Planting LOTS of Tomatoes

🍅Today was a great day to plant tomatoes!
See the wheel turning under the yellow water tank? It creates holes in the corn-based, biodegradable black mulch. The wheel also fills those holes with water, giving the new plants a drink. That mulch is going to trap moisture in the soil as well as keep weeds at bay. Frank drove the tractor while Nik and Marty placed plants in the soil.
This year, they are planting about 6,000 tomato plants. Let’s hope for steady temps and average rain totals this summer!
