- We recorded this new episode of Super Easy German last week at one of the many Christmas Markets in Berlin. Meanwhile one of the Christmas Markets in this city has been attacked this Monday by a disgraceful coward who killed many innocent people in the name of a crazy ideology.
We decided to post this video anyway today. And while we mourn for the innocent people who have been killed, we also need to make sure that these crazy cowards do not stop us from living the lives we want to live. These shameful acts of violence are meant to make us scared of going to nice places like the Christmas Market and enjoy our lives - but they will not succeed, not in Berlin and not anywhere.
Today the Christmas Markets in Berlin are open again and visited by many people - and we hope that once you come to Berlin you will also enjoy visiting one of these places.

I hope that the Governments of the European Countries *take lessons from Israel* in order to learn how to face terrorism, how to have Security Plans, and how to have a Police that patrols the main streets, squares, etc.
I too hope that Europe can learn from Israel. Seriously, they are role model #1 for what a secure nation state should be.
They shouldn't have allowed everybody to enter under the name of refugees. It's annoying and sad because there are people who really needed help and to be taken in. There're also some that need to be send back to were they came from.

The point is that - over the last years - the Security of France, Belgium and Germany have proven themselves to be *COMPLETELY INADEQUATE* ! Furthermore, no Policeman who stop the LKW to ask *WHERE* was it going at 8 PM in Downtown Berlin ! In Nice the LKW driver said that he was carrying "icecreams"... The LKW *near the Weihnachtsmarkt* in Berlin what the hell was carrying ??? Bretzel ???????? I hope that from now on, the European Countries will have an adequate Security. Let's hope for the best !

The Christmas markets have become a disappointment in the last ten years or more.
They use to have a lot of local artists and crafts people selling hand made items .
Now more and more the things for sale are mass produced and of poor quality.

Finde ich Toll dass Sie ein bischen langasam sprechen, weil die meinste haben das Problem wenn man schnell sprecht verbassen ein paar Worten und verstehen nicht was der andere sagt. Bravo!
Dem stimme ich ohne Umschweife zu. Was hat man schon davon, wenn man langsames Deutsch lernt und gewohnt ist und dann feststellt, dass die Leute schneller sprechen.
Btw. Deutschstudierende/r/n ist semantisch auf zweifache Weise ungünstig. Studieren tut man an der Universität. Man muss jedoch nicht Deutsch studieren, um es zu lernen. Das Partizip 1, also hier studierend, drückt eine fortwährenden Vorgang aus. Dieser Vorgang endet nicht. Ein Deutschstudierender studiert demnach den ganzen lieben langen Tag ohne Pause Deutsch und ohne etwas anderes zu machen.

Tüte is more of a cone than a bag, right? Otherwise great video and translation. Not as painfully slow as some earlier SUPER easy German videos. Just the right speed and content for those of us in our early stages of Deutsch Lernen.
To all the non Germans talking about being sensitive to Berlin.... I'd say no way. The weihnachtsmarkts are still happening in every village, small town and big city in Germany and go on every day regardless. Have done probably for hundreds of years and will continue to do so.
I have a question, in the film, Wie schmeckt es? Es schmeckt super gut. is that always with "es"? because there was also a sentence like "Die Pommes ist noch sehr heiss aber "sie" schmeckt sehr gut." Thank you!

Auf welchem Weihnachtsmarkt waren die denn im Video? Ich wohne zur Zeit in Norddeutschland und ich war einmal am Dinellestand auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt in der Stadt, und er siegt genauso aus wie der im Video. Ich wusste sowieso nicht, dass diese Dinelle typisch süddeutsch sind.

the translation at 0:28 should be "with arrow and bow". While we'd normally say "bow & arrow" in english, having that translation gives the wrong idea of which is bow and which is arrow for the words Pfeil and Bogen.
