Greece in recent years always beats Puerto Rico. Mostly by simply outplaying PR. But this game was a whole different story. I will always remember this game as the worst called game I've seen. Greece was losing most of the game and couldn't score in the 4th quarter. The run that gave Greece the lead was built on free-throws from dubious calls. All that being said, Greece vs. Puerto Rico has always been one of the best games to watch, very competitive. Can't wait for this summer and another classic showdown. Go Puerto Rico!

I'm puertorican and I think that Greece is better. Greece doesn't have betters players than PR, but the Greeks as a team play better; they pass the ball more. PR depends too much on point guards. Also, Greeks players are much taller and have an incredible 3 point shot.
This Greek team had some chemistry issues after an exhibition game with our hot headed brothers from Serbia which ended in a fight. Also disqualified two of our players. Otherwise I think Greece would have won more easily against PR.
Im greek and i agree that the ref helped greece in this game just like they helped turkey against serbia. Puerto rico should have won this altho i dont believe they had a better team. I have felt injustice(remember the semifinal in 2007 between greece and spain? where spanish players were taking acting lessons?) so it would be stupid and ignorant to say that we won this by ourself. I hope in the future the ref are better.

Puerto Rico is a B level team in the Americas. Brazil and Argentina are A level teams and can compete with Europe's best. Puerto Rico falls short in that respect. Greece is an A level team in Europe. During the last decade, only Spain was better. This year Puerto Rico may have a chance to beat Greece though, since they are rebuilding, have a lot of 21 year olds on their roster, and will have some important absentees as well. This is the only window of oppurtunity PR will get to beat Greece.
