I have tried for 2months to contact JB. I finally gave up. And ordered the teraflex mega short. I truly wanted the JB. I even found a new kit being sold privately and almost took the 4hr drive... Maybe JB will get their act together...apparently they are known for being impossible to reach...so what if u have questions or need help? Nice video tho

I did the supershort 231 as well about 2 yrs ago on my 02 TJ. My biggest complaint is the transfer case chain they gave me. started out tight. After about 4 months i noticed some clunking going into gear then reverse. I have a very built up R32 3 spd automatic pushing 5:13s and 35" tires. Like everything else i am assuming that crappy chain came from china without knowing. I regret tossing my oem drive chain because i'd go the the hassle and put it back in in a second. I was thinking it was slop in my difs, but nope you can rotate the driveshaft and hear it click or clank or whatever the sound is it makes when the two pieced decide to spin together.

Nice job putting this together. Editing all of this is definitely a ton of work. Whenever I take a tcase apart I order a new pump and filter. They're so cheap and usually full of crap that its worth it. A new chain isnt a bad idea since they can stretch overtime. Especially considering your tcase came from send it jimmy with a xj on baldass 33s. Keep up the good work.

    • @MuddyBeards4X4

Apparently jb conversions makes a planetary gear kit that can make the 231 stronger.there’s a wider chain kit available too that is apparently stronger. This seems like a good way to beef it up. The only way to add more gearing though is a rubicrawler which I think only bolts to the 42le.

Hello i wanted to ask you, did you recalibrate the speedometer? I saw in some forums there is a way to do it with a signal convertor, hope you can shed some light on this thank you. Also worth to mention iv found that tesa tape is the best electrical tape you can use, it doesn’t get all brittle or sticky like regular electrical tape.
