Hi Jessie! I have a few suggestions you might also want to try for baby Rosie. I am a mom as well, and I put so much effort in ensuring my baby is entertained and doesn't resort to screentime. 😊
1. Kindee mosquito repellant or Off baby. Those are okay for babies below 1 year old.
2. Disposable bibs.
3. Suction Spinners to entertain them on the table and long plane or car rides. Even during bath. You can stick it on any shiny surface.
4. Reusable jelly stickers.
5. Cloth type busy books.
6. Pullstring sensory toys made of baby safe silicone. Helps with their fine motor skills.

I'm a new Mom too and di nawawala sa baby bag ko ang hoodie/cardigan in case na umulan or kagabihin sa travel. Also, plastic spoon and fork with travel case and waterproof bib mas convenient kasi i-wipe nalang after kumaen.

My two girls graduated Magna and Summa cum Laude. It’s even harder to raise them here sa US but blending two cultures ( Filipino and INC ) made them outstanding. Hindi sila brat and they’re very respectful. When they know you’re a Filipino, kahit English ang gamit nila, they would end their sentences with ‘po’ and answer with ‘yes/no po’. They’re conservative sa pananamit nila and they take responsibilities.
Yang mga anak ko, di ko pinilit na lumakad. Sa kama ko sila pinapalakad at doon sila gumagabay sa walls kaya naglagay ako ng extra mattress na mababa sa playroom nila and put it sa corner so they have two corners na gabay. When they were ready at nag-try na sila sa floor, doon na sila tumatayo firmly. Hindi sila nadadapa kahit matuto pang tumakbo.

Bilhan mo siya ng video disc na BABY CAN READ. Effective ito kasi super sponge ang utak ng baby. Maganda yang video na yan at madali siyang makakapagsalita.

Jessy, kapag maganda na ang grip ng BB mo, bilhan mo siya ng matatabang crayons to scribble. Yan din ang magte-train sa kanya to hold pens properly lalo na kapag tuturuan mo siya.

Kapag medyo nakakaintindi na siya, when you shop or go to parties, teach her how to behave properly sa mga different situations. And tell her clearly what do you expect from her. Kapag nadadapa siya sa play, kung minor lang, kahit umiyak siya, let her be. Let her get up on her own. This is also an EQ training at para lumaki siya na malakas ang loob.

Kapag nagta-tantrum siya, basta dry siya, walang sakit at busog, give her that space. Hayaan mo siyang umiyak ( maganda sa baga) at eventually ay makakatulog yan. Pag gising niya, she feels better. Magandang early training yan sa kanyang EQ.

Mag-imbento ka ng lullaby na lagi mong kakantahin sa kanya na ang message ay how you want her to be. Paulit-ulit lang. I made my own tune and my words were, “ Alex is a good girl, good girl is Alex “. My lullabies were sometimes church hymns. My children are now grown-ups and they still remember the common lullabies I sang for them.
