In this tutorial I show you how to paint Deathskulls so you can get them ready to play Warhammer 40,000
This is an easy to follow guide that uses Citadel products to achieve fantastic looking miniatures, even if you’re new to the hobby.

hahaha you mention about kitchen paper vs paper towels and every time I do my voice over I always debate which one to say. in my head I say paper towels because I'm not sure kitchen paper is used world wide? I don't know, I prefer kitchen paper haha so probably go back to that. but you'll hear me say both across my videos :P

I'm a big fan of the flesh tone glaze on the ears and lips, it's almost a signature of your ork style, it really works! I'm getting ready to paint an ork bloodbowl team that has blue armor so this video was super helpful, subbed.

I'm painting a lot of mantic goblins right now and your entire channel is a goldmine of not only good, but approachable means to get models both nice and on the table - from painting cloth to various tones of green skin and brown leather. From someone who needs to A. see and understand the process, but B. mentally paints himself is to a corner of inaction before even doing anything to C. Loves painting but get painting anxiety....thank you. Please keep all of this wonderful stuff coming.
Honestly those 3 points you make are things I wanted to tackle in each tutorial. I know what it’s like to be apprehensive and even unsure of your own ability. At lot of this simply comes from not having all the information. I will always encourage and try and show people it’s not so scary once you know what to do 😁

You’ve switched to Athonian Camoshade for this video? Is there a specific reason for moving from Biel Tan Green from your earlier tutorial?

I decided to use Athenian because it matched the Wazzdakka Orks better and it’s something different to what I’ve already done.

I use a company called geek gaming terrain and they do some fantastic base mixes. Just use PVA and your done. I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying my videos 😁 that makes me happy 👍🏻

Thank you very much. I chose Athenian because it matched the wazzdakka orcs tone better and it’s something different that I’ve not shown before. I want to be careful about repeating things. I always want to be showing lots of different things to keep it interesting and get people thinking

Thank you. I’m really glad you like the ork skin recipe and it would be amazing if you use it for your own Orks. I use Windsor and newton series 7 brushes. My favourite size is the number 1 brush. I just get them off amazon for about £14 and they last me about 3 months 👍🏻

God damn, the Ork at 2:10 looks like Rocksteady from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, surely that can't be an accident lol. It looks amazing in this state, never mind the final product which looks amazing in its own right

Is there a reason you changed over to Athonian Camoshake for your wash as opposed to Biel-Tan Green which you used in your previous Ork skin video?
I just wanted to show something different. I didn't want to keep repeating the same way of painting Ork skin so it gives people the choice and are able to see what else you can achieve

Yes I would. This was going to be a mega armoured ork originally infact, I just thought it would be easier to show on a nob :)
How close is that orc skin mix to Elysian Green?
Hmmmmm not very close to be honest. But you can still follow all the steps after, it would just be a different base colour. Elysian green is darker. This mix was made to resemble the more vibrant limey tone. You could do Elysian. Layer ogryn and then a soft shade of the warplightning contrast paint if you’re uncomfortable mixing colours

Oh yeah, any tips or plans for doing a video on painting the eyes?
Honestly most Orks just have lower eye lids 🤷🏼♂️ for some reason. I would just use Mephiston red with nuln oil. Maybe a little highlight with evil sunz. If I ever paint an Ork in a video with an eye. I’ll make sure I’ll include it for yah 👍🏻

The big light is from the daylight company, I think I got it off amazon. It’s pretty expensive though. Amazon do some amazing daylight bulbs that work just aswell

I'm brand new to painting 40k. I have yet to find an explanation for the use of a spray coat to start with. Can someone explain this?

Wtf, your maccrage blue is so light, mine is, like 50% darker
I recon the highlights help to brighten it up. Could also be what your painting it over. Always remember the tone changes depending on the other things you do with it 😀 it’s always good to experiment 👍🏻
