You will arrive in Santa Maria Navarrese enchanted by the romantic streets close to the coast, bordered by the turquoise water, between benches that invite you to contemplation and white sails that stand out in the sea.
The church of Santa Maria di Navarra, dating back to the eleventh century, and the Spanish tower, built in the seventeenth century to watch the coasts, represent the historical memory of the country. From the terrace overlooking the gulf, in the shade of the pines, dominated by the tower, let yourself be enchanted by the view overlooking the small port. The legend attributes the name of the ancient church to the Princess of Navarre who ordered its construction to express gratitude to the Virgin Mary.
Among the most beautiful places in its vicinity we recommend Cala Sisine, pearl of the Gulf of Orosei, with its beach with large beans flanked by two imposing cliffs, but also Cala Mariolu, from the shallow waters, Cala Follò, Cala Goloritzè, which joins the turquoise of its waters to the white beach, and Cala Luna, considered among the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean.
The Mediterranean scrub, grouped in a thick thicket of ancient holm oaks, junipers and pines, overlooks the sharp brushstrokes of the sea. The mouflon, the falcon of the queen, the golden eagle and the Corsican gull have chosen this place still wild and rugged to carry on the species.
