      Ole hyvä! I think LAB University of Applied Sciences has affordable tuition fees and it's still possible to get a scholarship for studies.

    Good day John, Please I need clarification, I want to study nursing, but the program in Lab University of Applied Science Is Public Health Nurse. Please is Public health nurse and Bachelor in Nursing the same thing?
    Can I work as a nurse after studying Public health nurse?

    • @JohnofFinland291
      @JohnofFinland291  Před 2 dny

      Hi, they aren’t exactly the same training. However, the public health nurse program also includes the studies of a registered nurse. The public health nurse degree is slightly broader and offers you more job opportunities, and it’s somewhat a higher degree in a way. With a registered nurse degree, you can’t work in public health nurse positions.
      Personally, I would primarily apply for the public health nurse program at LAB if I wanted to work as a registered nurse as well. For example, at Metropolia in Helsinki, the tuition fees for registered nurses are significantly higher.
      In Lappeenranta, the cost of living is also lower, and finding accommodation is easier. You can still apply to registered nurse programs and see where you get accepted.

      I'm not sure about your educational background and whether you're studying through an apprenticeship or as a full-time student to become a practical nurse. I recommend contacting LAB University of Applied Sciences and confirming with the Finnish Immigration Service (MIGRI) how it would affect your residence permit, or if you would need to change it. There are many factors at play here, so I can't give a straightforward yes or no.

      You still have the opportunity to apply for scholarships or grants at most universities, at least partial ones. Schools and various organizations will decide whether to award them to the applicant. It is advisable to contact a Finnish university directly about this matter.

      Hi,
      The general requirement is general or vocational upper secondary education outside of Finland, such as a high school diploma. The education should provide general eligibility for higher education in the country where the qualification was obtained.
      Yes, PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online.
      Minimum score 58.

      Thank you for being part of our channel! I'm not an expert in immigration matters. If your studies were degree-seeking, you would have direct rights to work an average of 30 hours per week. However, the work rights associated with a residence permit can vary depending on the situation, so it's advisable to check the specific conditions at migri.fi/en/home and you can directly inquire with them for more information. Welcome to Finland!

      If your diploma from your home country is a post-secondary education that grants you the right to apply for higher education or university there, then there shouldn’t be any issues with applying. In Finland, vocational education or high school provides the opportunity to apply to universities of applied sciences and universities.

    The free tuition not for we that are currently residing in Africa

    • @JohnofFinland291
      @JohnofFinland291  Před 14 dny

      Thank you for the comment! Free application means that you do not have to pay anything to submit your application. Due to a legal change, applicants from outside the EU and EEA will soon have to pay to submit their applications to higher education institutions in Finland. This practice was in place a while ago and is now being reinstated. At the same time, the scholarship and grant system will be abolished, and non-EU citizens will have to pay full tuition fees. This legal change will take effect next year. I don’t think I said that education is free, or did I? 🙂

    • @ebenezerbabalola
      @ebenezerbabalola Před 14 dny

      I mean to say no scholarship for we residing in Africa except 20% early payment rebate. Infact there tuition is much compared to some other European institutions

      @@ebenezerbabalola The rules for applying for scholarships are the same for all students from outside the EU and EEA. The regulations are not based on continent. Here is a direct quote from LAB’s website.
      ”Scholarship
      In the first academic year, no one will be granted a scholarship by LAB University of Applied Sciences. The scholarship is a 50% reduction on the annual tuition fee. A student must complete 60 credits per academic year to be eligible for the scholarship. This policy will be applied until the end of the study time.”
      “In the video, I did not compare to other European countries or schools.” 😊

      @NajebTravel Hi, I know the first company you mentioned. It is a well-known and official company in the Finnish business register, and the person behind it is very famous in Finland and internationally. It is not a scam company.
      A few reliable websites for you to explore and help with your decision-making:
      finestfuture.org/

      Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about this other company, nor have I seen any news about it. It has come up a few times on CZcams, and I have seen its website being advertised. However, I cannot say whether it is reliable or not, as I haven't heard anything about it.

      @@NajebTravel Tip! Vocational education generally has lower Finnish language requirements. This makes studying feasible even with weaker language skills. Professions that involve less interaction with people and less writing, such as welding, cooking, cleaning, and other hands-on trades, are examples. High school education is inherently demanding as it strongly prepares students for higher education, usually aiming for university. There is a lot of writing and reading involved. A larger portion of vocational school graduates go directly into a profession, and as I understand it, not many continue straight to higher education. However, those who do continue from vocational school tend to go to universities of applied sciences, while most high school graduates go to universities. It is possible but very rare to continue from vocational school to university. This is mainly because vocational school does not offer courses that prepare students for academic studies, such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, psychology, etc. In high school, it is possible to choose more in-depth courses. On the other hand, in vocational school, it is possible to complete a dual degree in four years, earning both a vocational qualification and a high school diploma. It is also possible to later pursue adult education with advanced courses that best prepare for university.
