Yeah mon! That's what this is, a "Mon" aka "Mondokoro” or “Kamon". It's a Japanese family crest. I thought one with three cranes looked particularly sick so I decided to have a go at drawing it.
Paper size: 21x21cm
Radius of first circle: 5cm
More about Mons → en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon_(em...) - Zábava
This crest has been part of Japanese History as a crest during the Shogunate Era of Japan. Before Emperor Meiji took the throne and the beginning of the Meiji Restoration.
紋の文化は、日本のかなり古い歴史とともにありました。一般人が紋を持ったのは明治時代あたりから。そして現在の日本でも、各家庭が紋を持っています😊
Which family used this mon?
Great Inspiration, just had to do it myself. Thank you so mich❤️
I loved geometry in school. But my art teacher always emphasized on free hand drawings. Therefore I never learnt this amazing technique. Thank you so much for this video.
私は日本人ですが、まさか、日本の伝統的な紋章の描き方を、外国の方から学ぶとは思っていませんでした。(しかもコンパスを使って!)
本当に素晴らしいです👍
Thanks for watching!
🇹🇭
such beautiful work. i knew there was a wonderful balance to the mōn emblems, but didn’t realize they had so much geometry in them.
Awesome! Good job! I draw mandalas too, and sometimes "extract" a specific design - always fun when that appears, when you discover it. I would sometimes call the base geometry lines "God's fancy graph paper." I have not drawn for many years. I have not been inspired. Low grade depression permeates. But, having discovered your channel and watching what you do, I have bought some new pens and paper, and who knows - maybe soon, a mandala will "happen". Thank you. Greetings from Quebec, Canada!
Can’t wait to see your work Anna! Bring the Mandala Queen out of her resting 😊
oh please draw! it sounds like you have such wonderful intention behind it and i love that you call the geometry lines "Gods fancy graph paper" ! and for sure @geometryptamine is such an amazing inspiration if I hadnt started watching him and a couple others a few years ago i would 100% not have the career that i have today. any time im down and unmotivated to draw i watch this channel and start doing one of his tutorials then the next thing i know im drawing something completely different. Im so grateful for the channel and i would be so happy to see it motivate you back into drawing as well !
Ànims mestre! Que bé que hagis retrobat el plaer de fer coses que t'agraden, molta força i salut des de Barcelona!
this was beautiful. not just the art piece(which is mind blowing!), but the words as well. made me think of the world differently now. thank you, and great work!
Thankyou😊✨
From Japan🇯🇵
it is highly impressive how you drew those cranes without making silly mistakes! very comforting to look at 😊
Well done. Wow. Very interesting about Indian and Japanese drawings. I later discovered, fractals in nature. Right in my own garden! Cheers from Toronto Canada..you have great talent.
Yes, so interesting, those fractals. I see the Creator's genius in these things. 🤩
May the grace of Jesus be with you.
I first started researching sacred geometry after a near death,it became clear that these patterns are from source .
Excellent freehand btw,I love the carvings of these patterns.
Whats also really cool about this drawing is that it has a Triquetra knot in the middle from the Celtics and kind of connects it to the symbolism of the Crane.
The finished drawing is the harmonisation of all the geometric shapes, coming together .
Thank you.
It looks so beautiful 🫶🏽 & I love the thoughts about energy, it’s not always obvious but it’s all around us ✨✨✨
Pictured the structure of the universe while you were drawing this. Crazy how it looks random but its so vast it actually could be symmetrical. Don’t know much about it but it blows my mind to think like that
one of my favorite pieces of yours, absolutely beautiful !!
Intriguing narrative. Thank you for sharing.
the first time a video from your channel appeared in my feed. saw those cranes and I HAD to click on it. to be able to decern a shape from all those circles and lines is total AMAZEBALLS.
subscribe!
What a wonderful channel! It’s relaxing to watch and listen to you! It’s beautiful!
Woah!😍Amazing! So Beautiful and so much energy. I Love Sacred geometry. Thank you for sharing🙏🏽❤️

Good video and nice monologue, thanks for your proximity and reflexions!
It's amazing, and I think they deserve a lot more than that
Old but gold school!!!:)(:..
Beautiful man! ...and I love your reflections/pondering's on geometry and the nature of reality :) 🙏✨
I LOVE IT! 🙏✨
Too cool, beautiful !
Great information, thank you for this inspiring message. You are a patient artist❤
So glad this came up as a suggestion to watch!

It can't get anymore simple than this. Thank you soo much howtobasic!
Impressive! Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm so pleased I found your channel🖖🏽✌🏽🙏🏽.
Awesome sauce!!
As a child I would often make these designs with or without a compass.... and then color them for hours.
really gorgeous video, so well edited, narrated, and the drawing is superb :)
Spectacular
Fantastic! Love it. It's relaxing se you drawing sacred geometry. I think there is much visdom in it ☀️
my guyyyy this was so awakening to watch
very cool stuff!
Dude, the outcome is absolutely stunning. I would put that on a shirt.
Good shit. An artist will take their work to that next level when they understand and start learning how geometry works in everything, and another plus to that is when you do understand the geometry of a piece you’re trying to create, it gets a million times easier to put down on paper with precision detail and create.
Great work , deep thought
Nice video, and you are really good! Geometry is one of our way to read reality and to try an interpretation of what we see, it’s not reality, it’s just a mathematical interpretation of it, it remains very fascinating.
Glad to found someone who like sacred geometry because of energy while most think am mad. Awesome. Keep it up.
They think I'm mad too
...I prefer eccentric
Wow!
You just illustrated and put words to what my mind has been wrestling with for 60 years...
And even more, my favorite artist is: Walter Crane
Great stuff!
Amazing
Sheeeeesh! Beautiful
The moment I saw you drawing geometry I knew you would mention sacred geometry :). Nice piece of art u made there :)
Stunning! I would love to try it, but for you to come up with this shows a deep understanding, well done!
I’ve been playing around with ideas like this around 60 years, after a lot of stumbling through various spiritual ideas I don’t really place huge importance on geometry as an overarching philosophy but am still as fascinated with it as ever. More interested these days in the mathematics than just the geometry, it’s is there in all the generation and degeneration cycles which is something that interests me more, the whole process of change.
I have seen quite a lot of these family crests, not just Japanese but Chinese too. Hadn’t realised just how much geometry was used in construction though I did know about mandalas thankas statuary etc. I am not at all interested in the new agey ideas, but like some of what you say about earth as a source of energy, which it undoubtedly is. But why? Well, life of course, so that’s why the cycles of change are so fascinating. We have been disrupting them badly… Thanks for your nice video, seemed very timely it turned up right now as I am revisiting some old ideas I was playing with about cyclical stuff. Don’t get too beguiled by the beauty though, just use it to allow your mind to think freely….
Que belleza y maestría! Le felicito y gracias por publicar ! 😊
Beautiful 👍❤
Thanks!
Legend! Thanks Jack!
great work!
it also reminds me of the works of Escher
AMAZING😍😍😍
I like yours the best, the ones on pinterest have comical eye shapes. well done!
Amazing!!!!!!!
Beautiful 😍 ❤
That is beautiful and overwhelming! I think I will stick with my original plan and do your tutorials first.
Great! (I just had to say something, really a wonderful video on all accounts)
.👍.. I really like your content... And today your true words as well 😀.. Btw, your cranes reminded me of Escher's drawings... Best regards from Crete... 🤗💞💪
I love geometrical art, it's science, art, love... It touches every aspect of humanity in regards to our ability to just express reality as we perceive it, in a very powerful , beautiful way 😊
God bless you all!
Nice
Great job :)))
That's literally how I work in adobe illustrator
This is my perspective when talking about designs and natural patterns - no one looks at a Ferrari and says "Wow, that's incredibly lucky, that all the right parts came together by accident." It would be an insult to the designers and all the people who put it together.
Then we find incredible designs, patters and symmetry in nature and we say "Wow, it was really lucky that a cosmic mistake made all of this!"
Symmetry points to design, design points to a Designer. This makes me think that it's silly to think of something as complex as the earth and all of the life on it coming about by a cosmic mistake.
Physics, Chemistry and biology are great teachers, just observing them in action is amazing. You do not have to rely on the idea of a single designer. And you do not have to alternatively put things down to a cosmic mistake. Space has a kind of order, nature does too because it exists in space and is subject to the same kind of order. There is also randomness and lack of order too. Not challenging what you believe at all, but opening things up to a variety of interpretations. Crystals grow without being alive for instance, just subjects to natural forces. It is all marvellous and worth observing.
Too dope and deep 😮💨🙏🏿
Amazing work and thanks, learn the techniques is lovely. 🙅♀️🤔
Beautiful!, …
Wow
Cool
Wooow super 👍💎💎💎 merci beaucoup 👍👍👍
This is an amazing art video, and kamon have always fascinated me. It's very interesting to see the this classic design come to life. My MARS degree is in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, and I would offer a word of caution about broad interpretations of mandala and/or any connections with the somewhat nebulous pop-culture concept of "energy." Mandala in Buddhism serve a specific purpose which differs mandala to mandala; the interpretation of meaning or symbolism therein is not necessarily achievable by lay people - there is often a "key", especially in Vajrayana contexts, that a student must receive from a teacher in order to interpret the meaning of the mandala and the way in which is depicts the universe. While sacred, geometry is not syncretistic; there is no common underlying meaning.
Not that I like turning towards the negative, and although we know there is a balance to the universe, this has made me wonder, is it possible to cause imbalance or harm by drawing mandalas? As "lay" people without a teacher and a key with which to interpret them, is it detrimental?
this art is perfectly fit to apply to Autocad combine with Adobe Illustrator. thx for share. God bless u.
Impossible comme travail c' est le top
Getting escher vibes I love this one so much
... That's what I commented too... 😄
