The Polar Express is a 2004 American animated adventure fantasy film[1][2] directed by Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Broyles Jr., based on the 1985 children's book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. It stars Tom Hanks (in multiple roles), Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, Jimmy Bennett, and Eddie Deezen. The film features human characters animated using live action and motion capture computer animation, with sequences for the latter taking place from June 2003 to May 2004. Set on Christmas Eve, it tells the story of a young boy who sees a mysterious train bound for the North Pole stop outside his window and is invited aboard by its conductor. He joins other children as they embark on a journey to visit Santa Claus preparing for Christmas.
🎬EDITING🎬
@Tim_Belay - Zábava
It would have been so weird if they went with their initial idea to have Tom Hanks in all the roles. Im glad they got other actors involved.
Little black girl tom hanks would be fire though 🔥
@@spunkyfunkymonke(real)
tom hanks making train noises woulda been fire🔥
It would be better
As if this movie wasn't a fever dream enough as it is! XD
Fun Fact: Tom Hanks played 7 roles in this film, and earned FOURTY MILLION DOLLARS
Zemeckis-Man into the Tom Hanks Verse
8 crazy nights or nothing 😰
He made almost 100 million total as he had a 20% commission ontop of the 40 million
I love Kor's disbelief when they play the song a 14th time right before ending the movie
Just add another 4 to that count but true I honestly forgot how many times they play it
Say what you want about this movie, but the hot chocolate scene is so fucking iconic
Ong
For real!
True
Iconically weird
I honestly always liked this movie. It just had such a unique vibe to it.
So excited to see Jack in his first big role.
Yeah me too
Yeah me three
Yeah me fourth
Yeah me fifth
His second, really. Nightmare before christmas.
I still love this movie. The part where they go full Initial D with the drifting still hypes me up to this day.
Have you Sean elf because that my favourite never scene this one before this video
SAME
This movie is a certified Christmas hood classic 👌
Favorite Christmas Movie too!!
We making out the North Pole with this one!
17:17 It's actually vile how well this was photoshopped
I really liked this movie as a kid yet at the same time there’s so many scenes that would scare the hell outta me 💀
Supposedly the homeless man on top of the train was the ghost of someone who previously tried to hitch a ride on the train but didn't get off the top in time and died crashing against the top of the gallery, hence him warning the kid so much about it.
Nah, it's the Christmas hobo/Santa Claus
@@Wex_Sixwhat the guy said above is from a deleted scene, look it up
hit with the christmas spirit lmaooo
"It's a dating sim!"
"WITH CHILDREN!?"
Walked right into that.
The kid with the glasses is literally a biblically accurate nerd emoji.
I actually loved this movie as a kid and still do. Also since Scrooge appears in this movie maybe you could watch Disney's A Christmas Carol from 2009. It's motion capture too.
And hideous and creepy and gives you motion sickness. It's Polar Express turned up to 11.
They joke about this movie being horror, but that movie is a horror film
That movie is honestly the closest adaptation of the book.
It's also directed by Robert Zemeckis. The same guy who directed this movie.
@@siphonophoresdoes this dude have a kink for creepy GCI christmas movies
Say what you will about it, But "The Polar Express" is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies! In fact one of my favorite parts is when they drive the train across the frozen lake, It's the most badass scene in the entire film in my opinion!
When I first watched it, my parents bought me a little jingle bell that was exactly what the bell in the polar express was supposed to be, a bell that only rings if you believe in Santa Claus. It even came with a ticket to the polar express
I've had that bell for 10+ years
SAME
@@BluCashierI want that bell now 😂😂😂😂
@@BluCashier And does the bell still ring for you?
@@TheCommenterDragonit rings for all that truly believe
“Sir none of the actors showed up”
“That’s ok we’ll fix it in post”
-and that’s how the Polar Express was made
10:01 Also, fun fact: this puppet was the inspiration for Scrooge's design in the Jim Carrey _Christmas Carol_ - they just made him look more like, you know, Jim Carrey.
I've never seen Polar Express (only a part here or there in the beginning I think bc I thought I already missed the majority of it when it would play on TV) and I genuinely cannot tell how long this movie is. This video is only 19 minutes but the movie clips made it feel like I was watching for 3 hours 😭
Polar Express where you see a train drift through the thick ice in style.
The animation is the only thing that didn’t age well. The music and message is still close to my heart
And I’m a Muslim lol
okay
SAME, the animation isn't the best but it's music's so beautiful...
What if instead of remaking movies, studios remastered movies with newer animation and graphics but still the same location, plot, and characters.
@@ethansanchez6267 that would be GREAT
@@ethansanchez6267 reboots usually aren't that good tho
I literally just watched this on stream last night, talking about how much I love this movie. I then wake up and see the title and immediately started dying laughing. Like bro I just said this was my favorite Christmas movie and the first thing I see next day is how bad it is lmaooo
Don’t let these jaded nerds block your shine
@@Jersh. Who are the jaded nerds ?
“Kanye already doesn’t f_ck with Hanukkah” 💀💀💀
I actually really like this movie. I think it is very good.
Btw, the Polar Express locomotive is actually a real locomotive. The Pere Marquette 1225. It currently runs in Owosso Michigan. You can see it if you want.
Lionel Trains continues to milk off the film, 17 years later.
@@TrinityShoji Hooray Neil Young
Magic Carpet on the rails never gets a rest.
Also, the author of the Polar Express (original book) was from Grand Rapids, MI and would watch the steam trains running in and out.
Pere Marquette's Detroit-Grand Rapids main line ran right by his backyard.
Non-zero chance he grew up watching 1225 (and the other N-1 class Berks) running by his house.
Hey! You were in the movie!
I remember watching this animated movie with my school class together, was a lot of fun!
We watched it in year five for me, everyone was losing it over the "cup of joe" for some reason. Good times 😂
My sister is a Kindergarten teacher. She shows her students this movie. Nice to see the legacy continue, even if this movie hasn't held up upon recent rewatch for me.
We went on a field trip to see this movie when I was in kindergarten
True story: this was the only movie my dad made me leave in the middle of because I kept crying about not wanting to watch it after a while.
I watched this movie on Christmas Eve because it’s a tradition for my family relatives on my mum’s side to watch it every Christmas Eve. It’s not my thing, but at least my family was into it.
Give it 20 years, it’ll be your favourite Christmas movie
same!!
In all 23 years of my life I've never seen this movie and at this point i'm too afraid to ask what even the plot is
there isn’t a plot
It's based off a book and the book is short children's picture book. So like... There's not much plot in the original so they kinda just added stuff in to make the run time longer lmao
Basically the boy gets to the North Pole and starts believing in Santa, that's it. The rest is pure padding, but I still like it.
@@DoratTheKillerso like every other movie to ever exist lmao?
i feel that misses the point of the movie? its like asking whats the plot of slice of life. Sometimes a minimalistic plot is an excuse to make the journey exist In the first place.
The characters are bare bones yes but I feel there is a reason it is a standard Christmas movie they show In schools. Drinking hot chocolate In elementary school while watching the movie was a fulfilling experience for me. Being In collage right now I kind of miss those times
Kor and Blue are the cutest bois ever. However, I can never unsee Jack as the know-it-all in this movie and I am so sorry.
That last sentence is so real
Do not apologize, we all agree
This is one of my favorite childhood Christmas movies, and still I love till this day.
Fun fact: That train carriage shouldn't have started free rolling as the brakes would've activated. These trains use hydraulic or air systems to force the brakes open and if there's a fault then it locks. But I guess for movie purposes that logic doesn't exist.
I cannot tell you how hard I am resisting the urge to nerd emoji
Thanks, Know-It All Kid!
Bait like this is genuinely annoying. I guess that makes it good.
@@Jersh. Who you talking to?
seeing as the train cars literally bend like rubber when going around the corners on the mountain scene, i dont think logic applies to this train at all
you guys’ lighthearted mocking of movies seriously cheers me up, it’s always silly and funny, merry Christmas!
When I was in 5th grade, there were 2 movies we would watch. The polar Express and national treasure. I could probably recite the lines from both movies word for word. Must've watch both 100 times.
I saw both movies when i was in school, but can barely recall anything from either one.
Perfect video to watch while eating my Christmas feast alone 😌
I always love when jack shows up in this movie hes my favorite character
I never got to see this movie as a kid and I had the grand misfortune of missing every screening on tv as an adult. My first experience with the movie at all was that CZcams edit where they play the Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift song during the ice lake scene and to this day that remains a core memory.
How dare you; this is a certified hood classic!
This movie holds a special place in my heart ❤️
Jack really is in every movie
He's like how Markiplier's face is in every movie and show.
Santa hates spilling his milk but he loves Spilling The Milk
Never did I think they'd watch The Polar express out of all children's Christmas movies...
Someone made an EAS Scenario video of the Polar Express. Really reminds you that it’s really creepy that a conductor is kidnapping children and freaking the parents out.
3:16 It’s Jack!!!! Waahhooowww!!!!
17:09 I actually thought that was a fucking edit until he spoke, I spat out my water bro
Honestly, BlueEyes is one of my favorite guest reactors of the channel
I swear this is the 3rd time I’ve heard them make a The Boy In Striped Pajamas reference-joke throughout different videos they’ve made recently 😭
Idc what people say about polar express I loved it as a kid and I still love it now yes it didn’t age well but I still love the music, characters, and the messages in the movie not hating on y’all video I just really like polar express hope y’all did had a good Christmas
I will not tolerate any Polar Express slander
14:01 the conductor should be a playable character in fortnite lmao
Is it bad that when this movie came out, I legitimately couldnt tell if it was animated or live action. I was 4 and the graphics didn't look like anything I've seen before that.
This is a great movie and I'm glad you met Tom Hanks, Jack. 😎
This is my favorite childhood movie, i dont know if i cant see the uncanny valley or whatever but i love it. It feels like a moving renaissance painting, even now i see bells like the one he got i think about Santa…..
Polar Express - now that's a Christmas movie I haven't heard in a long time.
The animation looks like me on a Monday morning
I genuinely loved Jacks jokes in this one, Blue eyes has a great energy always and Korr going slowly crazy and singing was the fucking highlight
Bro really thought we wouldn't notice him in the movie
I loved watching this in school during Christmas lol
Damn they posted this after High Boi did a recap of it, I can now watch those lifeless eyes twice today.
I LOVE how they put jack in the movie
I'm glad that we were all thinking that kid looks like Dewey. So far I've watched this movie with people that haven't watched Malcolm in the middle 😭
It is crazy how much this movie has all the conventions of a typical horror game story. It may be kind of tired trope, but you could very easily re-edit this into a horror trailer.
Fun fact: I just finished watching this movie. I'm on my Lenovo watching this because I'm waiting for my baby brother to stop watching CZcams so I can play Street Fighter 6.
It might be clunky and creepy at times, but we watch it every year. We always have cocoa during the hot chocolate song. ☕️
I rewatched this movie for a few days ago and it's for real so unnecessarily and purposefully scary. You saying it looks like Bully has put all of the puzzle pieces together in my mind and explained exactly why this movie feels so grimy and unsettling to me.
Me and two other friends were friends with one of the english teachers in my highschool. The year after we graduated we all got together and watched this and we kept telling her that all of the kids were dead and his Christmas wish was for a second chance and that's why he is so hype the next morning
Thanks for the video!
It’s an odd movie that takes up a very large part of my memories, because back in Elementary School, they’d play this movie for every class every year just before Christmas Break.
0:18 Not Jack having a Disney Princess poster in his room!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can't believe he was not in the film, the child in it copied his look.
I love you guys, keep up the content
:)
Just rewatched a few days ago. Still love it.
Same here!
Same it's my favorite movie
Merry Christmas my milk brothers 🎅🎅🎅
I would love for you guys to do Cartoon Network Christmas specials. Like Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo and Powerpuff Girls
Merry Christmas, Milk Boys🎄
This was the best Christmas gift I’ve had this year un ironically lol
It's so damn funny to me that everyone is tom Hanks 🤣
"Ho ho ho iiiis what Santa says when referring to your mom" is the funniest diss I've heard all year
EDIT: it's unrelated I just wanted to mention it
this video was frcking hilarious man, spilling the milk truly filled me up with this one
You should watch A Christmas Story since my family always puts on the Christmas Story 24 hour marathon against my will
I personally am not a huge fan of this movie, but seeing y’all roast it is HILARIOUS! Also now I can’t unsee that mandark kid looking like Jack 😂😂
Both the high boi man and the spilling goats did polar express analysis/reaction on the same day and it’s awesome.
My childhood trauma was the puppet scene.
I hate this movie because when my german teacher broke his hip, the substitute we had would just play this movie every single day. The worst part is that she would always forget where we left off so she would just start the movie from the beginning. I only found out how this movie ended 2 years later when we watched it during our Christmas party
6:31
Dude is moving like an animatronic
17:27 bro I was dying 🤣
I JUST looked it up. Apparently Josh Hutcherson WAS the mocap actor for the main kid, whos name in the movie is listed as....hero boy.
Tom Hanks did the mocap, but Josh Hutcherson did his voice
i still love this movie
edit: that reminds me. In regards to this movie, every year at my elementary school, they'd have the fifth graders perform a theatrical version of the movie for all the lower grades. It was certainly an experience.
Love this movie. Every Christmas my family always gets together to watch it in our living room. it's one of the only times I sit together with my family
Merry Christmas! Funny comparison to the glasses kid at the beginning lol.
Still my favorite Christmas movie....EVER.
I actually have a HO scale 284 Berkshire engine like the movie and hand-painted "Polar Express" on the tender....that was a few years ago...could use a repaint
I literally just finished watching this movie XD
Marry Christmas everyone!!
17:56 best part bc it has to be this way…
Merry Christmas Spilling the milk!
The fact that I watched this yesterday and now they doing the video on it wild
Can yall watch Grandma got Runover by a reigndeer? That movie is literally insane, Santa kidnaps this woman instead of bringing her to a hospital, there’s SO MUCH HAPPENING
And for some reason my brain is like Men in Black mindwiped about it on December 31st
This is so funny because I just finished rewatching this and realizing how batshit insane it is when this video was published
Jack is too pretty to be a Polar Express character.
1:45 you just unearth so many memories with that clip
This film is amazing. Genuinely one of my favourites
high boi uploaded his new video on this movie and now you guys...
thanks for some nice holidays!
Even though the human animation haven't age well, the background and atmosphere still are amazing and i always look forward to watch these movie every christmas.🎄🎅🦌🚂🔥🍫
Ain’t no way y’all post this as I’m watching it already 🤣
Aw hell nah, they turned Santa into Richard Nixon, #NotMySanta
