- One of the biggest advantages of working in a non-linear video editor (NLE) is the ability to place multiple videos in the same scene. The best example of this? Grid videos, also known as video walls or video collages.
In this tutorial, we'll show you how to make a video grid effect within a couple of minutes using the free version of VSDC. Pick 4, 9, or 16 videos you'd like to feature, and follow along!

Wow! I've been using your VSDC since I started making videos! You guys behind this amazing video editor are great! Kudos to your team! Thank you very much!❤❤❤
Wow, this is great to hear. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work
Awesome! Another clear and concise tutorial! Thank you
ahh! this is neat. never knew there is a more efficient way to approach video walls in vsdc, i always assume that i have to remember all the dimensions, but i never knew that there is already a setting that apply the sizes easier than punching the digits in. this is a good tutorial!
Yep, it's much easier than it might look
finally got a 64 bit running os just want to thank vsdc again for being soo helpful!
VSDC is awesome more love from Malawi 🇲🇼
Love from india ☺️🇮🇳
excellent tutorial, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi VSDC I had a play on a old video and posted it
great fun love the look,I must do more grid vids
in future thanks guys
Thank you once again 😌
Always welcome :)
Thanks for your help. I'll try this when I want to make a nine split screen gameplay video, and this will be fun to make.
Excellent idea!
Amazing... I like the introductory bit where she says that we're going to use complex calculations then she brings me back to reality... It's simple. Isn't it?
Thanks! That was exactly the idea :)
greatfully thanks.
I am going to use this, hope that it will not dishearten me. Thank you.
*I'm going to use this effect thank you*
Glad to hear that! Let us know how it goes
Can i get the answer of this question.
How to edit Burning Shirt effect in VSDC or VSDC pro.
Like character is wearing a shirt which is burning.
Hello VSDC Ive been having a problem with the software for sometime now.
I was editing a project from an external hard drive and saved the project.
but later transfered the videos to a different external drive because i had to use it for other stuffs
Whenever i try to open the project, I'm told to locate the videos. The are more than 50 videos which i have to locate and its very hactic
Is there an easier way i can locate all those 50 videos other than finding them one by one which is very time consuming.
Hope to hear from you soon
thanks.
Hi great video. I have a question, after the wall has been created, is it possible to have one of the clips grow to full size and take up the hole screen? Sorry I just started editing, so I do not know if that "transition" has a name...
Hello, thank you for your kind words about the video! To achieve the effect you described in your editing software (VSDC), you can use a "zoom" effect along with adjusting the center coordinates and zoom level of the object. Both of these options can be controlled by adding keyframes to the curve, allowing you to change the object's values and position over time: prnt.sc/zKraOD9wOFBn

Hey, I'm working on an animation where i'm tossing paper crumples into a box. Can anybody think of a better/more efficient way to do it?
What I have is: a lineup of images with progressively more papers inside the box; I have animated paper crumples going into it, and I'm trying to do a wipe fade (so that they go 'in' instead of appearing on the outer edge of the box) and having them stop exactly where the new paper ball is.
The trouble I'm having is that you can see part of the wipe, so they look like they're ghosting out/disappearing before they get to their resting place. Super tricky to get the wipe exactly timed. It would be handy if I could set up a disappearing point on the edge of the box (so instead of a wipe, they just 'disappear' there) but I have no idea how to do that if it's possible.
Anyway, if ya'll have any suggestions I'll HAPPILY take them.
cool

Can you make a tutorial on a paint splatter effect or ink splatter transition? I’m trying to recreate the NCIS: Los Angeles intro which has that sort of effect for character intros.
Hm... cool idea. We'll see how we could recreate it. Thanks!
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor Yeah! If you need a reference, check out the intro for season 11. They have some really cool effects! Thank you so much!
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor Also I’m thinking the season 11 intro specifically. That will have the paint splatter effect of sorts.
How do I add that emoji avatar u use?
Hey! Ive been a user of VSDC For over 5 years now and the one issue that I still have with it is the lag it has, Currently I am now running this on an RTX 3060 and it still has stuttering issues, I know for sure my pc is fine and I have tried to optimize the VSDC Settings but I still get stuttering
To follow up on this the lag isnt horrible but its still there like on previous less PC's
At the very end of the video, were you copying and pasting the parameters of the original modified video to the remaining videos? Can you explain how you did this?
Hello, we copied the Border, then switched to the main "Scene 0" timeline tab, double-clicked on the desired video in the scene (preview window) to open its tab in the timeline, and pressed Ctrl V to paste the copy of the Border.
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor ah, It happened so quickly that I did not pick up on it. I purchased this product a while back and I am impressed with the ease of making minute detail changes quickly. So, Kudos to the developers, this product is awesome. Thank You for answering my question as well.
Hey VSDC, can you help me? so I suddenly got this problem that the video I editing won't play back anymore I don't know what happen it's just didn't play back when I'm editing a clip. Even the effects, the animated effects didn't play back IDK why. Please help me sooner or later cause I need to finish this project until the next weekend.
Hi! Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell what's happening without knowing what exactly you're doing. Is there a chance you could send us your project (packed)? Ideally, include a more detailed description of your actions (support@videosoftdev.com)
Hello VSDC team! I wanted to ask a question. Are there any text animations in vsdc?
Thanks!
Hi Hadee,
Yes, there are text animation effects in VSDC! They're located in the Text effects menu at the top. Feel free to also check video for inspiration: czcams.com/video/jPArxXTSRMQ/video.html
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor oh OK!, Thanks!
I've recorded a video for CZcams, edited it and tried to export it, it only exported about six minutes if the full 14 minute video, what's happening?
Hi! What exactly happened after the export? Did you get the output video, and it was just 6 minutes long? Did you accidentally use the Split by marker feature? Ideally, we'd need to look at project, because this is an uncommon issue and we need to see the settings.
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor I exported it and only got the first six minutes of the video, nothing else, I didn't use split by marker uless I was cutting out a piece if the video, but in the clip I got you can see where jump cuts happen so that isn't the issue, I tried again and the video was exported, but it was exported in like three minute sections
What would the setting be for a grid of 12?
Hello,
If the resolution of your project is 1920 by 1080 and you want to place 12 videos on the scene at once, each of them should have a resolution of 640 by 360 pixels so that all of them can fit on the screen.
Could you tell me how to add a talking memoji like yours in vsdc free video editor
Not yet. We aren't ready to reveal this secret.
Hope to see it soon.
The set size isn't in the same directory as shown in the video. Where did it move to?
Hello! Actually, we haven't moved the Set size option. Could you kindly specify the moment on the video where you noticed the difference?
@@VSDCFreeVideoEditor Hey. Thank you. The videos you make are amazing and I've learned so much from them. After a careful 2nd look, I found the "set size" right where the video says it should be relocated. I was looking in the properties and failed to right click the video stack.
HELP ME THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM IN YOUR PROGRAMM!!! I can't cut my video, when I tried to cut it, it always returned to the starting position!!! What should I do with it?????
Hi Granny boy,
It's really hard to tell what's happening without seeing what you're doing exactly. It's be helpful if you could either describe your actions (and their results) in detail or send us an email at support@videosoftdev.com with screenshots or a video.

Is there a video tutorial teaching how to create a video including the nice girl avatar, as presented in this video?
Hello, we use iPhone's Animoji
How to add urdu /hindi text in vsdc?
Please make a video
Okey
VSDC should have a direct option to do that.
Then what do you think editors are for?
@@ElectroProjects No, I mean it’s annoying to do those entire stuffs. Editors want benefits, you know. Plus, I can't change the ratio whatever I want in there.
@@MANitulOfficial actually you have to only do it once and then later you use the same vsdc file (.vproj) as a template, by just replacing the videos with other videos of your choice but the video grid setup will remain the same. I hope you understood what I meant... Good Luck! 😎
@@ElectroProjects Great solution! But bro look at Filmora, I mean, how smart they are! They put a new option for customizing that. So, obviously we hope for that from VSDC. (Note: I always use VSDC, not filmora)
@@MANitulOfficial Thanks! Bro Filmore is legally payed software
