heavenly principles.
Arlecchino has never shown herself to be a villian even though she often gives off villian vibes so her "becoming good" or joining us is as much in-line as Childe or Scara. Right now there seems to be only one modestly unredeemable harbinger that we've seen and that would be Dottore simply from the awful things he has done in his experimentation in the past. I believe that when we meet and/or fight capitano in Natlan is when we will start to unravel the true goals of the Fatui and we'll see a sliver of common ground.

Whenever I watch Hoyoverse animated videos, the art style and composition feels like a donghua instead of your traditional Japanese anime. The composition and art style feels so unique to Hoyoverse. It's the Hoyoverse effect but for animation.
I learned so much from Dish's video and chat in the trailer. Now the understanding of her and the quest is broaden a lot

11:00 So, Arlecchino was born with power over a special type of flame the inhabited her body, but due to it's rampant nature, she had no control over it and it would regularly burn away at her body, which is why it was instead likened to a curse, over time the black markings would creep up her arms, with some mention of her feeling that there would be some irreversable transformation to her once it reaches her heart. Now, as to her Vision, Arlecchino got her Vision directly after killing Clervie, as she suddenly felt the unassailable desire to kill "Mother", the first strong desire she had in her life, as before that she was content to just coast along, que a year-long offscreen training montage in secret, then she goes about her premediated murder.
The glitch probably implies, that she somehow defied fate because pierro said "those who fight fate, has the right to challenge it" or something
So it seems to me that defying fate made her a descender, because even if you are from teyvat, if you have a will to rival an entire world, you can essentially detach yourself from teyvat's fate system
I have some theories
1: She might be a descender or anomaly in Teyvat, like a glitch in the system, bc Scara shouldn’t be in the trailer since he erased himself from history. This would also explain the glitches.
2: If you’ve seen the Wreck it Ralph movie, Venellope was a glitch in the system bc the king removed everyone’s memories of her being the original queen. 4: She might be Khaenrian bc all of the Harbingers shown in the video were around 500+ years old (the captains age isn’t confirmed but i just inferred that he was old bc he’s the captain of the group.) Also when you’ve played the Caterpillar quest the khaenrian theory will make more sense.
I want to make a quick comment on 1 real quick. Scara erased the memory of himself from history, so nobody remembers him but everything he did still happened. So he still would have been there, which is why I think they included him because we are seeing what cannonly happened.
The events from this Animation only happend around 10 or maximum 15 years ago from the current Timeline so we can assume that Peruere, the current Arlecchino, is in her mid or late 20s, maybe even really early 30s
This also explains why we see Scaramouche since he was at that Time still active

Capitano is just his title, he's not literally the captain of the group, nor does that implies he's the oldest.
The Doctor is already a harbinger at that point too and he's not there, these we're most likely just the harbingers that were present at the palace at that time.
5. Arlecchino became the Knave AFTER freminet joined the House of the hearth, so she hasnt been a harbinger for more than a few years.

That wasn’t the house of the hearth at the end btw it was a gazebo type building that you can find the ruins of in game. Also she had those crimson fire powers before ever getting a vision (or delusion) I theorize that the more she lets herself become consumed by the curse the more powerful she becomes or perhaps it’s based on her emotional states as you can see when she was with clervie at times her curse went away on her hands

"Father” is a contrast to her “mother” who was caring and sweet on the outside but psychotic in reality. arle is strict and unfeeling but in reality seems to love and care for her children in her own way.

Im guessing that arlecchino's curse is tied to emotions and the tatoo's she has on her arms helps her channel the curse into usable energy = black/red fire stuff.
I also think that arlecchino at this time in her life doesn't have the pyro vision and probably gets it soon after the end. For being an actually decent person and taking care of orphans.... yes she still trains them as soldiers and operatives, but she doesn't pit them against each other to kill them.

That’s why diluc’s father died because when he was using the delusion, he didn’t feel hatred…. So that’s what caused it to backfire and kill him

On the subject of delusions- Childe has a delusion: that's what his Foul Legacy ties into. The Legacy is Abyssal, but his Electro is delusion-based. Signora also had a delusion for her Cryo abilities. Crepus had a early delusion to make up for him never receiving a Vision.
In regards to the conversation about who is the bad guy in Genshin... I think the entire point is that it all depends on your perspective and your experiences that inform that perspective. There's a lot of gray, which I like in my stories.

Unfinished comedy isnt the only quest you need you also need to finish the narcizencreus ordo questline and its follow ups wich need you to all the melusine book stuff aswell(wich both are super lore heavy chains)
ALSO. if you look at where the battle scene is, it is in fontaine in the Mont Esus area. if you look at the panned out frame where the building explodes, you can see the waterfall there, and you can go to the ruins on the other side of the waterfall and that is where the fight scene took place.
I honestly find it really cool that the place was there and we just thought it was normal ruins when it's in fact an incredibly important place for Arlecchino's lore.

It seems that Arle has a curse which uses up the essence of the dead. Due to her constellation name, it isn't farfetched. The way the darkness progressed on her hand during the spider's burial and her arms changing from before she looked at the flowers to her ultra instinct mode. She may have harnessed the death of her "siblings" and made her have the power. I dont think its pyro nor a delusion since she had the ability before becoming a harbinger. How did she get inflicted with it tho?

I think we can see in 4.6 trailer that Arlecchino has a pyro vision AND a pyro delusion unlike other fatuis that we know. Tartaglia has hydro/electro, Signora has (had) cryo/pyro, soooo Arlecchino is just like double it and give it to the next person.

I doubt Arlecchino has any sort of vision or delusion during her fight with Crucabena. If I am not mistaken, delusions are only given to official Fatuis or the Harbingers themselves I think her power comes from her curse.

Something I saw on Twitter (I think from one of the lore ccs but I can't remember the name) is that Arlecchino's original name, Peruere, partly means error. So either she's not supposed to exist at all or she shouldn't be in Teyvat. It's also possible that similarly to the Sustainer (because of the arm), Arlecchino is also corrupted with forbidden knowledge or data. I wonder how much role this will have in her story because I find it incredibly interesting that the uere in Peruere means error.... It's never a design choice. Character designs and names always have a big role in Genshin.

doubt anyone will see this, but i remember seeing this theory going around saying that it was a bit weird that Arlecchino was able to see Scaramouche (bc spoilers he deleted himself) so people are really wondering who she is
None of the events related to Scaramouche have actually changed; Arlecchino and the others at the ceremony wouldn't remember his presence(or existence) because of the Irmimsul editing, but Irminsul can only edit memories and records and not reality itself(If it could, we wouldn't have Wanderer because he wouldn't exist at all). What we're seeing here is the true version of events in which The Balladeer is present, because Hoyoverse has no reason to hide that from us as the audience.
A Vision protects them from the major effects of a Delusion but Arlecchino her power work different her Vision and her Delusion allow her to bring out her cursed power without killing her body.

It's possible that she could die, but the way I see playable characters is that the characters that are playable are ones that Aether/Lumine befriend along their journey. Even thought Lyney and Lynette did lie about being associated with the Fatui, they did help the traveler in their quest. Same with Arlecchino during the Archon Quest. So I feel like that would be the criteria for a character to be playable even if they die in story; if they have a Vision/elemental powers and befriend/help traveler during their journey.

I think most people forget, but if you've noticed. Most r has eyes that reflect the type of vision they have to some extent, just some more than others. So that probably IS Freminet, just before he got his vision. EDIT: If not their eye color, it will effect them or something that's like a part of them in some way.

@@eiri1332 Ah I phrased it poorly. I forgot to mention that besides Eye Color, A Vision will effect some sort of body part or something closely related to them to be close/closer to their element. Navia has Blonde hair, which is a similar color to certain sandstone, Chevreuse Has purple hair and eyes with red-ish tints in her lower eye, so she counts. Kaveh has his sentient suitcase who has green eyes and all that, Fischl has Oz who's black and purple. Her eyes are red-ish but closer to pink, which is very close to a very light shade of purple. etc.
Granted it's Not EVERY character, but it's definitely the vast majority. A Vision will effect them in some way.

Visions can't change your biological features. We've seen the kid forms of many characters before they received their Visions, and they look the same
A good character design has accent colors. Visions tend to be a prominent focus of a Genshin character, so they usually have splashes of that color on their design to balance it out. There's no lore reason for this, it's just how character design works
Either way, that kid is still not Freminet because his character stories contradict it
