Is it really required to have the balancer as well? I'm asking because I ordered raser plus and a good pair of nippers from dspiae 3.0

It isn't super necessary to have the balancer, though it does help for keeping a uniform finish to the plastic. If you plan on painting your kits, then it is not necessary at all. I really like it for snap builds.
