How Fast Can You Get The Mace?

- I wanted to know how long it takes the average player to get the mace (new 1.21 Minecraft feature). Cause it is an end game weapon.
Thanks for watching :)

Let me know what you think about it. Edit: Just to make it clear, I like the mace as a weapon. And this is just a test and me sharing my thoughts about the mace (I think it's a great addition).
7 min is crazy dont forget me when you famous
Same for me
Are you german?
You’re underrated
Windburst was nerfed😢
To be fair about this being an 'endgame weapon', this is a game where you can technically beat the boss of The End in 7 minutes (2 minutes on a set seed)
that is true lmao
not "you", speedrunners, and the distinction is necessary cause to do that type of thing, knowledge, luck and skill is required, its not about anyone that can beat the world record in a game
@@gtagusta Yea, but that same kind of skill knowledge and luck would be required to acquire a mace expediently
@@alex6027 not really no? its not really like you need alot of knowledge of the game to know how to get a mace, only luck would be a real big factor, and even then you can just cheat your way through it via outside tools or commands, and on skill, fighting mobs shouldnt be too hard with things like bed respawn points, shields, armor, keep inventory, saturation, and so on in the game, and its not like their AI is that complex either, so you can just exploit that too, even more so if you dont need to deal with a timer that much
@@gtagustathey said technically…
So, for the record: the vaults in the trial chamber can drop ominous potions, so you don’t need to go to an outpost!
My bad you realized this I’m dumb 😅
I did in fact realize that lmao

That villager outpost spawning in the powdered snow biome is so unique and sinking in the snow felt like a real environmental hazard while fighting the pillagers. such cool world generation, that biome should be bigger and have more stuff generate in it to have powdered snow work to its full potential.
It was a hazard. Definitely way more dangerous than most biomes, which I like (even though it can be annoying). So I think you're right, I would love sth like that in the game.
@@niesnOnce you learn how to tell between powdered and regular snow its a interesting hazard for sure.
It's the most fun when you have leather boots and then you can use it to your advantage
@@Gilly2020 The idea of having a cabin in some snowy woods surrounded by powdered snow actually sounds like a really cool base defense idea ngl. Just casually go across with the leather boots while everything else sinks.
@@hallowedchromee310 that's actually a really cool idea!
The way I see it, pretty much all "endgame" items can be obtained in < 1hr if your only purpose in the world is to get that item. If you don't worry about making a base, building, farming, etc you could get an elytra pretty quick. Same applies here with the mace
ok that's a valid point
valid
Counterpoint: Wearable Hoglin helmet.
@@strisselstudios3932 lmao
Exactly fe I was focusing only on looting end cities and got 15 elytras in my hardcore world in a short amount of time
When you know how to optimize every step (almost) it’s easy. But I think that for an average player it takes a lot of time and effort. Besides, the way to get it uses a lot of mechanic and is just very fun
that's true, and it really is fun
Minecraft doesnt really have that much progression. Your first set of armor ur most likely to get is the 3rd best and before netherite was literally the 2nd best one. You use wood for like 2 seconds to get stone tools, those for a little more before u get iron and ur almost at the best gear possible. Minecrafts progression is a little lacking. Like its not a massively big deal but there is totally a lot of depth that could be added. Im not even mentioning that there are like 2 bosses. It feels like the devs wanted to add way more but sorta forgot or went to develop other things instead. Then again with the recent april fools update being kind of a list of things the devs wanna work on but for whatever reason cant and there being a boss kinda shows they are aware of it, so I hope there will eventually be an update that will make the game feel a bit more cohesive and maybe flesh out the progression more. Cuz right now its just get iron in like 30 minutes, get diamonds in 2 hours max and beat the game in like 3 on a casual playthrough. Just look at RT Game's recent playthrough, he beat the game in the first episode lmao.
@@fleggy5050 Yeah considering how many systems and structures there are that reward the player with "gear" the game both emphasizes that getting max gear is your reward for doing things and yet getting 90% of the way to that point is incredibly easy... Making all these systems feel ultimately worthless for 90% of the time you're playing.... It's legit harder to move up the ore tech tree in terraria pre hard mode, and that's not even 2% of the game
Minecraft is a game of many interesting problems with uninteresting solutions, and even less interesting rewards for solving said problems... Honestly this is what makes the create mod so special, it completes the other half of the sandbox by giving the player cool and unique ways to find their own solutions, and unlike other mods it makes those solutions even come with their own challenges and problems for the player to solve and work around.
You want to make a farm for renewable granite? Cool, here's all the parts to do that, there's just an infinite number of ways you could put them together to do that and you gotta figure out how you're going to do it
Chunk base and some skill aren't too rare
@@darkner9041 chunk base isn't rare but it's also not vanilla, the game is not balanced around people using websites to analyze all the locations in their seed
Ive been playing minecraft for years and i was not be able to best a trial chamber with the omen effect without diamond gear so i think its even harder for most people than you assumed
yeah, it depends. For me it's not really hard, but I see your point. Haven't really thought of that.

I feel like instead of just getting a Heavy Core, there should instead be an item that summons a new boss (kinda like the Wither) which then drops the core.
honestly, that would be a great idea
Or just a final boss in the trial chambers
@@Mrmghz1Perhaps a boss themed around the wind charges that throws wind charges more chaotically as the time goes down.
That way, the boss doesn't even need to even damage the player, the fall damage would just do its job
@@gdmathguy That sounds like a good idea, but how about having heavy cores float around it? It could squish you with them as it is flinging you around
@SS-rf1ri Agreed, but I wouldn't mind if it was still a little RNG (like, a 1/8 chance this summoning item drops)
I normally wouldn’t comment but I gotta say, excellent choice of using Cutthroat Carnival from Skylanders in the outpost segment. Brought me back to my childhood :)
yoo, glad to hear that :)
I knew, that was some skylanders music😂
Amazing video, update looks amazing. I feel like the trial chamber should have an entrance starting on surface, like a sprial challenge type dungeon. Mining fatigue should probably accompany this to make it truly an endgame structure, as you can box up and get away pretty easily while carrying low tier armor
An Entrance would be so cool, but idk about mining fatigue. They would've to implement it better than it is in monuments. Maybe so it only lasts for a few seconds after you leave the trial chambers and it's weaker than the mining fatigue we currently have.
you DELETING the bed and then saying 'hope I don't die' only to die and have to walk all the way back was funny as hell.
classic tho lmao
For your average player, this is going to be an endgame weapon, you have to have decent gear and weapons plus tools and potions, you need to know how to trade with villagers and all that stuff.

Only one village generates in an area of 295,000 blocks but obviously people know that villages aren't that rare. Nice video though, I also agree with your point, but I feel like a lot of things in Minecraft are too easy to get, and that the issues just stem from the progression in general.

The sheer amount of notch apples is insane - on previous worlds, if I ever found one, I would just hang it up on an item frame on my front door lmao

you guys should have done the 'thing' banner
something about the mace is that it’s not just tedious to get, but also incredibly situational. how often are you getting the jump on something from 3+ blocks above them, and how accurate is your hit gonna be on a moving target?
yeah that's very true
Enchantments and wind charges makes it a weapon so powerful that only crystal pvp can match up to it. Watch some mace pvp videos, you can hit a target actively running away full speed and combo them. Doing enough damage to instantly kill someone with full prot 4 nephrite armor easily.
wind charges:
The problem is, the mace TECHNICALLY is an end game weapon, but due to Minecraft's sandbox nature, the progression is all over the place.
Not just this, Trial Chambers as a structure are made *intentionally* to be a mid-game structure, adding another common effect (Bad Omen) doesn't make Ominous Trial Chambers more on the farther side of the progression, the only late-game thing about Maces is how powerful it is-- trivializing every enemy in this game.
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38the mace is not powerful enough to "trivialize every enemy." You need a height advantage and a clear shot to get good damage on an enemy, and that is pretty hard to pull off on many mobs, even with wind charges. Sure it can one-shot enemies by themselves, but real combat scenarios get much more complicated that that
@@supermagma No it isn't, PvE in particular; it's SERIOUSLY not hard to land a good hit with a Mace when ALL (except those that flies or swims) mobs tend to stand right below you when you are at a higher height because the AI in this game is so primitive-- making it easy for you to align any mob to a place it's easier to hit them.
The only time "real combat scenario" has any weight in this argument is in PvP
Edit: What's even crazier is the two Boss Mobs that flies here aren't even that much different, Ender Dragon perches in the middle making their movement extremely predictable which gives you a large window to 1-hit them, and Java Withers are one of the dumbest mobs ever since they just either try to go above you no matter what (which you can prevent them from doing with an elytra/riptide) or they get easily distracted by other mobs and stay still-- also giving you a chance to 1 hit them.
The only mob which this isn't the case even *remotely* are Wardens solely due to their high hp, even then; simply having full Netherite (not that hard to get) or some [normal] golden apples with Maces and Wind Charges is enough to deal with Wardens face to face.
YOU DESERVE MORE SUBS AND LIKES BRO. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Thanks, I will
I think the way you have to be higher than the mob you are fighting makes up for the fact you can get it pretty easily. Plus it's a reward for taking on a more difficult challenge, and the one you can't really easily cheese or autofarm, so i think it's fair as is right now.
2:18 powdered snow or whatever the one that makes u fall in is hands down my least favourite addition to this game .
phantoms are worse tho
To be fair, some people can get an elytra in 15 minutes. It’s not that far off in time if it were perfectly optimized

@@Gilly2020 thank you :)
@@niesn ur welcome
2:34 Is that the song in Cutthroat Carnival from Skylanders? God, I haven't played that game in ages.
yep, it is
I like how Enchanted Golden Apple was made less rare because of it. But honestly, the Mace isn’t that good. It’s novelty. It’s like a trident… you might need it for some uses. But it’s nowhere near as important to put it into a rare reward tier of a more difficult Trial Chamber tier which is in itself finicky to trigger.
Not really. Mace is very good. Mace is different to trident and is more important than sword and axe. You just have some massive skill issues.
considering it took you about three hours to get the mace with the sole intent and dedication of working towards it, i think this is less about where it lies in "the progression" of a sandbox game and more that you need to put in work to get a powerful weapon.
a lot of people seem to view the progression in minecraft as overworld>nether>end which, while it makes sense as a passive observation, if you delve into minecraft's game design it's never that simple. Goals are player driven and need to be weighed out for several factors, how easy the goal is, how rewarding the outcome is, what obstacles need to be overcome, to name a few
yeah I agree, but making it a bit harder (like having to kill a wither to make beacons) might be good idea
@@niesn I think it should be tied to the monuments instead, that way you have powerful items tied to the Overworld (Mace) Nether (Beacon) and End (Elytra).
This has nothing to do with progression. It's inherently unbalanced in it's current state, which rarity or progression has no effect on.
With that being said, this was extremely unoptimized and could be cut down to half an hour or so by any dedicated player. Probably even less.
Find village, level map maker, go to structure (this might take the longest), get potion from vault, get core from vault with potion effect.
Bring a bed to respawn wherever.
@@schnek8927 try the mace yourself, it is not as easy as clicking an enemy to kill it, you actually have to be skillful with the mace, rather than just watching people's twitter clips in which they show the 1 successful attempt after countless failures
it's powerful, so long as you actually know how to wield it properly, which seems pretty balanced to me
Can’t wait to see how the Vanilla PvP community to find crazy PvP tactics with the mace

I feel like mace would ruin the use of swords and axes completely. Although there are some counters to the mace such as shields, shields are very easy to break and its easy to get hit with your back turned on them. Plus, if you have the enchantment, the mace will just keep jumping and hitting you until your shield breaks. A good method to escape this is probably pearling away but you can only have 16 of them in a stack. Imagine a fight where its just ppl pearling over and over again. If it runs out, then its really bad. This really encourages the use of mace over axe and sword which basically makes the mace the meta. I know there is a use of axe to disable shields with but the axe just serves that one purpose. What if the mace doesn't do more damage than a sword unless you jump from high enough to give a purpose to the sword. What if there's a direct counter to maces unlike pearls. I thought of breeze balls having a second feature that can be used to dodge in the horizontontal(to not make it too op) direction you are looking, such as a jett dash. I think this would be more reliable than pearls since you don't take damage and also have more stackability during a fight. It also activates instantly so you don't need more reaction time to use it unlike pearls. This would counter the mace completely and make the players resort to swords and shields if they wanna do damage. I wouldn't want a new weapon to be countered completely but this would be helpful when the enemy is eating, not moving, or just caught of guard. The weapon is op and I think it would def have a use with these changes. Thats just my idea.
Holy. Honestly, these are all really good ideas. But I don't think the devs are gonna change anything. And also, I think ppl will come up with some good counters over time. We'll see
🤓☝
Dude there's a counter that makes the mace close to useless in the endgame. It's called end crystals. There's an entire community centered around cpvp.
End crystals absolutely obliterate players if they stand above them, and since the mace's entire thing is jumping to deal damage, it would suck.
@@iulic9833 wait, I didn't even think of that. But you're right

I think it was fine until the windburst nerf
Except the 1-hit boss thing and the Density Enchantment, oh and the Breach Enchantment.
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38 the 1 hit boss thing with a setup more difficult than just killing the enderdragon with a normal sword.
The density enchantment doesn't change that fact.
In pvp you can only 1-hit unsuspecting victims, good luck getting a moving target, which is something a end-cristal can do too
And 5 hits to kill a fully armored player is finally fast enough that people don't just can keep eating golden apples to offset the damage. That's very strong, but still less than the damage of an end crystal.
@@bytezero3818 The density enchantment DOES in fact change that, since the setup (which barely requires any) MASSIVELY reduces the amount of block you need to use and fall from-- which also massively reduces the risk.
And this doesn't change the fact that being able to 1-hit a Boss is just bad game design by itself, especially considering this item isn't even that much harder to get compared to other rare items like Beacons (from Wither Skulls).
Remember; Ender Dragons and Withers aren't even updated yet which they 100% plan to do, so that excuse isn't even gonna hold up in the long run.
Think more outside the box because Maces literally limits the variation of mobs and bosses they can add in the future if they ever want to add something actually challenging, by forcing them to only have 1 movement type as to not be a trivial mob to take down because of the Mace
If you ACTUALLY played with anyone with a Mace before, this one is just straight up not true.
You only need to drop from 2-3Blocks (a common elevation) to 1 hit kill a fully-geared player with Strength II, if there's no elevation; you can always use Wind Charge to go up 2-3 Blocks which aren't as easy to "simply move away" from.
Even without Strength II, it's completely possible to nearly 1-hit a Player from just 7 Blocks with Wind Charges even if they are moving, it's not as hard as people here are claiming considering you yourself can move mid-air and you still have 3 blocks of range
Not only that; the fact that it makes Netherite Swords and Axes completely obsolete is again-- bad game design, because even with End Crystals; both Swords and Axes still have use cases in PvP, now there's no reason to use them at all (Not to mention; End Crystals are completely impractical in PvE)
Either way, just because there's already an awfully balanced weapon that exists doesn't mean there should be another one.
Also, they already have combat experiments that are actually well balanced solving the DPS issue we have now, using "people don't just can keep eating golden apples to offset the damage" is simply a lazy excuse for a badly balanced weapon and will not hold up inevitably, so they might as well balance it now so there's not gonna be a bigger backlash in the future.
I brought up the future a lot here, this is because Minecraft is a long-term game and decisions that works out in the long run are much better than short-sighted features that are only good at the moment, otherwise; you get broken features like Anvils, 1.9 combat, etc.
U have that hard german accent i love it❤ keep These banger vids up

you can get an ominous bottle in the trial chamber. Just open a trial thing with the trial key and you have a chance it will drop a ominous bottle
you got mad potential bro, keep up the good work, you got this.
yooo thank you bro, I will
the best argument for why its too easy to get would come from comparing it to the previous best melee weapon, the netherite axe
i am a freak of nature and speedrun getting endgame gear before i even have a decent house, i usually play with one other person, i task them with going for obsidian, sheep farm and wood, whilst i go out looking for villages to farm their beds but also make a start on a villager breeder
within 30 minutes i will be in the nether spamming beds for netherite, the hardest part about netherite is getting to the correct y level without running into lava on your way down, after that, especially with the wood and wool farm done and the other person going for diamonds, we will have full netherite before the hour ends
alone it would take me around an hour, with a duo, i know it will always be under 1 hour
this was pre update. with the new update it is weirdly hard to get netherite, when the most notable upgrade is simply that it wont burn in lava. its basically diamond gear that you cant lose in lava.
comparing that to the mace which you could very easily get within a 1 hour window if you use an online map to find the chambers like a sane human being and honestly, getting it within 1 hour is something i know i could guarantee, especially given that you dont really need to loot up beforehand
bro wrote a whole book lmao
and yes, excatly, thank you. Also full netherite in under 1 hour is insane dude

let's be honest here. no one is gonna speedrun getting a mace that fast unless they're one of those sweats that only plays pvp based smps.
that's true
There will definitely be a speed run category for it
Considering how overpowered this item is, why wouldn't they?
@@doge_69 Because being able to kill stuff quickly doesn't actually amount to much in terms of progress. If you care about killing a certain mob as quickly as possible then getting the mace is slower than doing it through other methods and if you want a large amount of resources your time would be better spent building farms.
@@deesoff What if you want to smash other players in an smp?
before the mace was revealed, I had a feeling they were gonna add a new weapon
the mace kind of reminds me of the "calamity godly Tractus True Palladiniun Mage Hammer of Might" from terraria
the what lmao
there is no way that is actually a name for an item
I came back playing minecraft after almost 10 years, watching this video trying to understand anything make my brain explode
lmao, but dude, 10 years? You've gotta quiet a lot of new things to check out. I'd recommend you visit the nether (it's basically completely different now, in a good way. Cause of 1.16)
@@niesn yeah a lot of new stuff i always find myslef lost tho like i went to the neither didn’t find anything gotta watch some videos
Honestly I feel like using ChunkBase is sort of "cheating" in trying to figure out how long it would take, alot of things would become pretty easy to get using external tools, like the same tool can locate huge ore veins that can give stacks of iron for example
But for some reason, they can't put power and flame enchants on the crossbow.
that flying thing is too funny lmao
Trail chamber are like bunkers when i saw the bed rooms
How do you only have 531 subs?
kme too, your video is way to good
thank you :) all good things take time (I saw that quote somewhere lmao)
@@vintastict thanks mate :)
@@niesn yeah your content is really good
I feel like they shouldn't be in the game in their current state. Like, did they playtest them at all? Do they realize that all other methods of fighting will be irrelevant if they dont nerf them?
I don't think that all other methods will be irrelevant. Especially crystal pvp might be really op against a mace. But we'll see
honestly most "late game" things in Minecraft can be cheesed hard, this is one of the less egregious examples imo (like... its still harder than what you would have to do to beat the game in 20 minutes). I don't think most of the player base will be doing this willy nilly.
that's true
nobody seems to be mentioning this s ill just leave it here. u can actually see what reward u will be getting from the side of the vault (both normal and ominous). so as long as u got good reflexes u only need one ominous key. also u could get the bad omen bottle from the vault as well.
Underrated channel ❤
thanks :)
sorry to ask but whats the chance to get the core from the ominous vault again? like a precentage?
uhm I don't know actually. @PhoenixSC recently uploaded a video in which he tested it. I thinks it's like 8-10%
8%, but considering there are at least 6+ Ominous Vaults in every Trial Chambers; the chance of you getting Heavy Core is actually higher than just 8%.
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38I checked, it's 7.5%
the takeaway is while you can get the mace as soon as you spawn in and it would take you a while do consider the fact that in that amount of time you probably could have beaten the game thrice over with end cities looted
basically yes
cant believe mojang saw all the problems with villagers and went "lets just make people rely on them even more"
The item is too strong for Minecraft period, I don't care how hard it is to get. Think End Crystals, annoying and hard as hell to get, but out of place in a fair pvp setting for how utterly broken they are
It is really strong, but there are multiple ways to counter it. You can use shields or just move out of the way if you can. Then again, it can one shoot players from a 2 block fall or sth. I guess we'll see once 1.21 comes out
From an infinite height it’s probably not that hard to dodge
@@turkey4802 Do we really need to start playing Minecraft multiplayer like it's a third world country and constantly be watching for the equivalent of insta-killing drone strikes? Everything can be "countered" in some capacity, but that doesn't mean it's balanced
End crystals are way more powerful, and are way easier to get (it's just an eye of ender and a ghast tear) than the mace so I'm not sure what the point is.
@@iulic9833 I mean, if they're not even considered hard to get then end crystals are even worse than I thought balance-wise
Stopped playing years ago. Tf happened to Minecraft?
They updated it…?
Haven’t played since 2013, looks like they added some stuff
@@Critter1267 you can see how I’m surprised🤣 shits like 3d terraria at this point
Actually, according to mojang, it’s a mid game weapon. They said that the trial chambers are there for mid game players
yeah, but from the damage it deels it could very well be an end game weapon
@@niesn it’s not like mojang cares about balancing in the first place
@@enderspider5001why would they??? Its a block game. Its not league.
@@lolz3895 I’m gonna pretend you didn’t say that
I wouldn’t call the Mace an Endgame weapon, it’s more like a Trident, just very unique. It requires a lot of setup to do the boss instakills and right now the Mace has yet to be properly balanced. It’s feature complete but it needs more fine tuning, so it will likely be more balanced in the final version.
I definitely think the Heavy Core rates should be increased, but also the Ominous Trials should be a bit more difficult. More armor, more consistently applied effects to the mobs, etc.
To make it more difficult to obtain, add to the recipe:
1 Netherite block
1 Conduit
1 Totem
1 End crystal
1 Amethyst shard
1 Music disc 5
might be too much lmao
