Best engine for that kind of „ship“! I was pleased to test the 580, but experienced it quite too aggressive for this vehicle. The 350 seemed a little overwhelmed. Torque matters, also when to pull some horses frequently

I wish we got the diesel here in the US. It’s crazy to make the GLE/GLS diesels here in the US, but not offer them for sale. I would really be into a GLE or GLS400d. Its a really good engine choice for a larger SUV that manages to get decent fuel economy, while also being reasonably powerful.

The transmission isnt mean to shift quick. More focused toward smoother and quiet shift.

No matter what they do to diesels, give more turbos, more cylinders, they are still slow as hell.
Diesels should stick to being awesome daily cars, not performance cars.
I don't think 237 km/h is slow for a big ass SUV with 330 HP. But I respect your opinion.

A GLS is not a performance car
This is a Benz, not an AMG.
It's not slow. Also, have you heard of the BMW M50d models or the Audi RSQ8? All diesel and faster than most petrol vehicles. This GLS is perfect. It's more than you need plus will get great fuel economy for such a big vehicle.
It's a fucking heavy ass SUV, aerodynamic efficiency of a brick with just 330HP.

AMG do not make any DIESEL performance car currently. they only did one ever,it was a 1997(somewhere there) C-Class coupe/hatchback. did 250km/h making at the time the fastest diesel you could buy. but they did not make any more,sales were slow. so no,this is not AN AMG!!!! its a 400d
